i'm not sleeping tonight. feel anxious and a little tummy upset ( probably because i'm anxious) ... at this rate maybe i should take a sedative or an antidepressant ... my emotions are like a yo-yo ... mental health is so challenging - i really don't wish it on anyone 😞 this isolation during pregnancy is not good 😩

facevalue · 01/05/2020 02:33

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile awww congratulations x you are such a brave lady - i admire you. i'm so pathetic - i'm fed up of being me

facevalue · 01/05/2020 02:36

@Moongirl10 it was my last working day today - am i happy? not really. because of the lockdown and isolation i've asked my hubby to also stop working from next week 😞 i can't cope with my toddler - i get pains if i'm lifting and standing too long and my anxiety etc isn't helping me in general 😞

Saz2702 · 01/05/2020 03:55

@Clairesoph I had a successful ECV and while it was a strange feeling, it turned within about 45 seconds of the procedure starting so it was definitely manageable to breath through it. Try to stay relaxed and good luck!

mrsf1204 · 01/05/2020 03:58

Just got home from being checked and yep my waters have gone! So we are having a baby this weekend!!! I can't believe it. I cried when my lovely midwife told me as I just feel so relieved my grandad has made it and to know he will know they are here! Had to be checked alone but my husband can come in from the moment we go into the birthing centre. All looks good at the moment.

@Moongirl10 I'll be 38 on Monday! I always said baby would be early, but I'm shocked they are this early, i was thinking like a week tops!

AlmostAlwyn · 01/05/2020 04:24

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile congratulations! Flowers

JBFletcherstypewriter · 01/05/2020 04:32

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile Congratulations, a little boy! How lovely 😊.. enjoy these tiny newborn cuddles, they’re amazing xx

@mrsf1204 how exciting!!! Best of luck to you for the next few days, hope all goes well x

@facevalue yes mental health issues especially during pregnancy, especially during a lockdown are very difficult. I’ve had a long history myself and being at home with my toddler has been really testing... Did you ask for a referral to a mental health midwife? I had one during my last pregnancy and later on in this one (took 4 months to be referred) and even though there’s nothing they can do about what’s going on in the world it’s good to speak to someone?

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 01/05/2020 07:09

@facevalue life with toddler while pregnant is tough! Mine is super clingy, and I felt I am letting her down not being able to play or take her out. The current climate does favours to no one. Don't be hard on yourself, although it's easier said than done.

Lu1u · 01/05/2020 07:18

@monalisadoesntsmile congratulations to you on the birth of your baby boy, sounds like you did so well on your own. I am also planning on not having my partner at the birth as he has to look after our toddler so it's nice to hear from those who have done it now. Hope you get home soon X

@mrsf1204 ahhhh how exciting! Good luck to you ☺️

Happy 1st of May everyone, I'm sure we will be having lots more birth announcements soon (and hoping I will be one of them sooner rather than later as I am becoming more of a moody cow day after day 😂)

november90 · 01/05/2020 07:26

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile congratulations!!!!! So happy for you and your sweet little boy ❤️ sending lots of love to you and your new family. I bet it feels amazing to hold him!

@mrsf1204 oh my goodness!!! That's SO exciting! How do you feel? So happy things have turned out much better then what we were fearing a few weeks ago ❤️ I'll be thinking of you and your little May baby this weekend!

Clairesoph · 01/05/2020 07:49

Yay for babies and labour pains!!! Congrats girls! 💓🤪

We made it to May everyone we have got this!!

Cannot figure my kid out, as you know we found he's breech but my bump is really creepy at the moment. Dunno if that's his head then!?

MarshmallowsOnToast · 01/05/2020 07:50

@facevalue @JBFletcherstypewriter

Thanks for your posts.

I got a call back & have been booked in for a scan this afternoon.

Fingers crossed nothing wrong 🤞🤞

Hey ladies. I’ve not posted on here in some months now but thought I’d check in and say Hi!

I’m 37+2 today with another little lady in there! My DD is 4.5. She was early at 36+3 so this is the longest I’ve been pregnant.

I am a nurse (office based) and when the whole lockdown was on the horizon the week before I was told not to come in till further notice, well in never went back in, they just paid me till my annual leave started at 34+1! Feel like I’ve been off forever. Especially as I didn’t have any maternity leave with my daughter as my waters broke at work on my last day!!

