I also got told that I have an Anterior placenta. That would explain why I haven't had massive movements and the ones I have felt have been only at my sides not at the front.

Anyone else have an Anterior Placenta?

Rinoa · 21/01/2020 20:40

@HayleyD84 if it makes you feel better I have the posterior placenta I think it's called and still can barely feel movements. It worries me for a bit but they said it can take up to 24 weeks . And at that point they should have regular movements. Makes me slightly paranoid when I don't feel anything !

Zoey92 · 21/01/2020 20:47

@HayleyD84 yea there is quite a few of us on here with anterior placenta.
I'm 18+2 and feeling movements always on my right

BabyBird20 · 21/01/2020 20:58

@cornishbumpkin we found out we're having a boy as we ended up having the harmony test after being given high risk for downs! Luckily all good on that front according to the blood tests! I'm not feeling anything obvious, every now and then I think I might but could be my mind playing tricks on me!! Can't wait to feel something I know for sure is the baby!! 😍

umabb · 21/01/2020 21:08

@HayleyD84 thanks x I called the advice line and the MW picked put the phone didn't give much useful information, but only said that ICP is more likely be post 30wks. She said if I'm worried I should go to A&E.. well I'm not keen to wait for 3-4 hours tonight as itching is a lot better than earlier but will go see the GP on Friday.

AmyMaria2 · 21/01/2020 21:11

@QforCucumber congratulations on the scan!
Good luck anyone having scans tomorrow x

QforCucumber · 21/01/2020 21:20

Thanks!

@HayleyD84 mine is anterior placenta, hardly felt anything at all and this is DS2. Scan shows the placenta amazingly though - like a cloud over his head!

She said his feet cant be seen as hes got them tucked away in my bladder like a hot water bottle - bloody nuisance already. No wonder I go from not needing to wee to needing to go RIGHT NOW! Hes dancing on it Haha

Twittlebee · 21/01/2020 21:24

That's the guidance I was aware of @HayleyD84 and yes I have actually requested a change in consultants already. But thank you for solidifying my thinking on this, does seem odd no one has checked it to help inform.

Good luck at the GP on friday @umabb - does seem like potentially a bit of a worry!

Yup I'm the same due date @SearchingTheSkies ! 20 week scan feels ages away

Been feeling strong movements here, strong enough that DH has felt them and the baby even was jolting my laptop that I had resting on my bump!

Cornishbumpkin · 21/01/2020 22:00

@umabb that didn't sound like a very helpful midwife! ICP can happen anytime from 8-39 weeks and I wouldn't say there's a need to go to A&E, think your right to go see your GP tomorrow so they can check your liver function

Cb31 · 22/01/2020 07:22

@Rinoa sorry I'm a few days behind. I was exactly the same, felt totally confused about prams. There's just too many to choose from. We went to a specialist pram place near us where they spent an hour showing us different prams and how to use them. Felt so much better after that and loved how well the oyster 3 folded and just generally how easy it was to use.

I've been signed off work this week, I feel guilty about it which I know is silly but I'm not actually ill. Just been getting a really sharp burning pain at the top of my back when I'm driving/ sitting at my desk or even just stood chopping veg. It's not constant so while I'm off I'm avoiding doing anything that will make it hurt so it's like I've just got free days off. Doctor doesn't know what's causing but I can't drive for more that 10 mins without being in alot of pain so I hope it resolves itself soon

mrssunshinexxx · 22/01/2020 08:27

Such good news to hear about the scans rolling in did any of you cry much ? I was a mess at the 12 week scan and from how someone has described how amazing The 20 week one is checking the heart chambers etc I know I'll be a mess I need to try be calm tho because every time I cried it knocked the machine off Smile

umabb · 22/01/2020 09:07

@Cornishbumpkin @Twittlebee I went to the GP this morning - good that they've got some emergency slots in the mornings and I got to see the doctor straight away. Tested urine sample which was all normal. I was then given a blood form to test bile acids for ICP unfortunately couldn't do it there and then. I'll do it tomorrow in the general hospital.
I asked if I got take anything to help if getting itchy again but he said try to hold off.. glad the itching eased off since yesterday. Hopefully not again today Sad

umabb · 22/01/2020 09:11

So lovely to read the good results of the 20wks scans! Good luck to all who have the scans coming soon ! Xx
mine is on Monday. I'm getting crazy, can't wait!

19+3 today

Magpiefeather · 22/01/2020 09:43

Hello all, can I join? I was on another thread for late June / early July due dates but it has gone quiet... it seems this thread is where the action is!

I’m 32, this is 2nd baby and I’m 18+3. Due date 21st June. Time is whizzing by already!

