So I don’t really know what I’m doing but trying to keep the bus moving after our BFPs. Don’t know about everyone else but I feel very anxious and worried about the whole thing. I really want to be happy and celebrate but can’t just yet

@Sydgal22
How big did your bean measure - mine was 0.9 cm . Again not sure what this actually means
X

Cocoblue22 · 11/07/2020 12:40

Congratulations @Xx40yearsyoungxx that's wonderful! Really pleased for you x

@Sydgal22 yes I'm having one at 7w and 1d by my estimation I can't wait x

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 11/07/2020 13:48

@Cocoblue22 still can’t believe it . What date is your scan ?

Cocoblue22 · 11/07/2020 15:51

@Xx40yearsyoungxx mines on 29th. Feel quite nervous! X

Anyone else's hands and feet felt colder than usual? I don't remember this last time x

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 11/07/2020 19:33

@Cocoblue22 - 29th is not too far away but I bet it feels like a life time .
I read on another thread last night about lots of people feeling really cold so I’m guessing that’s another healthy sign !
X

LauMoore · 11/07/2020 23:11

Hi girls anyone else got spotting? I’ve had it on and off for a couple of weeks now had a scan at 7wks all fine, but I’m higher risk of miscarriage so I get another one at 9 weeks! Feeling very up and down about it all really! Anyone else had the same? x

Sydgal22 · 12/07/2020 00:20

@Xx40yearsyoungxx aw so glad to come on this morn and see that you had a successful scan, you must be so relieved!! It’s such a long road isn’t it, but first milestone hit!
I think mine measured 1.07 but I’m a couple of days ahead of you! Will you have anymore checks booked in?

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 12/07/2020 06:22

@LauMoore at my scan yesterday the lady said spotting was really normal and to be expected.

@Sydgal22 It is a long rode but yes first milestone hit . Yay . I now have to phone my local GP to inform and register it with them (yesterday was a private one following IVF) . The lady yesterday said that due to corona virus all areas are now doing it differently so depending on area will depend on whether you get another scan before 12 weeks .As it’s the weekend I couldn’t get hold of the surgery yesterday so will give them
a bell tomorrow.
How about you - when’s your next scan ?
Are you going to tell anyone now ?

Sydgal22 · 12/07/2020 09:07

@Xx40yearsyoungxx my next scan will be 12 weeks! Will get the harmony blood test and find out gender at 10 weeks so that’ll be the next thing :) i can ring to register with my hospital this week and get on their midwives case load. There’s not really any corona cases in nsw where I live so things are relatively back to normal, long may it stay that way!!
I’ve already told my best friends two who are also preg, we’re gonna wait till 12 weeks to tell family :) my family are on the other side of the world so I could just pop out a baby one day and they’d never know ha!

Belager · 13/07/2020 19:19

Afternoon! Late tester here! Got my bfp yesterday, have one DD 4. Due date 13.2

TheGirlWhoLived · 13/07/2020 19:21

Wow that is a late test! How do you know how far along your are??

Belager · 13/07/2020 19:59

9/10 weeks? I've had an inkling for a while, but refused to make it real until term ended!

LauMoore · 20/07/2020 17:06

Just had a 9 week scan after lots of spotting and pains but baby grown the right amount since the last scan at 7 weeks, strong heartbeat and was very wiggly and kicking it’s little arms and legs around on the screen! Soo cute! I was very 50/50 thinking it could all be over today so I’m feeling like the luckiest Mum alive right now! I’m proof even with horrid bleeding and pain, baby can still be fine! I’m taking low dose Asprin this time has anyone else been told to do this?

DAC21 · 21/07/2020 14:10

@LauMoore That is such lovely news! You must have been so relieved to see the little baby move around happily! ❤

My wife has also been advised to take low dose aspirin from week12, not sure why not earlier (she is week 10 at the moment). I think because of blood pressure, but not sure. She had complications in previous pregnancy, so I think this is a precaution. Who prescribed it for you, was it the midwife or an obstetrician?

OnNaturesCourse · 22/07/2020 10:33

Another one here to say that the outcome after bleeding and pain can be good - 10 weeks now and have on and off spotting since 4 weeks but baby had a good strong heartbeat at 6 weeks, and was bouncing around waving at 8 weeks. Morning sickness and heartburn has been horrific the last 4 weeks too so I'm taking that as a good sign, even if I'm getting to know my loo bowl too much for my liking!

