@itsybitsya Congratulations!! Sounds painful but glad she's here and your both well Smile xx

123Pandy · 29/04/2020 11:09

@itsybitsya congrats!! That's wonderful news. You did really well..just relax and enjoy it all now 🥰

sao81 · 29/04/2020 11:18

@rinoa I've had a few physio sessions about 3 months ago as I've been in pain from about 14 weeks pregnant, nothing seems to ease it. I was going to pay private for an osteopath or chiropractor specialising in spd but then the lockdown happened. They gave me crutches and a support belt but since the baby engaged last week its been agony 😩 Im glad they work for you!

@itsybitsya congratulations! Well done you! Flowers

Lu1u · 29/04/2020 12:38

@woollycat ahhh not long to go, hang on in there!

@itsybitsya you did so well, congratulations!!! And what a fab weight too, hope you are both ok and being looked after X

@sao81 that sounds awful, I hope you can get some more advice/help at your monitoring today. 2 weeks is a really long time when you are struggling x

@rebecca612 your virtual baby shower sounded great 😍 good luck for today too, let us know what happens

Welcome @kayjay2018! do you know whether you are having a girl or a boy this time round? Is your 16 year old excited about having a sibling?

Kayjay2018 · 29/04/2020 12:57

@Lu1u we have decided to keep the sexy a surprise so no idea if girl or boy. My son would like a brother, DH would like a girl.

Just back from midwife and bump size isn't growing so have to go back for a scan at 4 today and then possibly see an obstetrician. On the plus side heart rate is fine and baby moving loads, still a bit daunting

Raindancer411 · 29/04/2020 13:31

Anyone else finding it hard to concentrate on anything for more than 10 mins??

Sunshine8888 · 29/04/2020 14:56

Huge congrats @itsybitsya, hope you and baby are doing well.

Sorry to all those suffering in last weeks of pregnancy.

As for lack of sleep, I can certainly relate. I’m lucky if I get two hours at a time and averaging maybe 4/5 hours in a 24 hour period. Premature babies are very hungry all the time 😫

GinUnicorn · 29/04/2020 15:10

Congratulations itsy! So exciting to see our little ones appearing! How was hospital? I’m still a bit anxious over covid19 so any info would be wonderful

november90 · 29/04/2020 15:24

@itsybitsya congratulations lovely! I'm so pleased for you and your lovely little baby ❤️

I'm starting to struggle. I just feel so heavy and immobile. My tummy is SO big I can barely do anything, which is difficult with a toddler as many of you know 🙈 I've got a midwife app tomorrow so I'm gonna mention about my anxiety about baby's size. I'm worried they'll let me go over and he'll be like 11lbs. The only reason why I worry so much was because of how difficult my first birth was due to baby weight! I know that midwives and hospitals are reducing contact as much as possible and I'm not saying it isn't the right thing to do, but I am feeling incredibly alone in this and just don't know what to expect! One minute he's breach, one minute he's measuring ridiculously large, the next he isn't... then my tummy has a growth spurt... urgh stressful! I hate winging, I'm so sorry! I do still feel incredibly blessed! I'm just so worried about his size 😩

Does anyone else's bump drop towards the end of the day and then come morning baby is back in your ribs? I don't they don't typically drop second time around so it's a silly sign for me to be looking out for.... but he's so high up in the morning!

@Sunshine8888 are you still breast feeding? The broken sleep is so tough isn't it! My first was such a night owl. I would feed him almost hourly during the night, never mind witching hour as I used to call it which was tears and feeding from 4pm onwards 🙈 do you know what though, we some how manage don't we! :) I hope you and your little lovey are doing well ❤️

itsybitsya · 29/04/2020 15:35

Thanks everyone.

We've called her Margot.

To all those wondering about the hospital side of it, you will be very very looked after - everyone wears a mask (midwives, assistants, etc) so you don't have to. Your partner can't be with you until you are on the delivery suite and they are discharging you straight from there if you and baby are okay - there's no one allowed on postnatal ward with you / visitors - anyone being induced, you get put in a side room, again no partners, you get all your meals etc bought to you, you're not allowed to leave the room - that's what I struggled with the most.

It was a good experience, just painful - I'm not a fan of induction process that's for sure !

She's doing amazing !

november90 · 29/04/2020 16:25

@itsybitsya I love that name, it's so pretty 😍

How long did you stay in after birth? Were you allowed a shower? Ok so glad everything went well and you have little baby Margot at home now ❤️

itsybitsya · 29/04/2020 17:03

@november90 thank you

I was let home from delivery suite 4 hours after she was born, there was no rush for me to do anything they let me sit and hold her, feed her, so skin to skin etc for as long as I wanted before they came to do her checks, vitamin k jab and let us home.

