New thread for us all to keep in touch. Think we're all nearing the end of the first trimester or dipping our toes into the second ... how far we've come since the days of agonising over stims!

@Chooklass and @DobbieFreeElf happy to know all is fine 🥰

Viletta · 06/04/2020 22:19

@Chooklass awww glad all went well! Do you think it's a girl or a boy?

Chooklass · 07/04/2020 06:16

No idea @Viletta ! We want a surprise 😊

OP posts:
Viletta · 07/04/2020 10:04

@Chooklass I can't wait to find out, I feel otherwise I won't have enough time to find a name. We can't agree on any yet and it's so hard finding names that would work well in both countries. I don't mind either and someday both, but I want time to get used to the idea of who it's going to be. Totally get why people want to have a surprise though.

Lily999 · 07/04/2020 15:34

Hiya! Got a call from the hospital saying I will have to go alone tomorrow. Obviously sad, but was expecting it. I asked and we are not allowed to record the baby's movement for confidentiality reasons, not sure it's clear why, but just have to go with it. So DH will not see more than others, meaning the scan picture.
Can't wait for tomorrow now, can I ask was the 12week scan vaginal?

Chooklass · 07/04/2020 16:34

@Lily - it's an abdominal scan, but it said in my letter if they couldn't get a good picture they would do vaginal scan (think this is better if uterus is far back in body or for particularly overweight ladies). Will be thinking of you tomorrow! It will be fine - my OH was still really excited to see pic and hear all about it xx

Congratulations @Chooklass on your scan! It's such a relief to get to that point isn't it.

Good luck @Lily999 will be thinking of you today and keeping everything crossed for a wriggly little thing on the scan.

@DobbieFreeElf sorry you have had all that worry with the bleeding, great it turned out to be nothing and you managed to see all was well. When is your 12 week scan?

I am just emerging from spending the last few days in bed from migraines and nausea. Not fun. I feel like it might be improving today though. 🤞 I am just sooo tired!

Is anyone else getting mild type cramps? I guess it's just everything stretching to accommodate, it's just quite disconcerting!

Chooklass · 08/04/2020 08:21

@FlapJackered - yes! I've had mild cramps for the last few days. There must be a lot of growing going on! X

Oh no @FlapJackered - it doesn't seem fair that you are still so ill! Second trimester now! Hopefully it won't be for much longer. I have a couple of small symptoms and yes, lower abdominal tweaks and pains are the main one. As you say it's a bit worrying, but if you try and place it alongside cramping in your period and I find it's definitely a different feeling. Think we are all just going to start growing now! A friend of mine has just posted an update that she is 20 weeks pregnant and already looks HUGE, so I think the debate about showing will quickly pass 😉

@Lily999 I hope today goes well and you get some beautiful pictures. I'm a bit sceptical about the privacy argument when it's you and your baby but ok....! DH will love seeing the scans anyway....you could illegally have your phone set to audio record in your pocket to get the heartbeat?!

Lily999 · 08/04/2020 09:45

Haha @Wimbledon1 like the cheeky solution for the issue :) Honestly not sure myself who's privacy would I break when they are examining my baby, but we had a chat with DH and he understands we live in a different world now, sooner we make peace with it the better.

I feel the same now as @Chooklass, it's not even 10AM and time is not going at all... I am supposed to work this morning, but can't focus at all, my productivity is pathetic. :)

Chooklass · 08/04/2020 10:48

@Wimbledon1 and @Lily999 I was told I couldn't film because it was distracting for the sonographer and they had to concentrate to make sure they didn't miss any anomalies 🤷‍♀️. Also that it could disrupt picture as we might be twisting/ tensing abdomen without realising. Seems to make more sense than privacy!

Hi all, bumped on a picture of my uni friend who is pregnant with her second, here she is at 15w! My belly is not at all like this but it started sticking out in the middle part too, not as much though. Hope everyone is doing well and finding ways to enjoy the day! I feel as if I am now fully in second trimester, my food aversions are gone and my libido is up! 14w4d today!

Lily999 · 08/04/2020 11:59

@Chooklass that does make a lot more sense! By now I have made peace with it, actually glad they told me yesterday so I had time to prepare myself emotionally. I am only 12weeks today spot on, hope it's not too early as I saw you had yours all slightly later than me.

