Hi
Hope you don’t mind a late entrant, I have been reading this thread since day one! it’s been so useful to know your all going through very similar things to me, it’s really helped calm any anxiety.
I’m 18+2 due 5th of June
Private scan couple of weeks ago told us it’s a baby girl 😊
First baby at age 34
Not had much movement yet but I have been told my uterus is still slightly tilted towards the back so I’m assuming this is normal. I did get to hear the heartbeat last week which was amazing.

newbyxx · 05/01/2020 07:56

I've had flu and whooping cough injections just took it upon myself to book through gp, is anyone else on aspirin in there pregnancy? I'm on a daily dose due to a low PAPP-A level potential risk of having a small baby. Can't wait to my 20 week scan, which il be having at 20+3 hoping baby boy has been growing as normal! Also is anyone using a pregnancy pillow my nights sleep are getting so uncomfortable and I'm always waking up on my back which In turn is making me panic!

Busylizzie85 · 05/01/2020 08:10

@newbyxx I am using a pregnancy pillow it does help keep you in one place And I am sleeping a lot better than I was although a couple of times I have woken up in the middle of it on my back still! I think it gets easier the bigger you get with them to help keep you on your side.

Pegase · 05/01/2020 08:22

I don't really feel big enough for a pregnancy pillow but do also keep waking up on my back.

Pegase · 05/01/2020 08:38

Is anyone else still experiencing morning sickness. Mine is much much reduced from the peak during 1st trimester but still have occasional nausea/ even vomiting at 16+1

hjbows88 · 05/01/2020 08:42

For those that have had their 16 week midwife app - did she listen to heartbeat? I’ve seen but not heard it yet and as my scan is still 5 weeks away I’d like to hear it to give me some reassurance but I’ve read that some places won’t do it this early?

chocolate26 · 05/01/2020 08:55

@Pegase I'm 16+1 and still experiencing morning sickness. I had it really badly during the 1st trimester, I was pretty much housebound for 6 weeks with it! It is so much better now and only being sick once or twice a week but I do feel nauseous often throughout the day, especially if I get hungry.

MsMiaWallace · 05/01/2020 09:04

I'm wearing Asos maternity leggings today. OMG the comfort!!

Pegase · 05/01/2020 09:22

Glad @chocolate26 I'm not the only one. I had it really badly in 1st trimester as well so this is definitely an improvement but just want it to be gone now!

Smiffette · 05/01/2020 09:40

@MsMiaWallace I have 2 pairs they are sooo comfy aren't they!!

AmyMaria2 · 05/01/2020 10:12

Yeah @Pegase I still have sickness on and off, not consistent like it used to be! Thank goodness.
@hjbows88 yes i heard the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment, I also heard it the day before at my private gender scan, which was a nice surprise. 💙

Blizy · 05/01/2020 10:20

newby I'm on aspirin too.

SearchingTheSkies · 05/01/2020 10:47

@Pegase I still get sickness at 15+2. It's a lot better than it was but cleaning my teeth is still a nightmare. Hoping it will disappear completely soon.

newbyxx · 05/01/2020 11:34

Think I'm having one of those anxious days today but I've woken up and my bump doesn't feel as hard is more wobbly and feel it's got smaller? Anyone else experienced this?

umabb · 05/01/2020 12:26

@newbyxx I'm on aspirin too.
I usually feel the tummy smaller and softer in the mornings and a lot firmer in the evenings. It does look smaller if I had a smaller dinner the night before! It's hard not to think over those small changes as I do a lot ! But I'm sure it's nothing x

hjbows88 · 05/01/2020 12:32

Great thanks I’ll definitely ask for her to listen at my appointment then.

My bump changes day to day, sometimes soft, sometimes hard, sometimes bigger than others. A lot is still down to bloat at this stage I think and it’s effected by how much I’ve eaten, how active I’ve been and so on. I don’t think we can tell much by our bump at this stage! It’s definitely smaller in the morning but even still, some days it looks bigger than others x

newbyxx · 05/01/2020 12:49

@hjbows88 @umabb thanks it is so hard not to worry over the smallest of changes.

@umabb what are you on aspirin for and what dose? I've got to take mine untill around 34 weeks

chocolate26 · 05/01/2020 13:15

My bump also changes day to day, some days I wake up and it looks quite big and it's hard and some days it's smaller and more squishy! I think it does depend on what we've eaten, bloating, maybe how the baby is laying? I don't know if it's still too small to change bump by how it's laying 😕

umabb · 05/01/2020 14:15

@newbyxx I have high natural killer cell and antibody counts which means I could have blood clots easily when pregnant hence I had been on multiple medicines. I've stopped most of them after the 16wk scan but will continue with 150mg aspirin until 36 weeks, plus daily fragmin injection until 6 weeks after birth.

Pegase · 05/01/2020 14:48

Glad to know am not the only one re: morning sickness. Have passed that info on to my husband who thinks it is preposterous that I am still being sick (mostly linked to teeth brushing)

My bump almost disappears in the mornings too.

hjbows88 · 05/01/2020 16:19

I’m on aspirin 75mg per day due to pre eclampsia risk (mother had it and this is my first pregnancy). I’m still taking folic and I also take b12 as I have a deficiency. Have stopped the other multi bits though as the tablets made me feel sick!

MrsD20 · 05/01/2020 18:53

@hjbows88 I am In Norfolk and they don't listen to the heartbeat anymore at 16 weeks 🙁 I guess it must just depend on where you are in UK ☺️

mrssunshinexxx · 05/01/2020 19:05

Hi ladies, please can I join
A little bit about me I'm 27 this is my first baby due 20th June
Currently 16+1 have the midwife app on wed where hopefully we will listen to the heartbeat
Under consultant and on double aspirin daily until 37 weeks due to dangerous cases of pre eclampsia in family x

newbyxx · 05/01/2020 19:59

Welcome @mrssunshinexxx hopefully you get to here at the midwife it was such a reassurance for me, however it definitely seems to not be the case for every midwife as some listen and some don't, it all depends on position of the baby too so don't worry if you can't hear, at my 16 week app I heard it right away and really clear and then at 17 weeks it took the midwife a while to find and not as clear due to positioning and he wouldn't keep still she said. Let us know how you get on. I'm counting down the days until my 20 week scan on the 21st feel like that's another big milestone to get to all ok 🤞🏻😊 x

hjbows88 · 05/01/2020 20:00

Hi @mrssunshinexxx we’re very similar! I’m also due 20th June with first baby although I’m 31! Also on aspirin but just single dose. Welcome!
