Same with me totally bloated in the evenings. Last night I measured it, the widest of my waist is 88cm! Blush oh dear.
Not much exercise other than walking. I miss tennis !

Twittlebee · 09/01/2020 08:53

Pretty sure they dont do bloods and weight at every appointment. I think they only do the bloods once and actually only ever remember getting weighed at my dating scan so they could produce the personalised growth chart thing.

yeah that was pretty much what our "baby shower" was meant to be last time round @MissisBee - just everyone over for a BBQ rather than a meal out so no expense for anyone (no expectations at all for gifts seems he was our 2nd son espeically and no games other than a few fun things for the kids to do). I do hope we can have the same planned this time.

what are you meant to have by 16 weeks anyway ey? @Zoey92 - honestly nothing isnt attainable last minute nowadays, thats how I look at it.

Well my running and all other exercise has had to stop as I am on rest due to the placenta issues @hjbows88 so feeling very blobby and unfit! Although havent put on any weight yet I guess so at least there is that, even if I do feel unfit now.

Thank you @chocolate26 and @Larrydavid

Hope this next month goes quick so you can get back into your house @RPPs ! Rather exciting I guess though, having renovations done.

Yup I get that bloat on @Pegase ! But I do have IBS anyway. Digestive systems get so worse during pregnancy. My Dr reassured me that any pain I feel on my left side is most likely my digestive system as thats were it mainly is and it gets more troublesome with the hormones etc.

I've started crocheting little bits for the baby and for DS1 too. Its a new hobby but feels so relaxing! Making up a full set of different preemie to 10lb size hats so this boy will have something homemade to wear hopefully.

@Twittlebee how are you finding the pregnancy is affecting your ibs? I have ibs-m with a leaning towards ibs-c more often than ibs-d, so I was expecting bad constipation in pregnancy but have mostly found the opposite... won’t get into tmi details but I have never been so regular in my life! The first week or two of both the first and the second trimester I had awful stomach pains though.

Twittlebee · 09/01/2020 10:34

Shocking tbh as I cant take my usual meds when pregnant @UKtoSK but been recommended some probiotics which are causing constipation it seems.

Zoey92 · 09/01/2020 10:51

@twittlebee it is so frustrating I now understand what my friends mean how people become so judging when you are pregnant.
I run a hair salon so I had Christmas and New Year to deal with and I was focused on getting my grandma through her first Christmas without my grandad then in early hours of yesterday morning she lost her sister. But never mind all that because apparently I should be more focused on going out and buying things and preparing for the baby, don't get me wrong that will all happen come the end of the month.

Sorry rant over 🤦‍♀️😂

@Twittlebee sorry you’re having a rough time with it. It’s weird how pregnancy affects people’s ibs so differently. I hope you get some relief soon.

QforCucumber · 09/01/2020 14:48

I fell off the thread again, and then didn't realise there was a thread 3! me, Baby #2 (pregnancy 4 :( ), age 33. due 9th June so am 18+2. Is a boy (we weren't going to find out then at a fetal medicine scan at 16 weeks on Xmas eve she was doing all the measurements to make sure all ok and as it should be DH shouts out, OMG there's a penis! The poor woman couldn't stop laughing but confirmed, will have reconfirmed at 20 week scan but she seemed pretty certain.

Smiffette · 09/01/2020 14:50

@QforCucumber that's comment made me chuckle about your DH's reaction 😂 bless
Your due the day after me! We are having a girl, found out on Saturday at a private scan.

QforCucumber · 09/01/2020 15:19

Oh and all those asking what people have bought, precisely nothing. We are crazy and are moving house in 2 weeks time, my DH broke his foot on boxing day and our new house won't be ready until the end of February so we (DH, 3.5 yr old DS and I) will be moving into a room at the FIL's house for most of Feb. Yes, I do believe we have lost our minds a little :)

Smiffette · 09/01/2020 15:56

@QforCucumber oh my goodness!!! The positive though will be that you'll be in the new house when baby comes 😀

My mum ordered our travel system today.... we went for the Ickle Bubba Stomp V3, it had £100 off in the main website which was a bonus! Assuming as the V4 has come out.

