Thank you for all your lovely replies today! The consultant said that although it is my choice a breech natural birth is not something they really encourage. Something about safety of the baby and possibility of the head getting stuck and also that it is so uncommon a lot of practitioners are out of practice. They prefer c section but with an ECV Atleast we can say we tried sort of thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm not sad about it just nervous, it was really unexpected if I'm honest, my normal midwife hadn't picked up on it so Atleast this way I can prepare for any outcome rather than being in labour and then getting the news. Booked in for next Wednesday so let's hope 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@sao81 thanks for setting this up x
@May2311 i love having sex so i would always say do it and do it again if u enjoy it. no harm- the period pain is normal cos if the stretching and moving but it should settle

we went for a walk so i'm feeling better.

@Clairesoph oh good job you went in for a check up. what i know about ECV is from others - painful and only 50/50 that it works , it can bring on labour and u must be ready for C section regardless. just follow your gut feeling x goodluck i'm sure it will all go smoothly

123Pandy · 28/04/2020 17:48

@Clairesoph I had the same thing..a few months ago. Leaky fluid..was convinced it was something more serious...but no...just wee 🤷🏽‍♀️
At least you Got it checked out

Sunshine8888 · 28/04/2020 18:32

I leaked fluid and then my waters broke a few hours later so it’s always worth getting checked out!

CharlieB93 · 28/04/2020 18:40

@Clairesoph it’s a blessing you went in to get checked really!
Have you seen the positive birth vids? On there she recommends putting something freezing cold (Such as frozen peas) on top of your bump and a hot water bottle at the bottom, seems cruel but apparently it can make them turn? Also putting your hands on the floor and knees on the sofa so the baby can ‘disengage’ to allow them to turn if they fancy it!
I have no experience of breech but that’s just what those videos said! 😊 glad you’re ok though!

Still tagging along :)

Rebecca612 · 28/04/2020 21:18

My DH, best friend and family just surprised me with a virtual baby shower! I burst into tears hahaha! I find out when my c section date is tomorrow which is making me super nervous but I’m going to push for as late as possible as I’ve been reading about births at 36 weeks and I’d feel better at 37 weeks if possible. So exciting hearing that there might be some baby announcements in the next day or so!!!

facevalue · 28/04/2020 21:44

@rebecca612 that sounds amazing - a virtual babyshower 😍👍🏼

the usual is if there is no medical reason and the baby is well - i mean for breach etc then anytime after 39 weeks. the main reason is if u have a baby before that they will need to give u a steroid injection to help baby lungs mature which means u have to stay overnight ( so during covid they r trying not to do that). did they give you a clear reason why you have to deliver before 39 weeks?

Rebecca612 · 28/04/2020 21:52

@facevalue it was so lovely!

Yeah I’ve got a huge ovarian cyst that is about the size of the baby and constantly at risk of rupture and they’re worried about the liquid in the cyst and that labour will burst it 😱🤢😅 they wanted the baby out at 32 weeks but I refused, too early and I wasn’t in any pain so they agreed. The baby is also breech as well 🤦‍♀️

I’ve been told about the steroids - my friend had them when she had her baby a couple of weeks ago so I’m prepped for the potential of ‘really bad arse cheek pain’ haha! I’m hoping tomorrow that there’s good news and I can wait at least another week 🤞

facevalue · 29/04/2020 01:06

@itsybitsya thinking of you. please give us an update when you are able xxxx hope all is ok

Caspianberg · 29/04/2020 06:10

Thanks for the new thread.

Now 39+4, Have appointment today so shall see what they say. No symptoms so far.

sao81 · 29/04/2020 07:29

I feel so fed up this morning Ive burst into tears. Been trying to keep positive but have had broken sleep for a week now because the SPD pain is getting so severe. I can't get out of bed for a wee without waking my partner up, I'm getting headaches because I'm so tired and can barely walk. I feel so stupid for getting so upset as in 2 weeks time I'll be on my way to hospital to have him! I just cant see how I can carry on in this pain for another 2 weeks 😩

Emmacb82 · 29/04/2020 08:25

@sao81 you poor thing that sounds really miserable. Could you speak to your midwife and tell her how much you’re struggling? Two weeks is a long time with no sleep and lots of pain.

