Clairesoph · 28/04/2020 14:39

Thanks all! So surreal being on the labour ward! Hearing a woman going hell for leather down the corridor 😍 I'm welling up! Anyway, keep you all posted! 🥰 half hoping it is just my old lady bladder failing me because I don't even have the Moses basket out the loft yet 🤣

woollycat · 28/04/2020 14:42

Hello! ☺️
I am so tired today, have taken a day off work to relax but instead am cooking a giant meal which is very tiring 😀 I feel for you all with toddlers, I don't know how you do it!!!

123Pandy · 28/04/2020 15:17

@sao81 thanks for the new thread!

Hope everyone is doing ok.
I'm feeling absolutely shattered and have taken to having afternoon naps quite regularly. Getting tummy aches on and off for the past day or two so not feeling massively comfortable at all!

Emmacb82 · 28/04/2020 15:20

Hey everyone 👋

Good luck @Clairesoph! Might be another April baby!!

Moonstone12 · 28/04/2020 15:38

👋🏻

helpasisterout · 28/04/2020 15:41

Can't believe this is the thread where most of us will hopefully meet our babies 😱😍 though 37w tomorrow I just feel that I will be waiting ages can't get my head around it happening so soon!!

May2311 · 28/04/2020 15:52

@sao81 thanks for setting up the new thread 😊

It’s very exciting thinking we will be hearing more Baby birth announcements shortly!!!

Bit of advice needed( little embarrassing!!) - Sex during the last few weeks of pregnancy- is it ok? Im 38 weeks tomorrow & hubby and I DTD last night but afterwards I’ve had really bad constant period like pain in lower abdomen so now thinking perhaps it’s time we stop? 🙄

Really hope you ladies don’t mind me asking I don’t really feel comfortable discussing with the midwife! Xxxx

sao81 · 28/04/2020 16:04

@clairesoph good luck!! Xxx
@May2311 sex can apparently bring on labour! Something about semen can soften your cervix.. I've been begging my partner to try it but the past couple of weeks hes said it scares him me being this pregnant incase anything happens during, I said thats the whole point 😂😂

OP posts:
Clairesoph · 28/04/2020 16:07

Oh guys! So not waters, relief! Just a minger with a bad bladder and a lot of discharge haha! However, whilst she was checking me over she requested a scan because she was unsure of his position and the little monkey is the wrong way up!!!!!!

So now I'm being booked in for a bloomin ECV - anyone got any experience of this? Bit scared. Failing that, it will be a csection at 39 weeks! Glad I came in now 🤯

May2311 · 28/04/2020 16:12

@sao81 - 😂😂 it’s like a Ross & Rachael moment in friends! I’m more worried because of the period pain I’ve had after as haven’t had that up to this point before which is why I was thinking perhaps time to stop!!

Lu1u · 28/04/2020 16:21

@woollycat with you on the tiredness today, when does your mat leave start?

@may2311 absolutely fine to continue having sex if you are still comfortable enough to do it! Apparently semen contains prostaglandins which is the same thing that ripens the cervix which is why it is thought it can bring on labour (didn't work for me with my first though when I was overdue and definitely CBA to try this time round haha 😂)

@Clairesoph ahhhh never mind, and don't be silly you aren't a minger 😂 but that's a surprise about baby being breach! No experience of ECV I'm afraid but hoping it works for you if you go for it X

May2311 · 28/04/2020 16:22

@Clairesoph my friend had an ECV last week at 37.5 weeks but it didn’t work. She has since seen a consultant and has decided to attempt a natural birth. She said the ECV was really painful for her ( she used G&A) but baby handled it really well and heart rate remained steady. Xxx

Schlobbob · 28/04/2020 16:26

Hey mamas, I've been lurking but wanted to come back to say hi!

I'm 37 weeks today with DC4, so have been getting all the clothes and equipment washed and ready, started packing my hospital bag too.

re the sex - do it! It can help bring on labour if you're ready, even if you feel like a hippo when doing it 😆 only times it wouldn't be recommended is if you have a low laying placenta

Looking forward to seeing birth announcements soon, hope the rest of everyone's pregnancies go smoothly

Schlobbob · 28/04/2020 16:37

@Clairesoph no experience on an ECV but hope it does work for you

woollycat · 28/04/2020 16:38

@Lu1u I go in mat leave end of next week when I'll be 38w. Starting to really look forward to it!

Is anyone else still working full time?

AlmostAlwyn · 28/04/2020 16:42

@May2311 I read once that having regular sex during pregnancy means you're less likely go overdue. It was true for me at least, having my first at 40+0 and second at 38+4! We actually DTD the night before I went into labour, and my husband said (later, on the way home from hospital with baby!) that it had been a bit... softer down there than usual! Blush So no reason to stop unless it's uncomfortable or painful Smile

@Clairesoph "just a minger" Grin Well I was in that club the week before I gave birth, though I was never in doubt that it was just me weeing myself! Grin Good luck with the ECV! They don't recommend vaginal breach delivery where you are?