Zoey92 · 09/01/2020 16:40

Had my 16wk app before, baby was a little tinker trying to listen to heartbeat we've one very active baby😂
eventually managed to get about 12secs of heartrate recorded which was lovely.
No bloods/weight taken & as i knew O-negative blood type

Blizy · 09/01/2020 16:51

I've just had a call from the harmony test clinic, not enough foetal DNA I. My blood sample and I've to go for a re-draw on the 18th. I'm so bloody deflated, my anxiety is crippling me.

SearchingTheSkies · 09/01/2020 17:24

@Blizy how frustrating! Is there no way they can see you before then?

@Zoey92 Lovely that you got to hear the heartbeat. I've got my 16 wk appointment on Monday but I don't know if they listen to the heartbeat in my area. Really hope they do!!

I've also fallen off the exercise wagon. I had to stop swimming as the sickness got too bad, but I am much better now and could probably go back. Just not sure I have the motivation. My diet is all over the place. One day a salad and the next a Chinese takeaway. Blush

So glad it's Friday tomorrow!

Blizy · 09/01/2020 17:28

The re-draw has to be a minimum of 2 weeks after the first blood draw. I've got my 16 week appointment on Monday too.

Pegase · 09/01/2020 18:35

Sorry to hear that news @Blizy

I'm so relieved everyone else is getting the bloat! I have a bump in the morning but it is comically large by late afternoon. It is too high to be baby let alone too large. Probably an element of displaced internal organs too Confused

I also get IBS- symptoms quite rarely these days compared to when I was younger but pregnancy seems to make it flare up.

APD1981 · 09/01/2020 18:46

@Blizy so sorry you're going through this. I was thinking about you earlier and was hoping for a positive update from you soon. It's an agonising wait but, whilst you're waiting, baby is still happy in there with you so try and enjoy it. Hugs x

Blizy · 09/01/2020 18:50

Thanks APD1981 I am trying to relax, however I'm not succeeding!

newbyxx · 09/01/2020 19:08

@Smiffette I also ordered my travel system today but going to keep it at my mother in laws house when it arrives. I was going to get the stomp v3 too but we decided to get the infababy ultimo. So exciting buying things, I've already planned my baby boys room, just waiting a couple months to do 😂 x

peetieswie · 09/01/2020 19:57

Worst headache yet today. Been really trying to avoid paracetamol but caved as I'm in agony.

I can't tell if I can feel baby or if my stomach is just really gurgly all the time. My placenta is at the front so I don't know if that is making it feel more like a gurgle.

APD1981 · 09/01/2020 20:39

That moment when your husband can feel the baby kicking! ❤️

It's so active tonight and we could both feel the movement with our hands. So lovely!

Zoey92 · 09/01/2020 22:54

@peetieswie I've started feeling flutters same time most nights, this week more so.
My placenta is at front too.

AmyMaria2 · 09/01/2020 23:25

So sorry @Blizy how annoying!

@Zoey92 so lovely hearing the heartbeat isn't it, can't wait for my 20'week scan next Wednesday, I have a anterior placenta and haven't felt a thing yet! Can't wait until I do❤️

19+2

Zoey92 · 09/01/2020 23:33

@AmyMaria2 took some finding as little one would not stay still mind 😂 but it was lovely to hear and very reassuring to hear her say it was a perfect heartrate 💜
Its not constant usually between 6/8pm quite faint but definitely something, I've suffered with gurgly gassy stomach in early weeks alot & its definitely not that anymore, you'll feel soon enough 😊

Smiffette · 10/01/2020 05:33

@Zoey92 ah that's so nice your feeling things. I've got an anterior placenta and I am 18+4 but haven't felt anything yet!
I mentioned it to my midwife she said with your first you may not feel anything until 20-24 weeks especially with material placenta.
