@Lilice glad that you like yours, it does seem really good! I’ve got a fabric sling to try for around the house and when baby is tiny so hopefully won’t need to worry too much about the newborn insert if that isn’t so good.
I’ve seen the skin to skin top you mean, agree though I thought it was a lot for something you’ll only have for 5mins. I keep saying it’s like planning another wedding with all the stuff people recommend you get and how expensive things are. So much of the time you hear from people that they didn’t use half of it!

Lazydaisydaydream · 23/05/2020 16:26

@Sep20baby we got a citi mini jogger gt second hand for dog walking once I couldn't use the sling anymore. It's brilliant!

Can I just ask what everyone’s thoughts on car seats are? I’m trying to decide whether it would be more practical to get a 360 car seat or a car seat that lifts out of the car.
I don’t know what is more important to consider - the ease of being able to get the baby out or the practicalities of being able to take the baby straight in from the car without waking it up.....

WillowT · 23/05/2020 21:16

@Flutterbunny you can get car seats that swivel and you can take out, you just need to buy the right base/seat combo! I've been looking into it but we're not buying anything just yet so can't recommend and the one we were recommended when in JL (pre-lockdown), I cant remember which one it was without looking it up!

I've been reading the posts about the pushchairs...there is so many options! I really hope we can visit stores soon, I'm not a fan of online shopping!

ShiningStarz · 24/05/2020 07:54

Hi @Flutterbunny someone on here said it's better to put baby in car seat in the house rather than at the car so a detachable one sounds easier.
I'v changed my mind so many times.. we are getting maxi cosi pebble pro on the base and get the adaptors so it can click onto pram. Then after a year we will hopefully sell the car seat and put the money towards a 360 that will do for a good few years :)

Anyone know if the snuz pod mattress protector fits both the 2 and 3? Mine arrived yesterday but doesn't actually say 3 on the packaging? It's so weird seeing baby stuff in my hallway!!!

ChipsAreLife · 24/05/2020 09:31

I think with car seats it really depends on your circumstances. I live in a market town so often take the car to a bigger town or drive to see family and friends and find one you can take out so much easier! I prefer getting baby settled in the house in car seat if it's pouring etc.

However some people don't use their cars as much so a fixed one would work. We just then got the 360 ones for stage 1 and they last till 4. The swivel is brilliant!!!

Re prams we've got a bugaboo and I love it. You could always look at secondhand. My friend sold her brand new one after four months for half the price as she wanted something smaller as she changed her car.

I think it sounds like JL will open in July so that should make it easier to test everything out!

@Flutterbunny one of my friends had a swivel isofix base, so they could turn the seat but still remove it to carry it into house etc. Works out a bit more expensive but she said it was definitely worth it for them.

emma278 · 24/05/2020 10:08

Can anyone recommend a moses basket? I love the littlegreensheep one but they have sold out on stands and looks a real backlog of orders 😞

Lilice · 24/05/2020 13:04

Infababy have a sell on for their 360 rotating car seats but it's out of stock infababy.com/infababy-max360-isofix-car-seat-group-0123%E2%80%93anthracite?search=360&description=true
I might get one if they have more in stock later on. I think I would use it once the one I bought with the pram gets too small

Lilice · 24/05/2020 13:05

@emma278 I got my moses basket from mothercare back in the days it was still open.

ShiningStarz · 24/05/2020 14:38

@emma278 I got the snuz pod 3 for upstairs and the babylo snug for downstairs.
I'v figured I'll probably be indoors a lot with this stupid virus! So hopefully it'll be worth it.
I love the sleepyhead, looks so snug but I opted for the cheaper babylo.
How are you feeling?

