Does anyone else who is taking baby aspirin get awful dry mouth over night? I've only been taking it for 4 days and my sleep every night since has been awful!! 😢😢

I'm wondering if it works as well if I can take it every morning instead?

Busylizzie85 · 13/01/2020 06:32

I still not feeling anything!

@BabyBird20 I'm not taking Asprin, but I have been waking up with a seriously dry mouth a lot! Keep water by my bed now! It's as though I've been out heavily drinking and super dehydrated

Smiffette · 13/01/2020 06:51

@Busylizzie85 I'm not feeling anything yet either, I have my 20wk scan a week today and hoping that will provide reassurance she's all good!

19weeks

BabyBird20 · 13/01/2020 07:09

@smifette that's exactly what it's like! Really horrible and I keep waking up with my mouth all stuck together. Apparently it's making me snore too, poor DH!! 😬😬

mrssunshinexxx · 13/01/2020 07:53

@BabyBird20 I'm on double dose aspirin daily until 37 weeks I am quite thirsty when. I go to bed but don't think I drink enough through the day which I am working on try not to drink too much too late or the getting up for which already atleast 2 toilet trips doubles ! I take my asprin with my tea because if taken on an empty or relatively empty stomach it can cause damage to your stomach lining. Taking tablets daily isn't great but obviously in my circumstance if it stops the onset of preeclampsia I need it x

newbyxx · 13/01/2020 09:00

@BabyBird20 @Smiffette I'm on 150mg aspirin daily I normally take about an hour after I've eaten at night as it says it's absorbed better at night. No dry mouth really I don't think x

newbyxx · 13/01/2020 09:00

@AmyMaria2 any movement yet? Me and you are similar in dates, I've still not had anything. My 20 week scan is next Tuesday x

umabb · 13/01/2020 09:04

Baby aspirin 75mg for at least two years and recently doubled to 150mg and will glad until 36 weeks. I didn't feel anything odd though x

Will continue* (I don't know why I typed glad..)

umabb · 13/01/2020 09:07

I still haven't received the letter for my 20wk scan but I found it on my app (not sure if you use the same ? Called Maternity Notes). It will be on Jan 27th when I'm 20wk+1. Smile

LillianFullStop · 13/01/2020 09:12

@BabyBird20 I'm on low dose aspirin too (pre-eclampsia preventative) and take it in the morning with my coffee/breakfast. And yes I still get very thirsty at night so I keep a glass of water by my bedside and down an entire glass soon as I wake up in the morning!

19+3 today and my 20w scan is on Friday

MsMiaWallace · 13/01/2020 10:05

Oh no I was really sick this morning!!
Gutted as I was feeling a lot better.

mrssunshinexxx · 13/01/2020 10:07

@umabb ooh what's the app? I haven't received mine and desperate too Isit linked to your hospital?

umabb · 13/01/2020 10:47

@mrssunshinexxx yeah I'm not sure, if not just my hospital perhaps only for a few hospitals in Surrey. You'd have been told about it at your booking appointment and they would have signed you up at that point. Otherwise I don't think it'll have your info.. x

RPPs · 13/01/2020 12:15

I've had 3 days to catch up on and Im feeling very reassured, reading through all your comments. I have been feeling movement. Just after Christmas whilst sitting cross legged on the sofa, I think Baby was doing the Riverdance. However, and probably just coincidentally, after a bath I got a bad stitch on both sides. Right seem to fade but the left stayed for the day. That's not happened to me. And I couldn't feel any movement. I was just about to book a private scan when baby started moving again today. And reading your reports it seems normal.

Have my 20 week scan Wednesday week and getting more nervous by the day. Also haven't told work yet and I have a big meeting with senior managers on Thursday so I bought a really baggy top in the Reiss sale. Probably just to make me feel better. Hoping they wont notice so I can officially tell them after the 20 week scan.
Also waking up dry mouthed and so keep a bottle of water by the bed. Have the U pillow but still waking on back and hips are so sore from lying on my side. Hip pain helped by pillow between the legs.
Not bought anything and don't think I will until I get closer to due date

Sunflowerbob · 13/01/2020 13:08

Hi, I'm 41 and this is my first baby. Absolutely terrified! All my friends did it 15 - 20 years ago!

umabb · 13/01/2020 13:10

I don't feel much movement whenever I'm in the office. Envy i don't know if it's me not noticing or it's his way of saying "I don't like you working" Wink

Sunflowerbob · 13/01/2020 13:11

Also... baby due 30th June but am not allowed to go past 38 weeks because of my age.
They told me to me to practice sleeping on my side, I can barely sleep from the pain in my hips and then walking for the first couple of hours in the morning is agony. Tried pillows and all sorts but nothing works!

SearchingTheSkies · 13/01/2020 15:15

I'm also feeling very thirsty at night, though I feel I've had enough water during the day.

I think I felt some movement the past 2 days but it's hard to tell. Only happened when I was sitting still and quiet on the sofa. Both times it felt like little bubbles rising to the surface.

Had my 16 week apt today and got to hear the heartbeat. Feeling reassured but I expect I'll be back to worrying tomorrow! Wink

That did make me smile @umabb haha!

Cannot believe the 20 week scans are coming up now!

Anyone else still struggling with aversions? I didnt have aversions that badly with previous pregnancies (but then again I was just continually very sick and nauseous until near 3rd trimester)

Smiffette · 13/01/2020 16:15

Thinking about 20wk scans, do they tell you there and then if they find issues or do you have a follow up with doctor does anyone know?

19 was

MissisBee · 13/01/2020 16:50

I'm on aspirin too. I take it in the morning with my other tablets because a) I kept forgetting in the evening and b) when I did I had terrible heartburn.
@Smiffette I think they tell you there and then if they find any issues, then depending what it is, you'd have follow up with a doctor.

Twittlebee · 13/01/2020 17:14

From friends who have been told there are issues at those scans @Smiffette , they tell you then that something abnormal is requiring further investigation.
