So I don’t really know what I’m doing but trying to keep the bus moving after our BFPs. Don’t know about everyone else but I feel very anxious and worried about the whole thing. I really want to be happy and celebrate but can’t just yet

@Hogrider @OnNaturesCourse Thank you! 😊
This is second baby for us, still in disbelief, but really hope it will all be okay. I tried to find info on antenatal care during the pandemic but didn't find anything specific to our town. But there was something about combined midwife and scan appointments, so they would give the vaccinations and take blood samples the same time as the scans. Makes sense. We will speak to GP next week to ask about next steps in the current situation.
I feel sad that I most likely won't be able to accompany my wife to the scans, but of course understand this is for everyone's safety.

Little11 · 07/06/2020 22:37

Ladies has anyone else not yet told their OH?! I really really want to keep it a secret and surprise him on Father’s Day but that’s another fortnight away...

OnNaturesCourse · 07/06/2020 22:49

@WhizzKid yep, I'm petrified, absolutely petrified... But so happy at the same time. Such a strange feeling.

How far along are you?

OnNaturesCourse · 07/06/2020 23:27

Ooo @little I couldn't keep it from him. I gave him the test as soon as I walked out the bathroom! Our parents were told that day too lol

Hogrider · 08/06/2020 03:50

@Whizzkids0812 Welcome! I think we are all a little scared, but I'm determined to stay positive and rest more than usual (power nap after lunch on weekends!). We are moving house this week and I'm scared to lift anything heavy...!

@Little11 My husband got promoted the same day I tested so I had champagne and juice set up at home waiting for him. The pregnancy test was in between the two bottles. I think I said something along the lines of "we have a lot to celebrate" when he walked in the door... Will never forget the look on his face. 😃

@DAC21 I know what you mean, because it's our first one I wish my hubby could come with me. I wonder if I could film the scan on my phone and show him after?

DAC21 · 08/06/2020 06:59

@Whizzkids0812 The digital test is so great for conveying the message, isn't it? We wanted to show to a friend over Skype as she has been really there for us and knew about the trip to the fertility clinic but the battery if the CB died just before we called! From last time I seemed to remember it holding its charge for at least a week.

@Hogrider That's a good point, I think you are right, they will probably allow you to film some of the scan. They know how much this means to people.

Runnergirl1 · 08/06/2020 09:48

So I made the bold move today and rang the doctors. They have me the number for midwifes and they got me put on the system. A letter will come in the post regarding book in appointment. Made it feel of more real now.

I’m a teacher though and not sure whether I can go back to work or not, not sure how it works. I teach 4/5year olds who really can’t social distance and although we are not back yet I still have the key workers children which should be a week tomorrow. What are we suppose to do. I ideally don’t want to tell the head this early. Plus that means telling him before anyone else x

@Runnergirl1 Thank you for the info!

I know, I keep looking for info on what applies to pregnant women but can't really find a clear message. My wife is due to go back to work from July and our son also to nursery but is this still okay if she is pregnant? I really don't know. And I don't know who can give answers. I feel like the GP will just say use your own judgement. Anyway, will ask later this week and see what they advise. Will share it here.

Whizzkids0812 · 08/06/2020 11:09

@OnNaturesCourse thankyou and I think I’m exactly 4 weeks. AF was due today but had lots of confirmation before hand which has shocked me really. But makes even scarier I think. With my first little boy, I didn’t know I was pg until about 6/7 weeks so I never experienced all of this at the beginning before.

@Hogrider I moved house at 10 weeks with my first and it was a great excuse for not doing anything. Have you got lots of people to help though?

@Runnergirl1iM a teacher too and I seriously don’t know what to do, I think in my case it’s more awkward as I was off Sick before lockdown anyways so I’m worried it will look bad that I’m off again.

Whizzkids0812 · 08/06/2020 11:10

@DAC21oh no, yeah I think mine lasted ages last time too. At least long enough for my mum to find it before I told her. 🤦‍♀️ But definitely a lot better, it’s such a shame that they’re not quite as sensitive.