@Clairesoph my little pickle was breech from 28wks and it was sooooo uncomfortable and I had such little in terms of movement and kicks. I had a growth scan at 36wks and she was still breech so I had an ECV on Monday. The 50/50 Luck was on my side and it worked! It was uncomfortable I won’t lie but soooo worth it and I can feel her little feet kicking at the top of my bump now and it feels lovely. Plus I can breath better and hopefully she’ll behave now and I’ll have a straightforward delivery, so worth it in my opinion.

I can’t believe it’s May and so many of the babies will be born this month. Congrats to all of you who’ve had your babies already.

@mrsf1204 so so excited for you. Good luck and hope baby makes a swift enterance.

CharlieB93 · 01/05/2020 08:15

@mrsf1204 ohhh my we were due date buddies but looks like you beat me to it!! Good luck my lovely! Let us know when baby is here 💕

GinUnicorn · 01/05/2020 08:32

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile @mrsf1204 Congratulations both of you! Such lovely news!

@facevalue please don’t be so hard on yourself it is tough right now. It’s okay to feel anxious.

@november90 I am stupidly happy for you that you have made it to May

helpasisterout · 01/05/2020 08:37

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile congratulations! Hope you are both well xx
@mrsf1204 good luck!! Bet you can't wait to meet your little one now!
@Clairesoph that looks mad! Cant tell either if its head or bum, have you any more scans booked in?
@MarshmallowsOnToast hope your scan goes well!

So been a little quiet on here as felt really hormonal. Had my monitoring on Wednesday but it all felt really rushed, BP was 155/66, told the machine was wrong so another machone said 143/77, midwife came back 15 mins later with my notes and sent me home, nothing logged about my urine dip. Id told her I'd had cramps for a few days and been in alot of pain "reports no pain" I'd felt really nauseous and been getting headaches "feels well" and said I hadnt noticed baby move that morning "happy with movements this morning" I just felt like I wasn't listened to. So got home had a cry and a sulk and rang my midwife who tried to reassure me, but its been playing on my mind ever since. I finally have my consultant review this morning so I'm just writing down my questions to them now and will also be questioning my visit on Wednesday as I feel like I was rushed in and out

Oooo @clairsoph it must be his head, surely not a bum but then his bum must be really low down? Is it uncomfortable?

CharlieB93 · 01/05/2020 09:25

@Clairesoph that looks mega uncomfortable! I’m 38 week on Monday and I’ve not been told if my baby is breech... I’ve got a very hard round shape at the top of my bump which I’m not worried is head! Are midwifes supposed to routinely check if baby is breech?

Clairesoph · 01/05/2020 09:31

His bum is engaged which is why his head is slightly lower down and he's hugging his feet so my kicks are at the side just below my ribs. My regular midwife has told me head down all along but tbh he could have turned? I was only scanned because I was in hospital being monitored for something else otherwise I may never have known 🤣 I thought that lump was a bum so on his quiet days I've been prodding and poking and all sorts but he had hiccups yesterday and it dawned on me they are at the top, to the side of my bump. Typically when head down you feel them low in your noony so I probably should've suspected something sooner! Never mind 🤣 it's not ideal, but there we are!

Clairesoph · 01/05/2020 09:34

@CharlieB93 generally midwives can tell when they feel your bump at each appointment, the head wiggles but the bum is solid and usually if you push the bum you can feel the whole baby move so she's probably been checking without you realising. I was sent at 39 weeks for a scan with my first because we suspected he was breech but he was just back to back and he wriggled round during labour xx

CharlieB93 · 01/05/2020 09:42

@Clairesoph ohhh she’s only ever listened to heartbeat - could you tell by that? She’s never felt my bump
Haha poor kid - so you’ve actually been poking the baby in his head 😂 I’m always poking about - I feel like the baby will come out covered in dents 😂

november90 · 01/05/2020 09:46

@GinUnicorn hahaha, thank you, so am I! So many people have messaged me today saying the same thing 😂😂😂 I must have been banging on about my May baby a little too much 😂 I now have a feeling I'll go over... but obviously my feeling means nothing after the past week or so 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Clairesoph that is such an amazing photo! I love it when baby sticks out like that (although I've never had it so prominate!), I just never get my camera ready in time 🙈 I have some weird news about baby's position yesterday... it's very confusing isn't it. It's true though, what can we do? We can't spend all day on all 4s!

@sao81 oh bless you, what a shame! I'm so glad you'll be seeing someone today. Blood pressure changes can make you feel unwell in yourself so hopefully they link with each other as opposed to anything else being wrong ❤️ Good luck today lovely xx