@Viletta your friend has a proper bump, as far as I know it is different with the second child as the muscles are not as tight.?

2,5 hours to gooooooo :)

Chooklass · 08/04/2020 12:02

12 weeks should be fine @Lily999 ! Mine was only later because our local community hospital only does scans two afternoons a week, so it's difficult to get appointments 😊

Hello ladies, nice to see everyone on our new thread. Although I'm staying at home and luckily still working full time I feel this whole isolation is a blessing. I'm no longer commuting 3 hours a day which helps with my stress and I'm doing 10k steps every day by walking the dog. So far so good 😊

Had my 12 week scan yesterday and all went well. My baby is a wriggler so the appointment took twice as long as they couldn't get it to settle to do the nuchal test but we got there in the end. No partner allowed here either but I totally get why.

@Lily999 best of luck to you for today ❤️

Who is due next? 😍

Viletta · 08/04/2020 12:26

@QuantumGirl congratulations on the scan! Pleased to hear all went well! Also love the positive attitude! Tbh I am quite loving it too, dog gets walked at lunch break when it's nice and warm, DH is home with me too. I should start incorporating preg yoga to my day and some crafty time to make it perfect!

DobbieFreeElf · 08/04/2020 15:13

Glad to hear so many happy scan stories! @FlapJackered mine’s next Thursday, I’ll be 12+4.

I’m exhausted too, by this time most days I’m desperate to close my eyes for half an hour! I’m doing what I need to work wise to keep our business afloat and looking after DS, 3 years old, full time.

I also have the most dreadful insomnia, most of the time I wake to wee then stay awake for hours watching the time tick by. It’s so frustrating! Is anyone else the same?

Looking forward to your update @Lily999

DobbieFreeElf · 08/04/2020 15:16

Oh and we haven’t told anyone yet still but it’s my MIL’s 70th this weekend and we have sent a card with “lots of love from” and put a picture of each of us, the dog and our last scan pic, I feel more confident in telling them knowing everything was ok on Monday at 11 weeks 🤞but I’m still going to ask them to keep it to them selves until our official scan next week.

Viletta · 08/04/2020 15:49

@DobbieFreeElf I also find it hard to fall asleep and wake up dozen of time to wee and stay awake. I then have bad throughout the day which doesn't really help with the messed up night schedule. Hope it's temporary.

Lily999 · 08/04/2020 17:27

Hiya, everything went well today! It was so lovely to see the little bean, clearly could see and count each finger it was so much fun. The picture isn't the best, but I did see the arms and legs properly. 55.2mm, NT was 1,4mm and now waiting for the bloods to confirm. I measured at 12+1 so 1day ahead, my official due date is 20.10.20 :)

Chooklass · 08/04/2020 18:26

Great news @Lily999 ! I forgot what my NT was! I'm sure she said 1.6. Glad it was fun!

QuantumGirl · 08/04/2020 19:25

Great news @Lily999 😍!!! Glad all is good.

@Viletta my MW also recommended pregnancy Pilates but these days online will have to do. If any of you ladies know a good YouTube instructor I'm happy to give it a go ( I wish I had bought one of those yoga balls before the lockdown 🤔).

Viletta · 08/04/2020 20:08

@Lily999 lovely picture! Look at these cheekbones! Glad all went well! NT below 3.0 is good! It's rare to be less than 0.9 I think. Mine was 1.2 with 55mm and my risk came back 1 in 5000 for DS and less than 1 in 20 000 for the other. It's funny how they take the embryo age for IVF not mamas age 😂 mine was frozen when I was 32! A year ago.

Wimbledon1 · 10/04/2020 16:19

Congratulations @QuantumGirl and @Lily999 on the scans, hurrah! Lots of nice news coming through even if we are all having to do the scans solo. Does anyone have one next week?

@DobbieFreeElf that's a lovely idea for your MIL, hope she loves it!

Gorgeous good Friday in London, and I'm getting to sit in my garden far more than I'd normally get to as we'd be so busy seeing people. There are some silver linings 😜

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice Easter and feeling ok. Other than a bit of lower tummy ache now and again which I think is stretching, I feel properly second symester and symptom light now. Touch wood!
