So I don’t really know what I’m doing but trying to keep the bus moving after our BFPs. Don’t know about everyone else but I feel very anxious and worried about the whole thing. I really want to be happy and celebrate but can’t just yet

It's my 2nd, and the 1st was nothing like this. With my first I had sore boobs, and was sick quite alot (HG) but I didn't have nausea with it - I just threw up randomly. With this one I'm constantly feeling motion sick but haven't vomited, my boob ache comes and goes, and I'm always tired and lightheaded plus bleeding / spotting.

They've got no idea and neither do i. Apparently it can just be one of those things especially in the first 12 weeks.

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 27/06/2020 17:17

@OnNaturesCourse
That's great news, I'm so pleased to hear there is just the one strong heartbeat.

I'm struggling with nausea now and have been for a week or so. Lost 3kg! Which isn't too much of a drama as I had at least that much spare anyway! But the weakness and tiredness is debilitating. My 18mo won't let me rest at all. My diet pretty much consists of full sugar lemonade, sweets and whatever tiny portion of proper dinner I can manage.

Does anyone have any food recommendations? X

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 00:04

I'm struggling with the sheer weakness too.

I've been picking at food, and wasting so much as I can't eat more than a mouthful or two. Jam on toast, dry cereal, milk and dry flatbreads have been my main diet. I tried some fries the other day after fancying them all day and literally managed to eat about 10.

I got orange lucozade today to try bring up my sugar and energy levels as I am feeling physically ill with it all now.

Sydgal22 · 28/06/2020 00:07

@OnNaturesCourse @DaffodilsAndDandelions sorry to hear you’ve both been feeling so crap, it must be so awful. I’m kind of dreading feeling bad but also hoping it’ll be a positive sign in some way :/ only thing I have going on at the moment are the boobs are v sore and I’m quite tired in the evenings.

@J0DI3 I caved and did a CB 🤦‍♀️ Thankfully was 3+ weeks too so I feel a littleeee better, I’m 5+1 today :)

Hi guys,

Glad to hear that everyone is progressing nicely. I feel SHOCKiNG.

@OnNaturesCourse like you I feel like I have motion sickness but I just can’t get rid of it, day or night. Every time I move I feel sick and a lot of the time I am being.

This number 2 for me and last time I felt nowhere near as bad as this, I have absolutely no energy (walking upstairs takes effort) and my 3yr old unfortunately doesn’t help with that. I’m constantly nauseous, I have heartburn all night, my boobs are so so sore and I have a lot of “pressure” in my womb area. I know two pregnancies are never the same but my symptoms just seem so severe compared to last time, anyone know if this is normal?

Posie100 · 28/06/2020 11:53

I am also feeling nauseous all the time. I get a few hours respite about once a day but apart from that I just feel sick. In addition to this I'm the most tired I have ever been. So far I have found having dry crackers helps slightly with the nausea.
I was also wondering if this is normal.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 13:25

Seems most of us are having a tough time with it all.

The lucozade really helped me yesterday. I actually felt human for a few hours. Got a good sleep and woke feeling great. Few hours later I started feeling a bit shakey and low again but no where near as bad. Have had another drink of it so we will see what it does.

Anyone got crazy thirst going on?

Posie100 · 28/06/2020 14:13

Yup, also really thirsty. Lucozade sounds like a good idea. Will give it a go.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 14:21

I'm also sooking on fizzy refresher sweets to help ease the trapped wind in my tummy.

Today is a better day. Not sure if it's the lucozade and sweets or the fact that DC1 is off at the grandparents lol.

Little11 · 28/06/2020 18:26

@Whizzkids0812 I could have written your post! I feel absolutely hideous, don’t remember feeling this bad last time round I honestly don’t. I rung the doctors in tears last week and begged for anti sickness tablets. Don’t see how I’m gonna get through a full week of work this week. The tiredness is so bad, I’m napping everyday if I can and the nausea is on another scale. So so different to my last pregnancy!

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 28/06/2020 18:39

Yes, the thirst is unreal. Probably not helped by feeling to sick to drink much so never getting properly hydrated.
I had filled pasta and homemade sauce for tea. Think DS ate more than me!!
I will get some orange lucozade tomorrow, thanks for the tip.
I am the same with fries, we had pizza and chips for tea last night. I managed one slice of a think crust frozen pizza and about 5 chips. They just made me gag!
I have to nap when DS does so um getting no housework or actual work done.
I too don't remember feeling this bad last time. But then I didn't have to cook if I wasn't hungry and could nap if f I needed and lie in at the weekend.
My 'D'P is being utterly crap and useless but that is a whole other thread.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 19:14

I get that feeling too, that it was easier last time round because I had no one but myself to look after...and I was made redundant so work started winding down around 10 week mark and I was signed off with HG prior to that. I had nothing to do except pick at what food I fancied, watch TV, game and clean at my own pace. This time everything is at DC pace - although she has been a little star in helping me and being a bit more relaxed watching lots of movies together etc. I've definitely felt the benefit of her not being here today - but that makes me feel like such a bad parent 😔

Some days I feel like literally crawling up the stairs, and have found myself lying on the floor while DC just plays around me.

