My placenta info was also on my scan notes. Midwife said they should have told me at first scan where it was, but no one did.

Has anyone done the NCT course? I'm trying to work out if it's worth it. I'd be doing it more for local mum friends than information. Annoyingly there isn't one in my local area but it's only a 10 min drive away to the nearest one.

MissisBee · 11/01/2020 10:23

My sleep's been bad this week too, also waking around 5-6 and not getting back over properly. Think I might get my big pillow out soon, left hip's a bit sore this morning.
My notes don't say where my placenta is, but looking at my scan photo in guessing anterior

MissisBee · 11/01/2020 10:25

20 week scan gives more info about placenta position I think

MsMiaWallace · 11/01/2020 11:19

Same here!
I wake up all sniffly & sneezing too

Smiffette · 11/01/2020 12:00

@peetieswee I have booked on to the local NCT, the nearest one to me is a 10-15 min drive too but that's because I'm in a village so just a down the road to the nearest nice town.
Like you it's mostly for the mum friends that will be at the same stage as me and also for the info.

Cb31 · 11/01/2020 12:00

Does anyone have the bbhugme pregnancy pillow? The reviews seem to be good but I can't get my head around the price tag!

UKtoSK · 11/01/2020 12:16

Had my 16 week scan today and found out we’re having a girl! Feels so much more real and exciting now! Baby was moving tons, it’s so freaky seeing her move so much and not being able to feel it yet. Attached photo of our little creepy alien and the gender reveal shot.

I’m also not sleeping well these past two weeks. Fall asleep ok but wake up around 2 or 3 every night and takes two hours to get back to sleep. So tired all the time.

@UKtoSK congratulations! That's amazing 😃 I bet it was so nice to see her.

Pegase · 11/01/2020 14:03

17 weeks today and found out we are having a girl! Relieved as we have a girl already so nothing new to learn Grin

Famous last words...

Also is anyone getting killer round ligament pains? I know someone said they had cramps? I just feel like I have a really bad stitch. Like after you have been running.

BabyBird20 · 11/01/2020 22:00

@pegase I am getting a lot of tightness and stretching and then the occasional really sharp pull/stabbing which I assume is the ligament pain! Particularly of when I sneeze/cough or try and yawn or stretch!! Definitely expanding more now, nothing fits at all anymore!!

MissisBee · 11/01/2020 22:06

I get the sharp pains if I sneeze or cough without bracing myself first. Usually down to one side. Quite a bit of stretchy cramps and some Braxton Hicks if I've been active

AmyMaria2 · 12/01/2020 03:14

Congratulations @UKtoSK and @Pegase 💗💗

So nervous for my 20 week scan, on Wednesday i always get nervous in the lead up to scans, I think I'll feel more relaxed when I can feel baby regularly 🙈 x

newbyxx · 12/01/2020 07:20

@AmyMaria2 I'm the same don't worry, I'm nervous all the time so when I can feel him it will be so much more reassuring!

hjbows88 · 12/01/2020 08:18

I’ve had sharp pains since very early (5/6 weeks) but don’t get them consistently when I sneeze or move suddenly, sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t (seems that’s the way with everything for me, symptoms come and go, more prominent some days than others etc).

Good luck for the scan @AmyMaria2 I’m exactly the same, I’ll feel better when a regular pattern to the movements starts! I feeling ‘activity’ quite a bit now but still convince myself it’s something else and again some days I notice more than others!

chocolate26 · 12/01/2020 08:38

I've also had sharp pains since about 6 weeks! I panicked that it was ectopic at first because of them and booked an early scan. I get some sort of sharp ligament pain everyday, if I try to stretch my body out it feels tight and weird too.

I'm also nervous about my 20 week scan! It's not until 3rd feb but I'm already worrying about it. Good luck with yours on Wednesday 😊

Cb31 · 12/01/2020 09:05

@AmyMaria2 I've got my 20 week scan on Wednesday too. Definitely know what you mean about getting more worried the closer it gets. At least there's not too long to wait now!

MsMiaWallace · 12/01/2020 12:51

Is anyone else considering a home birth?

MissisBee · 12/01/2020 15:43

@MsMiaWallace definitely not 😆

QforCucumber · 12/01/2020 16:07

@MsMiaWallace not a chance for me either Haha. I needed to bre prepped for a potential emcs with my first (wasnt needed in the end) so am so grateful for the staff and care in the hospital, I needed the spinal, and also a catheter afterwards for about 3 days due to the bruising. If this one is anything like ds and weighs 9lb then I'll be glad to be in hospital. Our local maternity unit is fantastic though.

Lemonysherbet · 12/01/2020 16:37

@MsMiaWallace no for me as I'd love a water birth, and it's my first!

Ladies has anyone bought a travel system yet? Had a look at some today and we found it so overwhelming

OP posts:
BabyBird20 · 12/01/2020 17:47

@Lemonysherbet I bought a bargain travel system from a guy who was selling ex display stock from his shop. Went with the oyster 3 as it folds up nice and small for the rubbish boot in my corsa. It's easy to use, fold and click together and seems great to push so far though obviously not pushed it a lot! The old oyster 2 model had some bad reviews about the size of the seat so they've made this one bigger and takes up to approx age 4! (Though hoping DS won't still be in it by then!)

QforCucumber · 12/01/2020 17:52

@Lemonysherbet we are using the one from ds. Venicci mini in grey and chrome. I wish I hadnt spent so much on it 1st time round tbf, it was used for the first year then we swapped to a stroller. If I did my time again I'd buy a 2nd hand one.

Pegase · 12/01/2020 19:23

@MsMiaWallace definitely not I'm afraid. Am high risk after the car crash of birth no. 1 so wouldn't be allowed anyway

mrssunshinexxx · 12/01/2020 19:24

@MsMiaWallace no water birth for me all being well
