Thinking of you @Chanel05 I hope you didnt have to wait too long.

@emma278 I feel for you! I'm fine at the moment but after I gave birth the first time I had the worst piles ever!!!! No one warned me about that! It felt like my butt gave birth 😱 that's what scares me most about childbirth now. Sorry probably way TMI

Lilice · 18/05/2020 23:36

Welcome @Luna88 and congrats

Chanel05 · 18/05/2020 23:45

Thanks ladies, I've just got home. Have some sort of wound up my nose so I've been given a cream! They told me that pregnant women should not be leaving the house without a mask on.

OrDis · 19/05/2020 08:42

Oh no @Chanel05 i’m sorry! I’m getting loads but never quite bad enough to have to go to A&E, they seem to stop after about 30 minutes of pinching my nose thankfully. What did they end up doing? Could they cauterise? The worst thing i’m finding is that the clots get stuck in the back of my nose and I either end up blowing them out a few days later or coughing them up (yuk)

pangolin84 · 19/05/2020 08:43

My boss has told me I’ve got go back in to work. I work in a hospital but not with patients so he said it is very low risk. I’ve been working from home until now and I think I’ve been more productive here than if I’d been at work! I had hoped he’d be more supportive but in reality he just wants to check up on me.

OrDis · 19/05/2020 08:43

Ah just read they gave you cream, hopefully that should sort it

Flutterbunny · 19/05/2020 09:38

Hi Ladies, I hope you don’t mind me creeping over to this thread - I’m due on 21st August but not much activity on the August baby thread so seeing as I may end up having my baby in Sep, hope this isn’t too cheeky!
Anyway, just wanted to say that for those suffering with nosebleeds, I’ve been using Sterimar Nasal Spray which is a natural sea salt spray, about twice a day for the last few months and so far I’ve had no nosebleeds. I really suffer with sinus issues and hay fever which have both been exasperated by my pregnancy but the sprays have been an absolute godsend in being able to clear my nose out! So just thought I would share that if it helps anyone! X

MooseWL · 19/05/2020 10:08

@chanel05 hopefully it sorts it out for you! Anywhere without a mask? I've not been wearing a mask at all (though I'm only going for walks plus supermarket once a week) I feel like there's so much difference advise!

Sainsburys have 25% off all clothes at the moment and they have some gorgeous baby things in!

How's everyone's bumps? I feel like mines gone from nothing to feeling huge over the last week!

Lorna198 · 19/05/2020 10:48

@Lazydaisydaydream glad to hear the positive news!

I’ve just rang to book my 26 week appointment and the said they are currently not doing face to face but will be by then (June 2nd) so it seems we may have a sense of normality soon! This is in Lincolnshire so hopefully other areas are heading the same way.

I don’t wear a mask but only go supermarket once a week. At week 28 I’ve decided I won’t even be doing that if current advice is still the same then. Still not sure I trust hubby with the shopping mind 😂

Lilice · 19/05/2020 11:07

I hardly ever go out and dont wear a mask when I do but I know that in france and other countries its compulsory to wear one in public places. So much contradictory advice. I did wear one when I went for my 20 week scan and was surprised to see that nearly no else did. My husband wears one when he goes shopping but said the same.
@pangolin84 that sucks! Will you be able to go back to working from home when you are past 28 weeks?
@MooseWL my bump has also had a growth spurt in the last couple of weeks. I'll go check sainsbury's sales, thanks

Chanel05 · 19/05/2020 11:07

@Flutterbunny thanks for the tip - I might try it out. I haven't had a nosebleed for over 20 years!

@MooseWL yep the doctor said to me that a mask should be worn outside for any purpose. I agree with you that there seems to be so much different advice!! It's a bit like a drip feed. They brought it up as I wasn't able to wear a mask in the waiting area and I said well I'm having a nosebleed, I can't!

Lilice · 19/05/2020 11:08

Welcome @Flutterbunny

MooseWL · 19/05/2020 11:08

@pangolin84 how do you feel about going back? Surely if you are able to work from home you should be able to continue.

MooseWL · 19/05/2020 11:10

@Lorna198 I have to meal plan and right a very specific list for my partner. Last time I sent him I wanted squash (as in juice) as I'm struggling with water on its own and he came back with a butternut squash 😂😂

Sara7455 · 19/05/2020 11:52

Welcome @Flutterbunny and thanks for the nose spray tip, might have to give it a try as well. Been so congested all pregnancy plus hay fever and the nosebleeds - its a nightmare. Husband also tells me I’m snoring now and that’s bothering him so willing to try anything to help!

