Happy new year! Hopeful for an uneventful pregnancy and an unforgettable second half of the year with our little ones for us all.

Kez437 · 02/01/2020 11:47

Hi All and Happy New Year

Just wondering if anyone has had any nesting type feelings? Normally I adore Christmas but this year I just couldn't seem to get into the hype, I think this may be due to being quite sick for the first couple of months and having zero motivation for putting up decorations etc.
Anyway now the festive season is over I am itching to get the decorations down and clean my home. It just feels cluttered and too busy and I want a good clear out and clean. Anyone else feeling like this? Don't know if it's because in my head it's now the New Year and the year of baby or because I finally have energy Hmm

Gigitree · 02/01/2020 12:39

@Kez437

I'm definitely with you in the sense that I really couldn't muster the enthusiasm for Christmas at all this year, if we hadn't been hosting Christmas Day I don't think I'd have bothered at all honestly which is totally unlike me, last year I had all my decs up on the 1st December.

I haven't got the nesting vibes yet but I am deffo itching to get rid of all the Christmassy stuff and get my house back to 'normal'.

Smiffette · 02/01/2020 12:49

I don't feel like I'm in the nesting stage but definitely into the annual new year declutter!

I had my consultant appointment this morning, got a sneaky look at baby too which I wasn't expecting! so that was a nice surprise especially as I haven't felt any movements yet so good to see the little wriggler in there 🥰

17+3

MsMiaWallace · 02/01/2020 13:06

Any third time mums feeling movement yet? I'm 14+4 not sure if I've felt flutters or just wind.

Smiffette · 02/01/2020 13:23

@MsMiaWallace I am first time mum, not felt anything yet...

Any first time mums felt anything yet? I am 17+3, I read that you can start to feel things from 16 weeks.

umabb · 02/01/2020 13:46

I definitely felt movement when I was watching the Star Wars movie on New Year's Eve! That loud bang shocked both of us I guess hehe! I also feel some odd movements now and then but i can't be sure if it's the baby for me / my guts! Grin

16+4 today

newbyxx · 02/01/2020 13:55

@Smiffette I'm 17+5 and haven't felt any movement yet but I've got an anterior placenta so that can cushion movements apparently

hjbows88 · 02/01/2020 14:08

No nesting here - still 6 months to go and always thought of nesting as something you feel towards the end of pregnancy.

I’ve not felt anything yet but only 15+5. Can be up to 21/22 weeks before feeling anything with your first I read somewhere. Looking forward to it though! ❤️

Pegase · 02/01/2020 14:17

I've had two occasions when I have thought I have felt movement- I am second time. When I was first time it wasn't until 17-18 weeks though. If you haven't felt it before, to me it felt like someone opening a bottle of lemonade inside me or the bubbles in a flute of champagne. Nothing like kicking in the early weeks.

No nesting yet but lots of NY resolutions!

Best wishes to @Blizy and @Twittlebee - hope all is well.

Blizy · 02/01/2020 14:27

I'm just 14+1 and I'm sure I can feel movement, little flutters here and there.

Smiffette · 02/01/2020 14:33

@newbyxx oh I think I read on my notes my placenta is anterior so maybe that's why!!

Hopefully in the next few weeks I will feel something 😃

newbyxx · 02/01/2020 14:55

@Smiffette two of my family members have had anterior placentas and they didn't feel baby untill 24 and 26 weeks with there first so 17/18 could still be early for us to feel them. I'm going to try and not become worried by it and just go with it and understand I may not feel due to anterior x

Smiffette · 02/01/2020 15:09

@newbyxx as long as I know baby is ok, which so far is, I'm happy!

APD1981 · 02/01/2020 15:48

I've had two occasions where I've been sure I could feel something. It feels a bit like wind, like a bubble popping, but when I happened last night, over a period of about 45 mins I could feel a little pop in exactly the same place each time (wind normal loves around and eventually exits!). Was lying flat on the couch and really focused on it when I first thought I could feel it. I'm sure it was baby! I'm 17+4 with first baby so it's about the right time but so hard to tell.

MissisBee · 02/01/2020 16:03

16+1 with #2 and have felt some occasional bubbly type movements for a couple of weeks at least. Nothing regular or consistent yet though. Braxton Hicks started in earnest yesterday too. Anyone else getting these yet?

londodo · 02/01/2020 16:17

Happy new year to everyone!
I'm from North London, first pregnancy at 12+4.
I am having my first NHS dating scan tomorrow, a little bit worried because I'm 35 and had PCOS.
Hope to hear some good news tomorrow - a nice view of the little one and heart beat!

Magpie21 · 02/01/2020 17:13

Hello All! Happy New Year. I have been following since Thread 1 (pretty much daily!) - It’s been so reassuring to follow everyone else’s experience.

First pregnancy, Baby no. 1, 15+4. I felt terrible for the first 12 weeks and then literally felt back to my normal self (for the most part) the day after my 12 week scan.

I have felt some stretching a times but can go days without feeling pregnant at all. Little bump is coming along nicely - Have been showing for a good 3 weeks. Feeling those little flutters is the next milestone I am eagerly looking forward toSmile

I have been nesting already! Vacuum packed all the clothes I won’t fit into for a while (!) and hung up lots of Maternity clothes (cardi’s and leggings will be my friend) - H and M and Topshop have been a lifesaver. Making room for the few baby bits I have collected so far.

AmyMaria2 · 02/01/2020 17:31

@newbyxx I have an anterior placenta as well, really hope it's not to long until we feel something 🙄 x

18+1

Zoey92 · 02/01/2020 17:45

Hi all, I've an anterior placenta too, not felt anything yet, feeling very achey today maybe stretching?

15+4

Pegase · 02/01/2020 18:33

Have just packed up all my thin person clothes today! Need more mat clothes though - have vetted my wardrobe and kept the things that will suit the small bump stage and bought maternity jeans but need some smart roomy blouses for work!

hjbows88 · 02/01/2020 18:35

I’m also a bit more achey low down today, not quite cramps but a pulling of stretching type feeling!

Lemonysherbet · 02/01/2020 20:07

I've had lots of aching and pulling this past week, baby is nearly doubling in size weeks 17-19 which explains why I'm exhausted too!

@Pegase lol at the thin person clothes going away 🤣 I've been living in leggings but just bitten the bullet and ordered a load of mat clothes

@MissisBee I felt my lower stomach suddenly tightened along with backache just now after dinner which scared the hell out of me. Looked up online and it might be Braxton Hicks contraction / false contraction ? ConfusedSadvery worrying

Larrydavid · 02/01/2020 20:49

@Zoey92 I have an anterior placenta too. Have felt nothing yet.

16+4