Out of interest - your other pregnancies, were they boys or girls? I suspect because this is so different to my first that it'll be a boy this time...

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 28/06/2020 19:23

@OnNaturesCourse we are not bad parents!! It is tough but we are trying our best. My DS loves using me as a climbing frame when I can do no more than lie on the floor with him. I'm thinking I might be having a girl this time round because of the differences. Mainly feeling sicker and much much more bloated. My trousers don't fit!! Whereas I never needed to buy maternity jeans at all last time. Managed with some mat leggings and a pair of fat blokes dungarees for working.

Shropsmum · 28/06/2020 19:25

Hi! 👋🏻 Sorry just wrote on the previous thread and missed this link! Hope you don’t mind if I tag along?! Due 27th/28th I think ... lucky not a leap year! x

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 19:54

My first was a girl, and I was so sick with her but didn't have the constant nausea like this time.

So so different this time.

Hopefully by the time she returns tomorrow I'll have a bit more energy about me.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 19:55

Aww a leap year baby would be cute - welcome 😊

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 28/06/2020 20:01

@Shropsmum
Welcome and congratulations

@OnNaturesCourse how far along are you? I think I'm 8 weeks ish but cycle was all over the place so not really sure. I have my booking appointment on 2/7 which is face to face 🙂

Whizzkids0812 · 28/06/2020 21:10

@OnNaturesCourse My first was a boy so I’m the opposite to you.

And chips are actually one thing I can eat, I seem to also be craving salty things. Very weird for me as I normally have a big sweet tooth. But some salty chips today were probably the nicest things I’ve eaten in over a week. My dp has been amazing however he now got tonsillitis and looks as bad as I feel. Ds went for a ‘sneaky sleepover’ last night just so we could get some rest. It’s no good when you’re both out of commission.

Oh and I’m 7 weeks tomorrow and have my booking (via phone) tomorrow and bloods on Tuesday.

OnNaturesCourse · 28/06/2020 21:30

By my dates I'm 7+2 but by my last scan I'm 6+6.

I have another scan at the end of this coming week, and midwife on the 6th.

Bear127 · 28/06/2020 22:34

I’m feeling suuuuper tired and thirsty too. I struggle to drink much usually but I’ve been drinking 3+ litres most days for the past week or so! My boobs are also hurting now, they feel heavier and I can see more veins. I still haven’t been hit with the nausea as much, I felt slightly sick a few times today but that’s the most sick I’ve felt all week. And the bloat is still here! I feel like a barrel 😩 it’s so interesting to hear how different our symptoms are.

PercyThrower · 29/06/2020 07:35

Hey everyone. I'm new here, i hope you don't mind me saying hello. I'm about 8 weeks. We have a little boy already who is 20 months. I've had a bit of a weird pregnancy so far so when we went for a viability scan yesterday i was completely prepared for it to be another miscarriage, but instead we were told it might be twins. Quite a surprise. We have to go back as one had a strong trace but the other was harder to see so we don't know if it's viable or what's going on.

No twins in the family, this is a fully random identical twin situation.

So yeh, nice bit of head explodeyness for a Sunday.

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling so poorly. I felt really sick with my son and found it was best if i snacked hourly. I ate lots of carbs, ice lollies, biscuits and ryvitas and oatcakes, i could manage cold yoghurt and cold orange juice and cold milk, but i think those things were quite personal to me. Smoothies were good too and made me feel like i was getting a few vitamins.
Eating crackers in the middle night when i woke up stopped me feeling really sick in the morning. I had my pregnacare with the biggest portion i thought id eat that day, as they made me feel a bit yuck on an empty stomach. I don't have the sickness so badly this time anymore, but i remember how awful it was and you have my commiserations x

I am exhausted this time, everything hurts! And my tummy.... oh dear. First trimesters are crap!

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 29/06/2020 09:14

@PercyThrower welcome
We are at a similar stage, I am also about 8 weeks and have an 18mo.
I hope your next scan goes well for you all. Twins must be quite a surprise!

Pogmella · 30/06/2020 11:58

Sigh. Meant to be having booking in appt over the phone 45 mins ago but no call. Can’t get through to the midwife team, just goes to voicemail. Pretty deflated.

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 30/06/2020 14:07

@Pogmella
How disappointing, I Hope you have now heard from them xx

DAC21 · 30/06/2020 21:57

@Pogmella What??? That is so frustrating, hope they got in touch since then.
Wife hasn't yet been able to book midwife yet as apparently it takes a week for them to get the info from the hospital's self-referral form. What the hell?!
