I'm a stone heavier than I was pre pregnancy, but tbf I really don't care if it means all is well in these :)

umabb · 17/01/2020 11:48

Pre-pregnancy 51kilo, 12wks 53kilo, 16wks 55kg (record breaker that was.. ) now 18+5 I just can't do it ! I can't move myself onto that weight scale !
I'll have to do it at 20wks oh man

AndddddHerewegoagain · 17/01/2020 11:52

With my son i piled weight on as my diet was so limited

This time I'd only put 3lbs on by 16 weeks due to sickness. Im now 22 weeks and no idea how much i weigh, i think I've put about half a stone on but having a toddler to constantly run after definitely helps limit the weight gain Grin

Twittlebee · 17/01/2020 11:54

Yeah that's what always causes my weight loss is the sickness. You can see the weight loss dip on my chart. Thankfully nowhere near as bad this time! Had it bad with first pregnancy and with each pregnancy it was getting worse and worse. I was terrified fr how sick I would be this time but oddly I have barely bee sick at all

umabb · 17/01/2020 11:55

Sorry about the odd measurements - I'm chinese living in England. For years now. Still haven't quite got used to the concept of stones. BlushThe husband set up the weight scale display in stones and lbs - I can never tell how heavy I am while standing on it - always have to check the app linked to it afterwards.

Busylizzie85 · 17/01/2020 12:06

@newbyxx I get pain on my right side if I lay on it!
I felt a couple of tiny kicks for the first time on Wednesday but very few and far between and nothing at all for about a day now.

20+0

Rinoa · 17/01/2020 12:07

@umabb I totally understand, I'm American moved to England so I can't get my head around stones and even KG lol but I try!

Twittlebee · 17/01/2020 12:07

Haha dont worry! I actually use Kg more, our scales are set to Kg too

hjbows88 · 17/01/2020 12:27

My mental health is definitely up and down with anxiety about the baby. I’ve had quite a few private scans for reassurance but they only make me feel better for a few days. Hoping once I get regular movements that will reassure me more frequently that all is ok.

I’ve put on about 8 pounds so far. I’ve had no sickness and no problems eating my normal diet. I was 7st 2 before though, so very petite. This is the first time in my adult life I’ve put on weight so can definitely tell it’s baby related!!

UKtoSK · 17/01/2020 12:28

@umabb I also use kg these days as I’ve been living in South Korea for seven and a half years now and I can’t get my head around stones anymore either! I was 56.6kg at my first appointment at 6 weeks and 57.6 at my 16 week appointment last Saturday. Think all my muscle has turned to fat though from not working out anymore lol.

AmyMaria2 · 17/01/2020 12:34

@newbyxx yeah I have got some pains when I press down, mine are mainly right side as well. It's so worrying not being able to feel anything yet, but it is just our plaecntas! I was so worried but obviously had 2 scans in the last few days so slightly reassured for now! I doubt it'll last long unless I start feeling him 🙈 hope you're feeling okay, when is your scan? xx
20+2

umabb · 17/01/2020 12:43

@Rinoa @UKtoSK I just converted it and i think i'm hitting 9 stones - that's quite a milestone to climb up a stone I guess. A bit worrying how fast the weight piling up considering 20wk + is when the significant growth of the baby actually happens

AndddddHerewegoagain · 17/01/2020 13:07

@umabb i put 4 stone on with my son. Within 2 weeks i was down 2.5 stone. It all depends on how much water you're carrying, the size of the baby, placenta etc. My son was 9lbs of it to start with! Plus my legs and feet were so swollen.

We all need those few extra lbs to get through the first few weeks anyway, a diet of half eaten toast and half drunk tea really does wonders for the body 😂

MsMiaWallace · 17/01/2020 13:22

By 12 weeks I'd put a stone on! God knows now!!
I think I've got a lot of water

umabb · 17/01/2020 14:51

@AndddddHerewegoagain let's hope we are carrying a lot of water and will get rid of it all after babies born Wink

umabb · 17/01/2020 14:51

No movements at all today.
He's driving me nuts Angry

MissisBee · 17/01/2020 15:03

My brain works in stones and kg! I grew up using st/lb but use kg in work. I've gone from 63.5kg (10st) to 67.5kg (10st 9lb) so far. Which is more than my last pregnancy, as I lost weight in the 1st trimester. I lost so much while breastfeeding last time, so I'm really not worried how much I put on.

However, I got weighed at a hospital appointment during the week, and the nurse made me keep my (big heavy) coat on, which had loads of crap in the pockets, so I think I weighed an extra stone then 😂

hjbows88 · 17/01/2020 15:39

I’ve had much less today compared to yesterday @umabb - try not to worry, it’s subject to lots of variation at the moment depending on baby location and levels of activity. No pattern expected until we are 24 weeks so I think it’s normal to feel more some days than others at this point x

Rinoa · 17/01/2020 15:44

Any of you ladies already have in mind of a "birth plan"? Ever have an epidural ? Looking for tips on how to cop with pain when it comes lol

chocolate26 · 17/01/2020 15:50

@Rinoa I have started writing things down that I want to include in my birth plan 😊 I am nervous about the gas and air more than I'm nervous about an epidural! I'm worried the gas and air will make me feel dizzy and sick (my worst feeling is vertigo) what other things are there to help with the pain?

Rinoa · 17/01/2020 16:09

@chocolate26 well I've been looking at hypnobirthing videos that look helpful but not sure I buy too much into it. I like the idea of preparing so I don't panic. I like to know what to expect so been looking at a lot of videos. I feel like such an amateur lol

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2020 16:24

@Rinoa i have booked private hypnobirthing and planning to do that and have a water birth if all goes to plan of course.
X

umabb · 17/01/2020 16:34

@hjbows88 thanks xx I'm trying to keep calm. It is so reassuring to have started to feel the movements but so frustrating on those "quieter" days !

Rinoa · 17/01/2020 17:04

@mrssunshinexxx have you done it before?

AndddddHerewegoagain · 17/01/2020 17:13

I found hypnobirthing amazing, definitely worth the cost. I also bought a CD online which i found really helped.

I did 90% on gas and air, then needed forceps as his head got stuck after 2 hours of pushing and thats when I had an epidural.

Birth plans are great but just remember no one gets a medal for doing it pain relief free... and noone would judge you for taking pain relief for a headache!

I will be refreshing my hypnobirthing this time but wouldn't turn down pain relief if i felt i needed it xx
