@pegase me too! Was too depressing to keep digging things out of the wardrobe to find they're now too tight! Living in leggings and lose dresses for now but have just ordered a load of mat clothes in the sales to try!
No idea on the beat sizing to buy though, the maternity leggings I bought are huge, could double as a jumpsuit currently!! 😂😂

HayleyD84 · 03/01/2020 00:05

Happy New Year everyone.

I've been feeling allot of movements, been getting more and more the last couple of weeks. I love this feeling!

My bump is quite big though. I was big with my Son though.

I'm struggling with my emotions atm, feeling quite low some days, not sure if it's the stress of my husbands job (he might be losing it as guy on long term sick might be coming back) :- this will effect how much maternity time I can take.
I really don't like my job also so not sure if it's stress or hormones? does anyone else feel a bit low?

I've been buying things for the baby which had felt really good.

I'm also petrified that something is going to go wrong and worried if my son will be ok and feeling guilt towards him. So all over the place lol.

@HayleyD84 you're deffo not alone I've felt low most of the past week, crying pretty much everyday. I know it's down to hormones and I'm also so worried about how things are progressing, my husband is really supportive though and keeps telling me we've had nothing but good signs like scans hearing his heartbeat etc but I still feel so panicky and anxious, I'm putting it down to being a first time mum and not knowing what to expect and feel. It's horrible though wish I could enjoy my pregnancy a bit more x

Hey All

Just wanted to ask how 'on tjme' your appointments have all been so far or are due to be? I'm in Northern Ireland and been signed up for the NHS Getting Ready for Baby course. Effectively it combines all of your antenatal appointments with a parenting course, you have your appointment first, then go to the group course. It is meant to start at 16 weeks but I am already 18 weeks and have had my 16 week appointment. I'm just confused because if they keep me in this group and on this schedule then all my appointments will be 2 weeks late as per the below and my 18-20 week scan is already at 21 weeks. Surely there is a reason the appointments are meant to fall on certain weeks?

25 weeks app at 27 weeks
28 weeks app at 30 weeks
30-31 weeks app at 32-33 weeks
34 weeks app at 36 weeks
36 weeks app at 38 weeks

Thanks for the help, just feeling very confused at the minute and no one in my maternity really seems to know what is going on.

hjbows88 · 03/01/2020 11:56

I’m the same @newbyxx worrying all the time and googling symptoms doesn’t help as convinces me I’m miscarrying or something.

I’ve just been to see midwife during drop in clinic as I was up a few hours in the night with the low abdomen and back ache. Not severe but definitely feeling stuff down there and my whole groin area feels heavy. They took my BP (100/60) and checked urine, asked if had any bleeding (no) and just said it will be normal growing and stretching which happens a lot between weeks 16-18 apparently. Hope that reassures others having similar feelings!

hjbows88 · 03/01/2020 11:57

Also what is everyone’s blood group? My notes seem to say AB-

hjbows88 · 03/01/2020 11:59

Hi @Kez437 my scan was 12 weeks but my midwife appointment will be almost 17 weeks, my next scan I’ll be nearly 21 weeks. So a little bit out but not as much as you, but I think the weeks they give you for appointments (eg 16 week appointment) are just a guide and a week or two either side isn’t a problem! X

newbyxx · 03/01/2020 12:05

Thanks @hjbows88 that is reassuring as today in work I've felt a lot "going on" in lower abdomen some sharp pains also( they didn't last long). It's scary all this isn't it. I think it's the unknown and it's also out of my control which makes me worry more! I just keep the positive hope of reading if you're not bleeding it's ok. I work as a physio assistant so my job in quite full on and a lot of manual handling which is also stressing me out as I feel I may be doing to much x

Larrydavid · 03/01/2020 13:17

@HayleyD84 I don't cry too much normally and have been really emotional over the last week or so. I'm sure it's the hormones - cliched as it sounds, I've found walking the dog, having a bath or going to an exercise class has really helped. Hope you feel better soon

MsMiaWallace · 03/01/2020 13:41

Is everyone in maternity clothes now??

AmyMaria2 · 03/01/2020 13:47

@hjbows88 I'm a negative blood group, got to have the antiD injections, and the test on baby when he's born x

@MsMiaWallace I'm not in maternity clothes, just living in leggings and jumper dresses atm! I do want to get some maternity jeans as there is no chance my normal jeans will fit now lol x

chocolate26 · 03/01/2020 14:08

I'm in some maternity clothes and some normal clothes 😊 leggings and jeans are maternity ones now but most tops/dresses are my normal ones still but won't be long and I won't fit in them anymore! My boobs have grown so much 😂 more than my bump has.