Yeah they let me have a shower, and gave me some much enjoyed tea and toast !

Afterwards was actually a lovely experience, the midwives just left us to it, to do what we wanted and get to know Margot

Still feels so surreal that she's here !

GinUnicorn · 29/04/2020 17:55

Thanks for sharing itsybitsy and what a lovely name. Congratulations x

facevalue · 29/04/2020 22:52

well ladies- i tell you i'm so fed up with the yo-yo of emotions / hormones .. one minute i think oh today is a better day the next i'm feeling weepy and pathetic 😓ffs

i was thinking to start some therapeutic screaming sessions 🥱🥱🥱🥱 literally just stand at a window or garden and scream my head off 🥵

JBFletcherstypewriter · 29/04/2020 23:03

Congratulations @itsybitsya, I was thinking about you for the last couple of days, glad it all went well despite the complications, and what a beautiful name, you must be so happy it’s done now and this is when the fun starts!!

Sorry everyone is feeling so wretched, I hear ye all! I’m 36+3 with twins so I am GINORMOUS!! I can’t get comfortable on any chair or bed in the house, I can’t stand or walk very far and it’s so hard dealing with my 2 year old at the moment... my DH is trying his best after his surgery but it’s very difficult with this lockdown, especially since the weather changed... but we’re nearly there ladies!! It’s my Mother in laws birthday today and she’s been joking for months that it would be great if I had them today so they could share her day!! I’m so glad that so far that hasn’t happened, must keep legs crossed for 1 more hour!! 😂

Babymamma192 · 30/04/2020 05:30

Anyone else awake? I'm getting horrible period like cramps in my belly and my back and legs are aching so much! Don't know if something is happening or if I've just done too much yesterday and now I'm paying for it!
@JBFletcherstypewriter hope you managed to keep those twins in there for that last hour 😂
I can't even imagine how uncomfortable you must be with two babies!

Caspianberg · 30/04/2020 06:46

I have been awake since about 3am, can't sleep.

Had scan yesterday and baby is right down, feels like it now also. Due date in 2 days time, but they just said everything was fine and gave me an appointment for 9 days time, at 41 weeks if nothing has happened. Which seems AGES away to wait without doing anything.

Plan for today is to walk around lots, and bounce on ball, as I really don't fancy another 9+ days.

Hospital btw for anyone asking had temperature checks and compulsory masks to be worn at door, and midwifes all wore masks. They have a current case of corona in the maternity section where I am, but they are in a separate area apparently.

november90 · 30/04/2020 07:53

@JBFletcherstypewriter haha well done to you for keeping them put 😂 I can't even imagine the pressure in your body with twins!!!

@Babymamma192so sorry about the pain you're felling. It does sound promising though! Period pains and lower back pains are what I've read happen in early labour 😀😀😀

@Caspianberg Im glad your scan went well! Did they do ant growth measurements?

I've got my midwife app today. Gonna mention my anxiety about baby size and size of my tummy and fingers crossed they don't fob me off! Everything I say it they sort of laugh about it which really bothers me as it's not funny when I'm really worried about it :(

Just checked the weather and it looks grim today and tomorrow but hopefully dry following that! Literally can't wait! Lockdown is so much harder with the rain!!

Emmacb82 · 30/04/2020 08:46

Another one who’s been awake for half the night! Baby was sitting really low and uncomfortable. Having the odd pain here and there so not sure if anything’s happening or not!

woollycat · 30/04/2020 08:59

I am 37w today, such a huge milestone!!! Now I am full of anticipation for the next 5 weeks! Only 4 working days left for me at work, can't wait to relax a bit and look forward to baby arriving! ❤️

Caspianberg · 30/04/2020 10:38

@november90 - yes they have been doing growth scans every 2 weeks since 30 weeks (its standard here). He's been measuring ahead since the beginning, and still is. Now 3500g (7.7lb), which is accurate to +/- 600g. (so could be anywhere from 6.3lb - 9lb). Not sure thats much help at all. Head and leg measurements have been 99%+ for months.

No indication or talk of induction before 41 weeks.

Rebecca612 · 30/04/2020 11:13

I’ve been up since 3.30am because of acid reflux 😩 then had the last of my steroids at the hospital ready for my c-section next Thursday! I’ll be 37+1 so I’m over the moon that the consultant listened to me yesterday and didn’t book me in any earlier. Is weird knowing your baby’s birthday though.

I’ll be having a cancer team professor at the section to remove the ovarian cyst as it’s so big and they’re going to prep for a blood transfusion just in case. Just playing a waiting game until next Thursday now!

Final countdown now ladies, tomorrow... IT’S GONNA BE MAY!!!!