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 22/07/2020 11:46

@OnNaturesCourse
So pleased to see you back here, didn't want to ask the outcome of your scan.

I too am far to well acquainted with my loo bowl. My 19mo was copying me be sick in it yesterday! 12 week scan on Monday to find out for sure how far along I am.

OnNaturesCourse · 22/07/2020 12:05

Lol, my little one keeps running round saying "I feel sick" or "I need a bowl!"... Very hard to explain to family and friends who don't know yet! She also likes to tell the baby off for making me feel poorly - my tummy is constantly being told off!

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 23/07/2020 11:50

Fortunately my DS hasn't got the vocal skills for that yet. Bet you had to have a lot of food poisoning, maybe some antibiotics that disagreed with you too! On the plus side, lockdown has meant limited socialising so limited opportunities for people to guess. Last time, I'd had to tell people by 6 weeks as it was just too obvious.
Good luck, let's hope we feel better soon 🚽

LauMoore · 03/08/2020 20:43

Hi girls how we all doing? I laid low for a while as had 3 huge bright red bleeds and assumed I’d miscarried for the third time, but got to my 12 week scan today expecting the worst and baby was happily waving at us on the screen. Being pregnant has been the most emotional rollercoaster ever! Me and Hubby are both a bit of a wreck by this point!

@DAC21 I saw a private gynaecologist but they specifically said take Aspirin as soon as you can, from the first positive pregnancy test (I miscarried quite early last 2 pregnancies and they thought possibly due to blood clots so hence the Aspirin)

DAC21 · 04/08/2020 07:09

@LauMoore That is wonderful news about your baby, so happy for you! Our 12-week scan is today, I am so excited but also nervous. I won't be allowed in with my wife, so will just anxiously be waiting outside the building. She then has an appointment with the obstetrician tomorrow, I think she will prescribe her aspirin then.

Did they give you a lot of photos at the scan or allow you to record a little video? I hope they will let my wife do that, would mean the world to me.

TTCgee · 04/08/2020 12:12

@LauMoore soo so happy to hear you had a lovely experience at your scan! I'm with you on the fear - our scan is tomorrow and I'm starting to feel the nerves big time!

@DAC21 good luck today! Some friends of mine have had scans recently and have been allowed to take videos so fingers crossed you'll be the same 🙏

DAC21 · 04/08/2020 14:13

Scan today went well, everything seemed well. Waiting for the blood test result part of it, but they said that everything looked good on the scan.
But my poor wife had a horrible experience with the sonographer who was really rude. She wanted to buy some extra photos for me, so paid to have 8 photos instead of the standard 3. We did this in the last pregnancy as well and they gave us shots of different views. But now the sonographer just printed the exact same picture 8 times!!!!! And no video. :(
I feel a bit deflated as I was obviously hoping to see more, but all in all we are just happy that baby seems healthy and all is well for the moment being.

This was just adding on top of another frustrating experience where the midwife called her back for a repeat blood test, because the label had fallen off of the tube they have collected the blood in at her last visit. WTF?! She went back yesterday and the midwife was unable to take blood from her arm, so ended up doing it from the back of her hand. Then when she tried to change tubes the blood squirted everywhere! Honestly, what the hell is wrong with people?
She has an obstetrician appointment tomorrow, I am crossing fingers she has a more positive experience and then no more appointments for a while. In her last pregnancy she was really lucky with a lovely midwife and always a nice sonographer.

@TTCgee Good luck with your scan tomorrow, hope you will get a friendly sonographer! ;)

OnNaturesCourse · 04/08/2020 14:27

Sorry to hear of that experience - I think given the circumstances pictures should be given willingly plus you should be able to video atleast a part of it. Partners are losing out so much. I know scans are for medical reason first and foremost but I do think they help with the bonding experience.

I am sat in the car park waiting on my time for my 12 scan and I'm so nervous. Heard the baby's heartbeat on the home doppler this morning but I'm still paranoid. This pregnancy has been such a rough ride so far.

DAC21 · 04/08/2020 14:46

@OnNaturesCourse Fingers crossed all goes well!

OnNaturesCourse · 04/08/2020 22:01

Scan went well aside from baby not lying still for very long! Measuring bang on where I thought I was. Got my bloods etc done too so waiting on the results from that in a few weeks x
