Hi everyone, I hope it’s ok for me to join. I’m 36 and due on 26/6. First baby but third pregnancy after two MCs. A bit anxious to say the least! Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all. Smile

We have the same due date! Welcome @SearchingTheSkies . Its nerve racking, pregnancy after loss, isn't it

SearchingTheSkies · 29/12/2019 15:49

Thank you @Twittlebee. Nice to have a due date buddy Smile And yes, it is. Here's hoping for a thoroughly uneventful next few months.

AmyMaria2 · 29/12/2019 16:15

@SearchingTheSkies congratulations I'm due on 3rd June, 17+4 today, this groups really helpful x

newbyxx · 29/12/2019 16:23

Has anyone experienced a dull constant pain/ache in lower abdomen? It's only on one side, not bad pain but it's annoying I can feel it there. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know what to expect. I seen midwife today as I didn't know what it was and heard heartbeat ok and she took some swabs to test routinely. But wanted to know if anyone else has been experiencing this at this stage? I'm 17+1

Smiffette · 29/12/2019 18:04

@newbyxx I get that on my left side and put it down to stretching. I will check when I meet with my midwife on the 8th for my "16 week" check up.

@Twittlebee yes I am, guess name is a giveaway. Weird how on this forum we don’t know which part of the country each of us is from, there might be some mums living in same towns and not realising it!

peetieswie · 29/12/2019 20:46

I've had all sorts, bit of brown discharge, some red blood but stopped quickly, dull ache, sharp twitches. Unless it's more than a couple of spoons worth of blood or sharp stabbing pains I've been trying not to worry. Nervous for my next appointment but I'm assuming it's all normal 🤷‍♀️

UKtoSK · 29/12/2019 21:44

@MsMiaWallace I’ve had spotting twice for a week or so each time (around 6 and 10 weeks) and it was mostly in the form of brown discharge but sometimes pink and a couple of times red. It was just a small bleed escaping (subchorionic hematoma) and seems to have cleared up. As others said, it is probably a bit of old blood from somewhere, and if it stopped then that’s good. It’s quite common to happen within a few days after sex as well because of the cervix being more sensitive during pregnancy with everything being swollen with extra blood. Anyway, I wouldn’t worry about it but if you see any more and want to put your mind at ease then it’d be worth seeing someone just to do that. This pregnancy thing is so stressful!

Zoey92 · 29/12/2019 22:42

Where is everyone from? Or are we not allowed to say?
I've had niggly headache all day that just won't shift, oh & the itchy boobs are on another level today!

I love quite close to Glasgow.

chocolate26 · 29/12/2019 23:04

I'm from Kent in the south east Smile yes to the itchy boobs!! Some days they are so bad, I moisturise them and that helps.

RPPs · 29/12/2019 23:31

@msmiawallace I had the tiniest spot of brown discharge a few days ago. I felt it was too small to worry about in isolation of any other symptoms. Google confirmed this.
Has anyone booked their 20week scan yet or do we do it at the 26 wk scan?
Properly popped out bump now. Its so obvious that my family and friends noticed before I told them. Loving the wee bump.
Anyone using a pillow in bed?

Zoey92 · 29/12/2019 23:31

Nice to hear where you're from @blizy @chocolate26 I'm from Newcastle.
I was just about to ask tios on the itching its driving me mad x

AmyMaria2 · 29/12/2019 23:35

@chocolate26 I'm in Kent as well! 👍
@RPPs I got a pillow for Christmas and I've tried it but not really getting on with it, maybe I will further along. x

I'm from near Chester.

I have a pillow that I started using last week as I was getting back and hip pain in bed. I have had a problem with severe sciatica earlier this year so am very wary of that.

@RPPs I also have a proper bump now, too. It's nice, but I feel huge already!

SE London. My bump still seems to not be a consistent size- could easily be mistaken for lots of flab!

newbyxx · 30/12/2019 08:39

I'm exmouth in Devon, aching has gone today so I'm putting it down to stretching x

Twittlebee · 30/12/2019 08:53

Same here @Pegase haha! Really fluctuates too. But I have noticed if I lay on my back there is a small firm ball now!

Yup just a bit! @billericaymumtobe ! My mum and grandparents still live there actually so I'm often down that way.

I'm from North Essex.

Does anyone else here have a high risk pregnancy?

14+3

APD1981 · 30/12/2019 09:03

@Twittlebee I was given low risk despite being 38. I thought that alone would trigger high risk. And the scales they weighed me on were so wrong (old and mechanical) so put me 5kg heavier than I actually was. I was mortified but midwife was bothered by my BMI despite the wrong scales putting my BMI over 25. I've recently lost a lot of weight and it was horrible seeing it being recorded as so high when it wasn't!

APD1981 · 30/12/2019 09:04

*wasn't bothered

chocolate26 · 30/12/2019 09:06

@newbyxx I've had so many aches and pains throughout and I've always been told it's just stretching! They are mild and come and go.

@Twittlebee I have an appointment with a obstetrician today as I have a heart condition, they are going to decide what kind of care I need and also if I can give birth naturally or if I will need a cesarian. Have you got a high risk pregnancy?

UKtoSK · 30/12/2019 09:24

@Twittlebee I can feel that small ball too when I lie on my back but it’s not visible yet. Can you see yours or just feel it? I’m 14+2 today and keep waiting for it to suddenly grow more so that I know something is happening! Last appointment was at 11 weeks and next is at 16 weeks and it seems like such a long wait.

Pegase · 30/12/2019 09:30

Yes I am high risk as shocking delivery with DD1. Planning to argue for C section when I see obstetrician in a few weeks.

Blizy · 30/12/2019 09:58

Twittle I'm high risk due to previous stillbirth. I'm
Comfortable with ongoing care plan, it can be altered to suit my needs.