I have also been quite emotional over the last week or so! Some days I feel really relaxed and happy and others I wake up and just know I'm going to cry lots and feel anxious about everything.

MissisBee · 03/01/2020 14:11

I think my 20 week scan is at 21 weeks. I think it's meant to be in the range of 20-22 weeks, so I wouldn't worry about being a week or two out.

My blood group is O- so will be getting injections too.
I'm in my maternity jeans, but still wearing normal dresses for work

umabb · 03/01/2020 14:50

My 20 wk scan is also at my 21 weeks - I think between 20-24 is all fine. I've got my 16wk midwife appointment next Friday (I'll be 17+5) where I heard that we will check baby's heartbeat which is great.

I had a really good week during Christmas when I was at 15 weeks. Most of the days I didn't feel that I was pregnant, which somehow worried me, but honestly physically I felt awesome. That followed with a perfect scan on Monday. But that good mood didn't last. Last night I had that false contraction, painful back and numb groins (sounds really strange), and today I noticed my resting heart beat had been dropping since this week (from 75 to 71! My pre-pregnancy figure was about 58-60). I don't know what to think and can't find any good answers online Sad I just hope next Friday I'll hear strong heartbeat to put my mind at peace again.

I have ordered some maternity leggings, work trousers and a dress from seraphine this week which haven't arrived. I had to put on a bra today which used to be too big for me ! And I bought a cardigan today thinking it might help me cover my growing bump!

I'm in blood group B :)

umabb · 03/01/2020 14:55

I didn't understand the injection for certain blood groups? Why is it?
Well I have my daily injections too though due to my higher antibody and natural killer cell counts which are believed to be the cause of my two mcs ..

Smiffette · 03/01/2020 16:01

@umabb I wouldn't too much about your resting heart rate... or at least I'm trying not to!
My pre preg was similar to yours 58-62 then since pregnancy it's steadily gone up and can now be anything between 68-74 x

Zoey92 · 03/01/2020 16:38

@Larrydavid i didn't realise how common it was to be honest, it's scared the hell out me when she told me at 12wk scan.

I'm also rhesus negative so will more than likely have my antiD at 16wk appointment next week or arrange for it

SearchingTheSkies · 03/01/2020 17:21

Not in maternity clothes yet, but I did buy a couple of work shirts in a bigger size as I've noticed some tops are getting snug around my stomach. I actually need to try on my work trousers to check they still do up! I'm a teacher but haven't yet told work and don't want students guessing too soon.

umabb · 03/01/2020 17:30

@Smiffette it's a relief to know that it happens to everybody! Thanks so much for letting me know x I guess it can't be an scientific indication for anything otherwise doctors will ask to check it regularly as a thing.. I guess !Hmm

AmyMaria2 · 03/01/2020 19:01

@umabb you have to have injections if you're a negative blood group so that your body doesn't reject baby, or future pregnancies, they'll check baby's blood group at birth, if it's positive then you have to have another injection then as well.
@Zoey92 you won't have an antiD injection until 28 weeks, deffo won't be 16 weeks x

MsMiaWallace · 03/01/2020 19:15

Does anyone else feel really 'chubby'?
As bumps aren't big yet but feeling thicker set if you know what I mean? I feel like people will look at me & think bloody hell shes put some timber on!!

chocolate26 · 03/01/2020 20:07

When did everyone or when is everyone having the flu jab? If you are having it done that is. I'm having mine on Monday at my 16 week midwife appointment and I'm worrying that I should of had it earlier and what if I catch flu now 😫

hjbows88 · 03/01/2020 20:18

I’ve had flu jab, had it when I was about 8 weeks though.

No one has mentioned the injections to me? They told me my blood group today but that was it. I have my 16 week app next week but the midwives today said I could cancel that if I wanted as they had gone through everything, but I’ve kept the appointment and going to ask about this AND my maternity exemption certificate as I’ve not had this (for prescriptions etc) :/

Pegase · 03/01/2020 20:32

@SearchingTheSkies I am also a teacher but don't think I will be able to disguise the bump. First day back today and someone guessed already.

I had flu jab in Nov. Need to book whooping cough at some point as well

Twittlebee · 03/01/2020 21:06

Evening all, really struggle to catch up when not on my laptop.

In some mat clothes but mainly non mat clothes still here @MsMiaWallace

Had my flu jab at about 6 weeks @chocolate26

Yeah I've not had the mat exemption card through yet BUT I do still have my last one valid until September this year.

Sorry to read how many of us are high risk pregnancy. I really hope that all of us end up having super smooth pregnancy journeys somehow.

Got a scan tomorrow to show DS the baby in mummy's tummy and a nice lunch afterwards too in a good pub on a river.

What's everyone else's weekend plans?