KRK05 · 08/06/2020 13:10

Afternoon ladies 🥰 had a weekend off to just enjoy the excitement. MN is great for support & definitely made this cycle go much faster but sometimes find I can obsess over every little thing with coming on here 🙈

I done a digi today as officially 2 days late for AF & got 2-3 weeks so feels more real now 😆🙏🏼 I rang midwife today too so that's all done & will get my scan letter by the end of the week as il get an early one due to Ectopic in March. I did ask about recording, I was told I can record at the end for my OH & will get extra scan pictures for free to take home. Hopefully by 12 week scan he can come as I've noticed now the private scans here where I am are allowing 1 person in, maybe even the NHS by the time go for scan 🤞🏻

@Little11 Wait for Fathers Day I wouldve LOVED to do that, I done something special for our son cause he was a surprise & it was amazing to do 🥰 but this time around he was there when I tested so we both looked together. I am gonna do something special to let our son know he will be a big brother though, plus for family too.

Runnergirl1 · 08/06/2020 16:56

So rang the docs and spoke to the union. Basically I have to tell my employer. Doctor said it’s ok to work if you can keep social distancing but think that’s very hard with 4/5 year olds. The union said I was classed as vulnerable and that I should tell employer as they will be the ones that should ‘adjust my duties so that I can work from home‘ x

@Little11 that’s would be amazing if you could wait to tell him. How lovely. I just panicked and left it in the bathroom and said I think you should look at that, to which I got ooooooooo lol x

The midwife at the EPU said I might be scanned early at 8 weeks... Has anyone had this? Do I need to bring it up with my own midwife when I register with her?

OnNaturesCourse · 08/06/2020 20:42

Anyone else ridiculously tired at this stage? I slept 10 hours solid last night, and have done little today but I'm so tired. An hour after I woke up this morning I was ready for a nap... Shame my 2 year old wasn't lol.

Hogrider · 08/06/2020 20:53

@KRK05 Interesting that you get extra pictures! At least some good news. I still haven't got a GP so nobody to refer me or give me a number to self refer myself.

@OnNaturesCourse I have heard about this too on MN, 3 people have said they have an 8 week scan now?! Covid related? And yes, I sleep 3 hours in the afternoon on weekends and 10 hours during the night. Exhausted!!!

Started house move today, drove 3 hours to get keys to new place and then 3 hours back down again. Every time I went over a pothole I was scared it would hurt me somehow?! If I'm this overprotective at 4 weeks pregnant, what will I be as I mum?!

OnNaturesCourse · 08/06/2020 20:59

@Hogrider I was told by the EPU midwife over the phone when I called about my bleeding - but as all that's luckily stopped now I've not spoken to them again. I'm looking into getting a private scan anyway around 7 weeks... But I'm absolutely petrified it shows something is wrong after my bleed 😔 I don't think the worry ever goes away, my DC1 is 2.5 now and I still worry over her even though she's super resilient and independent already

Little11 · 08/06/2020 21:46

Oh ladies I couldn’t keep it in, I’ve told him!! He is over the moon! I can’t stop crying I’m so happy x

OnNaturesCourse · 08/06/2020 22:31

Awww that's lovely! How did you tell him? What did he say?

TTCgee · 09/06/2020 07:26

Hey guys!! So I'm moving over from the sex talk June bus 😂😂 got this lovely result today!

Can anyone help me calm down?! How did you all feel when you saw the positive? I'm just in shock and feel like it's not real? I'm scared to even move incase I do something to make it not stick! Xxxx

Runnergirl1 · 09/06/2020 08:46

@TTCgee - congratulations and welcome. I’m with you there, everytime I sneeze or go to the toilet I feel like it’s going to come out. It’s so mixed emotions, over the moon but worry at the same time If you read the above comments from some of the lovely ladies we have to try and enjoy our pregnancy and not think negatively x

Little11 · 09/06/2020 09:09

Yay congratulations @TTCgee that’s a lovely line!

@OnNaturesCourse I asked if he wanted an early Father’s Day present... I had wrapped up the positive pregnancy test in a tiny baby grow!

TTCgee · 09/06/2020 09:12

@Runnergirl1 thank you! Yeah that's great advice! On a dog walk now and keep thinking I may as well feel happy and enjoy it because you just don't know! So surreal!

Just phoned the GP to sort out a phone call with a midwife next week! Eeeek how exciting! Apparently my due date is around 18/20th feb so close to you lovely ladies

Will you guys be exercising normally? I usually do a bit of CrossFit and weights but unsure whether to tone it down now? xxxx

OnNaturesCourse · 09/06/2020 10:15

Little - that's such a cute way of doing it ❤️

TTC - the advice usually is if you're fit and healthy, and done the exercise before pregnancy, then you can continue it. But maybe check with the midwife first.