Re the nursery, we have just bought our first house and are moving in next month. It was in a bit of a state so we have painted (well, DH has painted) all the rooms and we are getting new carpet. Baby’s future room will have to be a bit of a holding area when we first move in while we get sorted, and I’ll probably set up my office / music room / sewing room in there as well as a changing table and rocking chair. May not set up the cot bed til much later as we’ve got a Snuzpod from DD1 for next to our bed for first 6 months. I’m going to make full use of that extra bedroom for the next year!

DD1 is starting to get excited about being a big sister (although I’m not really sure she knows what it will entail, she’s only 2.5) but that’s nice. Horrendous sickness is manageable now, baby having a good wriggle and DH even felt him or her through by belly which was lovely and surprised me.

Scan on 30th Jan, can’t wait to see him or her again. Think we will find out the sex this time just to see whether we need to keep all of DDs clothes or just the neutral ones. Tbh I tried to keep all her clothes pretty neutral but the pink and sparkly still got to us somehow!

Re birth plans I had a 3rd degree tear last time so was offered an ELCS if I wanted it but I’ve decided to opt for another vaginal birth if all is favourable nearer the time (eg baby is not breech etc). They said the risk of another 3rd degree tear is very low and I have healed really well so my instinct is this could be a much smoother birth. Main worry is that the hospital is an hour away and a friend was telling me yesterday how her 3rd baby was born in the car on the way to the hospital. She had pushed the head out before her husband even stopped the car Shock scared me half to death but will just have to hope I have time to get there. First labour was 36 hours long so if it’s true that the time halves for your second I can cope with that.

Sorry for the essay, hope everyone is feeling ok today.

hjbows88 · 22/01/2020 10:11

Has anyone had pain near their belly button? I started getting this last night. It’s not my actual belly button but in that area. It eased when I bent forwards and when I went for a bath, got worse with eating and sitting. It’s better this morning but still feels a bit weird in that area. Any ideas?!

Zeldetta · 22/01/2020 10:22

Welcome @Magpiefeather! The speed which some second births happen is scary isn’t it - I’m sure you will get there! The people I know it has happened to were aware they were in early labour but didn’t realise how quick the second stage would be. Maybe set off earlier than you think necessary? But I know that’s a tough choice because you don’t want to get sent home..: hopefully your labour will be quick but not that quick!

Smiffette · 22/01/2020 10:37

@hjbows88 I had something similar, it wasn't pain more just felt tender all around the button area!
I do keep getting discomfort just below my right ribs... I looked online and it seems it could be 1 of two things or just nothing! Either pre eclampsia - I feel absolutely fine so don't think it's that, or potentially a UTI - which it may be although not getting any stinging when I go to the toilet just a strange pressure that started a few days ago. Apparently UTI's can be common in pregnancy because of the baby pressing on bladder and trapping bacteria from flowing out as easily!
Has anyone else had anything like this?

Kez437 · 22/01/2020 10:59

Just a big thank you ladies for the reassurance on taking the day off work yesterday. Many hours of sleep and TLC later and I feel much better and now my work are discussing the potential for me to work from home some days so all good. Really appreciated the support Thanks

APD1981 · 22/01/2020 11:38

I'm very pleased to report a healthy baby from my 20 week scan this morning. Took ages to complete because the little monkey was in an awkward position. I was asked to jump around but it only moved a bit! The sonographer couldn't get a close view of the heart, feet (legs were crossed again!) or the bottom of the spine so I was then sent away to eat chocolate and a fizzy, sugary drink. 20 mins later baby had moved! Must like sugar haha. All is absolutely normal and healthy. The relief is real!

Good luck to everyone else with their upcoming scans. It's amazing x

Smiffette · 22/01/2020 12:07

@APD1981 great to hear all is well! It's such a nice relief isn't it!!

20+2

APD1981 · 22/01/2020 12:13

Thanks @smiffette. It sure is. When he couldn't see the heart properly I was worried I'd be sent away to come back in a couple of weeks. When it's as important as the heart that would've made the wait unbearable. But thankfully baby played ball and moved for us. Had a celebratory buffet breakfast afterwards!!

RPPs · 22/01/2020 12:37

20 week scan in an hour. Do I need a full bladder?

APD1981 · 22/01/2020 12:45

@RPPs I asked the receptionist this today as I was bursting. Nope, you don't. Just a little glass of water if you do a wee beforehand x

Zoey92 · 22/01/2020 15:50

Lovely hearing all of your scans, I've got mine next Wednesday i cant wait!
@QforCucumber what a fantastic clear scan 🥰