CNovittBolden · 24/05/2020 16:57

@emma278 I've got the snuz pod 3 also! Smile

Lilice · 24/05/2020 18:53

Is anyone also drinking non alcoholic cider and beer? I thought it was completely safe as the brands I get have 0.05% of alcohol but my husband started questioning it and when I googled it, it says it's to avoid them as they often contain more ethanol than what we think 🤯

Flutterbunny · 24/05/2020 19:02

Thank you for the car seat recommendations, we are looking at maybe getting the Joie IGemm to start with and then maybe the Ispin in a years time - I think being able to put the baby in the seat indoors is going to be a must especially as we get towards the winter!

Prams - we are looking at Silvercross although my friend who has just had a baby is raving about the Cybex Prism!

Re. The Alcohol - I am also paranoid about that - I’m having a glass of 0.5% ‘non alcoholic’ Prosecco tonight as I’m celebrating a birthday but I’m going to drink plenty of water with it so I think the chances of the baby getting any of it are very slim.
X

Franny0696 · 24/05/2020 19:45

I have a 3 door car- in the back it's quite large what car seat is everyone going for if they have this kind of model?

ChipsAreLife · 25/05/2020 09:00

It's 20% off with the ASOS app today. I'm not buying loads as nowhere to go! but did get a few vests some leggings and nice maxi dress which isn't maternity so can wear again!

Re low alcohol drinks I really wouldn't worry that's a very tiny amount. You have to drink a lot and frequently for it to damage. I have completely gone off alcohol in this pregnancy because of my sickness and aversions! I'm sure I'll be craving a nice glass of rose before long!

OP posts:
emma278 · 25/05/2020 09:15

I wouldnt worry about the alcohol either, ive had the odd small glass of rose with ice along the way or the odd bottle of beer. X

Piper1879 · 25/05/2020 09:25

@emma278 have a look at the natural baby shower website they have some in stock of the Moses basket you want

@lilice I've had two stellas 0.0% alcoholic beers and I was craving beer so bad so it satisfied me , tastes lovely !

Sara7455 · 25/05/2020 12:25

@Lilice I wouldn’t worry too much about the non alcoholic ciders - as others said as long as you aren’t having loads. I’ve had some of the kopparberg ones but was actually more worried about the sugar content than the alcohol!

@ChipsAreLife thanks for the ASOS tip- have bought all my maternity stuff from them so far. Don’t want to spend too much since I’m not leaving the house much but might need some more leggings etc - starting to run out of room in my pre-pregnancy stretchy stuff that I’ve been trying to get away with. Summer dresses are fab for space but not at all practical when I’m trying to climb stiles with the dog 😂

ShiningStarz · 25/05/2020 15:15

@emma278 there's a 10% off code with natural baby shower too 😊
I'm just waiting on the bugaboo fox 2 coming back into stock and I'll be using my 10% off!!

Hope everyone is ok.
My bump is definitely bigger, rounder and harder today! Carrying it all to the front, wonder what that means 🤣

My John Lewis delivery arrived today, all v v real!! My DP bought some pampers size 1 nappies with the food shop today! OMG!! Size 0 seem way too little???

emma278 · 25/05/2020 15:22

Thanks guys, its the stand thats sold out everywhere and when you look on their instagram comments it seems theres been some issues with the supplier 🤨

My bump is definitely bigger!

We were meant to be going to Greece in a few days for our last baby free holiday 😭😭

Xx

Lilice · 25/05/2020 18:14

Awww @emma278 I know how you feel! I was meant to go to france tomorrow 😭😭😭 and sicily in july. Our holidays got cancelled last year at the last minute because my youngest had chickenpox! I'm so gonna catch up next year and book several holidays as soon as baby is big enough to travel

Lilice · 25/05/2020 18:15

Has anyone's belly button popped out yet?

Roxy8203 · 25/05/2020 18:52

@emma278 I booked a surprise holiday to Spain for my partners birthday in April which would have also been our last baby free holiday but that got cancelled.

@Lilice nope, I don't think mine is going to, it seems too deep.

Franny0696 · 25/05/2020 19:25

Does anyone feel so tired from about 2pm? I literally have been napping so much
