@peetieswie I've been suffering headaches too and trying to avoid paracetamol but had a consultants appt yesterday and she said you really don't need to suffer and paracetamol is perfectly safe (and headaches very common apparently!)

I've got my 16 week appt today, so hoping I hear the heart beat after my scare earlier this week!

@smifette I haven't felt anything yet either at 17+ 4, so can't wait to feel him move!! 😍😍

newbyxx · 10/01/2020 07:56

@Smiffette @AmyMaria2 @BabyBird20 I'm the same as you ladies have an anterior placenta and haven't felt anything yet! I'm 18+6 and midwife said it's normal being first baby and having anterior placenta. I'm sure we will feel them soon enough 😊

BabyBird20 · 10/01/2020 09:19

My 16 wk appt was so disappointing! Just admin as they don't listen to heartbeat at 16 weeks anymore 😢😢 Made my husband come to this one to hear it and was pointless him being there!

AmyMaria2 · 10/01/2020 13:37

@newbyxx yes Hopefully we'll be feeling them soon!🥰

Ah sorry @BabyBird20 that's not good, it's a shame different hospitals do things so differently, did she say when you would hear heartbeat, next appointment? X

MsMiaWallace · 10/01/2020 14:55

I'm 15+4 with 3rd baby. Still not feeling any movement Sad

umabb · 10/01/2020 14:59

Just came back from the 16wks MW appointment. They checked the urine but not blood. Checked blood pressure. Listened to the heartbeat (good that they still do it here..). Lovely to hear strong and clear heartbeats , a bit on the faster end (157). Baby didn't like the Doppler /stethoscope thingy and moved a lot after that hehe. I hadn't felt very strong movements from him since Monday so it was really reassuring.
The md was lovely and I didn't feel I was rushed. I asked millions of questions and got good answers from her. Again I guess it does vary a lot in different regions.

QforCucumber · 10/01/2020 15:44

@MsMiaWallace I'm 18+3 with baby 2 and no movement here, notes say anterior placenta so not too concerned.

My 16 weel appt was just admin, no HR listening or anything, was the same with my 1st baby 4 years ago though.

hjbows88 · 10/01/2020 15:51

How do you all know so much about your placenta?! I’ve not been given any info on mine!

QforCucumber · 10/01/2020 16:00

@hjbows88 details are written in the scan notes in your file, I've not been told anything but have had a good read of my notes

newbyxx · 10/01/2020 16:17

@hjbows88 yeah in my private scans notes I read it was anterior I haven't had it mention to me only read it myself

chocolate26 · 10/01/2020 16:45

I've had a read through all my notes and there's no mention of my placenta anywhere! Hopefully I've got one 🤣 I've looked at my private scan notes and the ones from the hospital!

umabb · 10/01/2020 17:04

Same.. very curious so looked at reports too. no placenta mentioned in any of the reports!

Lemonysherbet · 10/01/2020 17:49

I don't know anything about my placenta either, but I'm sure there's one in there 🤣 got my 20 week scan Monday, I'm officially halfway!!!

Smiffette · 10/01/2020 18:13

Same, I just always read my notes afterwards and see it in there!

Glad I'm not the only one that hasn't felt anything yet

BabyBird20 · 10/01/2020 18:22

@amymaria, thanks, I was so gutted! It was such an admin exercise and every question I've googled over the last months popped out of my head so didn't end up asking her anything!! Apparently they don't do it til the 26/28 weeks here! 😢😢

One thing I did forget to ask her is how to book into the nhs antenatal classes. Does anyone know? Xx

APD1981 · 10/01/2020 19:32

@Babybird20 my notes folder has a leaflet in it with what courses are available and how to book. For my hospital you basically phone a number in the maternity dept and they see what's available at the right time for you. I got onto a Parent craft course and also hypnobirthing x

umabb · 10/01/2020 19:42

@BabyBird20 the MW told me to phone the community midwife line to book the classes after the 20wk scan. I think she said that there are 3 free classes that we can book. Also asked about mat1b and whopping cough jab booking and was told I can book on the same day when I have my 20wk scan.

Zoey92 · 10/01/2020 19:46

@hjbows88 i was told at my scan & it was on my notes
Really interesting to hear everyones 16wk appointments

HayleyD84 · 10/01/2020 20:20

Hi all, is anyone suffering with cramps and their stomach going tight?
I'm also huge which is worried about I look 9 months already.

I literally only have to do one thing like put a wash on and I need to rest, really struggling.

17+5 (2nd baby)

newbyxx · 10/01/2020 20:30

@HayleyD84 I feel like that today, have had pain/ ache all day which normally doesn't last that long. It's no bad pain though so I'm not to worried. But I'm
Struggling with day to day tasks and work to feel like I need to rest half hour! Is going to be hard working up until I'm 8 months !

hjbows88 · 10/01/2020 21:08

Hi @HayleyD84 I’ve had cramps last week with mega bloating. I went to see midwife who wasn’t worried and said normal growing pains. I’ve been getting the tightness sometimes but I think it’s because I get so bloated some days. It comes and goes though, not had much bloating at all today and no pains or tightness. But on Wednesday I was huge by mid afternoon and felt so stretched!

adeledx · 11/01/2020 02:59

Hi everyone - 22 first baby and 16 weeks pregnant! Due date is 28th june and we will be finding out gender x

Zoey92 · 11/01/2020 08:49

So over these restless nights, i can't get to sleep till 1/2am, then I'm in and out sleep all night

Hows everyone doing x

16+6

chocolate26 · 11/01/2020 08:55

@Zoey92 I'm having these restless nights too! I just can't seem to get comfortable and wake up every hour throughout the night 😫

umabb · 11/01/2020 08:59

My sleep is still bad as well. Can fall asleep quite quickly but restless the whole night especially towards 5-6am.

I have been using my u shape pregnancy pillow this week and it's lovely. I like the fact that when I turn around I don't have to fiddle with it - can hug either "leg"! It's so soft and huggy feel safe sleeping "in" in. Hadn't improve my sleep but nothing wrong with it. It's the QUEEN ROSE Full Body Pregnancy Pillow & Maternity Pillow with Replaceable and Washable Cover (140 x 78 cm)

17+6 today