I’m not sleeping well either but just insomnia. I really thought things were happening last night, I had about 2/3 contraction like pains and felt all out of sorts. But came to absolutely nothing. It’s so stressful second time round, can’t just up and leave the house without sorting my other boy out!

facevalue · 29/04/2020 08:30

@sao81 oh babe. you are not stupid. pain is awful. if you combine pain+ lack of restful sleep+ isolation= major stress and fatigue. do you take paracetamol? take it regularly. i have had this for the last 3 weeks and i'm broken. add to it a toddler demands and a working from home husband ( he gets fed up too) then it's tough. i have had bad and better days. try regular paracetamol also try sitting in a bath with calming music ( u will be surprised how calm you will feel). accept some days will be written off- so just say TODAY IS A WRITE OFF then allow yourself to just feel crap and have a cry.
i'm in bed now- my husband is giving my toddler breakfast - he accepted that he will be doing morning and bedtime and i will chip in as i can.
can your partner sleep in another room so he's not disturbed and you don't need to feel bad?

MarshmallowsOnToast · 29/04/2020 08:32

Ooh shiny new thread!

I'm 38+1 due 12th May & nothing happening yet.

Hope everyone doing ok xx

facevalue · 29/04/2020 08:34

@Rebecca612 @Caspianberg good luck with your appointments today ladies - hope it's all good news xxxx hugs

i'm still on edge waiting to hear about @itsybitsya as she went for an induction on monday

Kayjay2018 · 29/04/2020 09:26

Hi, wondering if i can join this thread very late in the day! I'm currently 38+3 and due on 10th May, with induction booked for the 11th if the little one has not made an appearance by then. I already have a DS who is 16 so it's a long time since I was last pregnant (plus I had him before 38 weeks so never been this pregnant before).

I can sympathise with lack of sleep and hip and pelvis issues, they have been bad for a while in this pregnancy and seem to be getting worse. I've been having on/off pains for over a week now but no sign of baby yet. Off to midwife in an hour so hoping that she might be able to tell me if anything is happening! It's my birthday Monday so thinking bump might be hanging on to share my day with me.

itsybitsya · 29/04/2020 09:50

Soooo baby was born at 17.32 yesterday - all happened very quickly from 6.30am when I was 3cm dilated - she got herself stuck and came out the wrong way round so it was pretty painful but I managed with just gas and air ! She was 7lb5oz born at 39weeks and 1 day !

helpasisterout · 29/04/2020 10:02

@itsybitsya congratulations well done you hope you are enjoying all the cuddles now and being well looked after x

May2311 · 29/04/2020 10:13

@itsybitsya awww congratulations and well done!! Have you chosen a name? Enjoy all the snuggles and hope you feel well in yourself! X

facevalue · 29/04/2020 10:24

@itsybitsya yaaaay congratulations! so so proud of you. when do you get home? was baby daddy allowed in in good time x please share all when ready. hope feeding and healing well x

sao81 · 29/04/2020 10:30

@Emmacb82 @facevalue thanks girls I think it all just got on top of me. I'm on crutches, 60mg codiene up to 3 times a day and regular paracetamol, don't know what else to do. I have my monitoring today so I'm going to ask about it to see if theres anything they can do. My partner has been given time off work now to help with my toddler as she is like a little whirlwind at the moment! Suppose 2 weeks isnt long in the bigger picture

@sao81 sorry just wanted to jump in, I'm due beginning of June and have been watching this thread too :) have you talked to a physio? I have a list of exercises mine gave me as they conducted the appointment is telephone. Some days are worse than others but I find after a few exercises it does ease the SPD pain at least a little. I'd be happy to share them!