@Lorna198 and @MooseWL can you try click and collect? That’s been working well for us as I do all the choosing and husband literally just drives to the shop to get it for us.

@Lilice I’ve not heard that advice about masks at all. Have just come from my 25 week appointment and was given one to wear while I was there but nothing about wearing them out and about.

ShiningStarz · 19/05/2020 12:19

@Chanel05 glad you are ok. I bought face masks but I defo don't wear one every time I leave the house!

@Luna88 welcome and congrats 💜

Hope you are ok @emma278 sounds awful ☹️

@pangolin84 you could speak with your gp / midwife if you are unsure about going back to work.

@Flutterbunny congrats and welcome! I'm jealous you are due earlier than all of us!! You'll have to put up with our moaning while you are looking after a newborn!! I am constantly sneezing, blowing my nose! Thankfully only couple nose bleeds and they don't last long 🤞

@Lorna198 my partner has got good at the food shopping!! We use the lists app and I update it all the time so that when he does he's a list to follow!! I'm a control freak and I managed to let go 🤣🤣

Hahaha @MooseWL I think mine is bigger but so hard to tell when looking at it everyday!! I'v a scan next week so hopefully all will be on track!!

ChipsAreLife · 20/05/2020 07:50

@chanel05 that's good you got sorted. Interesting on the face mask advice. Did they recommend which one? It's my understanding the ones widely available are more effective and stopping the wearer spreading rather than protecting.

Welcome @Flutterbunny! I went 12 days over with my first so you could end up with a Sept baby!

Anyone still got morning sickness? It's not as bad for me as it was but it's still here!

Hope you're all ok and enjoying the warm weather! You probably know this but your skin can burn easier in pregnancy so best keep in the shade or get cream on if you're out x

OP posts:
MooseWL · 20/05/2020 11:22

@chipsarelife i thought the same about face coverings. And actual face masks are so hard to get hold of.
I was just thinking that I've not been sick in 3 days, so hoping at 21 weeks my sickness is finally over. I never imagined it would go on this long and it's made me miserable! So fingers crossed, sorry you're still being sick it's really rubbish isn't it!

ShiningStarz · 20/05/2020 12:27

Anyone have any experience of the baby lo snug. The closer I get to due date the more I'm thinking we are going to be indoors a lot. I reckon the first 6 months of little one will be staying in and protecting ourselves.
So I thought I better add Moses basket to the list. Had planned to bring snuz pod down but doing this everyday might be tricky.
This baby lo is a decent price, looks sturdy.

Hi guys, this is going to be so TMI but I really want to know if anyone else is struggling with this... Baby seems to so low down at the mo and kicking me right in the bladder/crotch area and it’s really hurting!! Like someone is stabbing me, especially around the urethra!! I even thought it might be a UTI so took a sample to the GP but it was clear, so they think it’s just baby. She does kick low and when I get the pain in crotch it’s when she’s not kicking me anywhere else which makes me think thats what it must be!!! How can I make her move!!!

Sara7455 · 20/05/2020 18:02

@OrDis - yes same, often if I’m sitting at the table and lean forward for me tbh (like to reach the laptop or my dinner or something) as if baby is cross about being squashed when I do that. Very uncomfortable when it’s kicking down there! Midwife seems to suggest it’s just a side effect of them being small enough to roam around and it was down there when they did the scan. do wish baby would stay further up where there’s more room for now though!

Lazydaisydaydream · 20/05/2020 21:04

I passed my diabetes test 👍👍 completely average blood sugar levels apparently! So hopefully won't have to do it again this time around 😁

@OrDis I've been getting really low kicks right on my cervix which HURT. they feel weird and uncomfortable and make me wince! Didn't have this last time I was pregnant so assume it's just positioning and hopefully baby will move soon!

ShiningStarz · 20/05/2020 21:07

Snap @OrDis they told
Me at 20 week scan that baby was breech so that confirmed it was feet kicking me down there!!

For those of you buying the snuz pod, I bought the below sheets from John Lewis and amazon, maybe 8 sheets is a bit OTT but thought they'd do snuzpod upstairs and the babylo basket I bought for downstairs. My card took a hammering today!!!

Meant to say all the reviews say these two brands for snuzpod 3 better than the snuz sheets. 👍

ShiningStarz · 20/05/2020 21:20

Snuzpod 3 is £175 on baby planet online. Use code FB5 to get extra 5% discount.
It's usually £199 xx I chose it in dove grey
