Ah was wondering if a new one would be set up in time for all the babies arriving!

Comps83 · 06/12/2019 11:42

I’m pretty sure we had a good 50 or so posts to go before hitting 1000 last time i checked .
Well I got up at 6 this morning because I couldn’t sleep and dh was pissing me off with bed hogging and snoring
Came back to bed at 7 when he got up and haven’t moved since
Just can not be arsed. Think I’m just being lazy rather than tired.

bespokepaininthearse · 06/12/2019 12:43

@Comps83 how long have you got left now? I think a lazy day in bed is fine when we are carrying around an extra person 24/7 😂 the broken sleep is starting to get to me now I think, I just cannot get comfortable and need a wee every 5 minutes so having slow days is necessary here!

Comps83 · 06/12/2019 13:12

I’m 37+3
I’m waking up at 4ish every morning unable to get back to sleep

starflake · 06/12/2019 15:28

@Comps83 ur due the same as me! Xmas Eve baby? Yes definitely lazy days are allowed!! We need to start reserving energy for the labour don't forget 😆
I was in hospital yesterday for check up, they wouldn't sweep me as was only 37+2 yesterday so I'm booked in for a sweep next Thursday. Consultant is confident the sweep will work as I'm getting pretty strong BH & it's my 4th DC! If not I'm back in the following Wednesday, 18th December for induction as growth scan yesterday showed baby was 7lb 10oz already & last DD was 10lb 10oz at birth,!
I just want her out now, I'm crying at the drop of a hat again & everything is just getting on top of me now. Not sure if it's hormones or nerves! All my labours have been pretty tough so I'm dreading labour but trying not to think of it.

Comps83 · 06/12/2019 15:32

I’m hoping he stays in a bit longer
I still feel really unprepared

You guys are a few days ahead of me, I'm 37 weeks tomorrow! I feel like baby is so low - it felt like it could fall out ok the school run today 🙈 I have a growth scan on Friday as baby has dropped off the line it was on, I have asked my midwife if there is any possibility of a sweep before my due date and she said absolutely not, unless this scan shows baby is not happy in anyway, are u getting swept early purely because it's a big baby?

starflake · 06/12/2019 18:54

@bespokepaininthearse partly cause she's big & also cause I'm having a lot of BH so they reckon I'm ready. Had sweeps on DD2 from 38 weeks also & she wasn't a big baby although on dd3 they didn't sweep me as they thought she was too small.

Nervousdave · 06/12/2019 23:46

@Comps83 I've been waking up every morning between 4 and 5, it's horrible! So glad I'm on mat leave and can go back to sleep and try and catch up on it.
I'm 39+2, and dont have a midwife appt til 40+5, asked about a sweep on due date and was told that I would have to call and see if someone was available to have a look and try a sweep on the day. This is my first baby, and he isnt engaged yet STILL, despite making me need to pee constantly 😂 but apparently he has to be engaged to get a sweep 😭

jpaws · 07/12/2019 06:04

Hey all thanks for starting the new thread.

I keep getting broken sleep too but its because my OH keeps nudging me as I've started snoring really bad apparently 🙈. I did tell him to do that as I can sleep through the day if I need too... bit annoying tho if I'm comfy!
I'm 39+3 today and booked in for sweep on Wednesday. Kinda hoping he wants to come before then. Been getting cramps etc but reckon I'll go over still.

Comps83 · 07/12/2019 06:58

I don’t think mine has dropped yet either
My bump is still high
No idea what to do this weekend
Don’t want to be too far from home but feeling the cabin fever. I’ve also spent a fortune the last week so it pretty much needs to be free whatever we do

Missmonkeypenny · 07/12/2019 08:59

Hello!
35+2 over here but induction at 38 weeks - it’ll officially be booked on Monday after my growth scan but likely Boxing Day!

Spent 6 hours down MAU yesterday with crippling rib pain being tested for pre eclampsia, HELLP, gall stones etc

Turns out it’s simply the result of the giant baby I’m growing and my very short torso Blush

bespokepaininthearse · 07/12/2019 21:11

Had my midwife home visit today, to go through my birth plan which is exciting! She said baby is 2/5 engaged, and won't come back out from there, will only engage another 5th, so hopefully we are on track for baby to come a little bit earlier!!

Comps83 · 08/12/2019 02:55

@bespokepaininthearse so the home visit midwives examine you? This is going to sound so harsh and make me sound like a right bitch but I wouldn’t have let that grubby woman who turned up on my doorstep last Monday unannounced with what looked like a 15 yr old trainee in tow touch me with a barge pole . So that’s worrying . The whole thing felt so unprofessional I’m starting to worry if they were genuine but maybe that’s just because I still feel like I’d been ambushed

Bit worried as baby seems to have moved after being in the same position for months . I can feel different movements in places I haven’t felt them before

bespokepaininthearse · 08/12/2019 12:52

@Comps83 it was my 37 week appointment with my midwife, I've seen her most apps throughout the pregnancy. Where I am they do the birth plan at home at 37 weeks, I'm not sure if it's different else where! She didn't internally examine me, did heartbeat and measurements that then just felt belly and did that horrible breathe in pushing thing and she said head is well in there about 2/5s, she said head won't come out when it's in that far

Comps83 · 08/12/2019 13:35

I’m going to have a word with my mw on Wednesday. I’ll be 38 weeks and still no birth plan. I’ll also be mentioning the surprise home visit . I don’t feel very well informed at all for a first pregnancy

OP posts:
bespokepaininthearse · 08/12/2019 15:51

I think you should have definitely done your birth plan by now, my midwife notified me at my last app that's the next one would be birth plan, maybe give them a call if your feeling under supported, it's hard with your first as you don't know what to expect!

starflake · 09/12/2019 07:52

It's a full moon on Thursday 12th! I'm having my sweep Thursday. I wonder will anyone here go on Thursday. Midwives always say birth rates increase on a full moon.

Comps83 · 09/12/2019 08:46

Arrrrgh we keep joking that we hope he comes on the 12th so we don’t have to decide who to vote for because neither of us can make a decision Grin

OP posts:
starflake · 09/12/2019 11:23

@Comps83 I'm in Ireland so no hassles there for me! When I found out when I was due I googled the full moon around Dec. Forgot about it till this morning.
Was nearly ringing my maternity hospital on Saturday night, woke up with contractions, proper contractions spreading from my back around my bump, stopped then! But every time I moved position in bed they started again for a few mins & then stopped! My doctor reckons baby is gonna come flying out after all these pains I'm having. Here's hoping 😂

Comps83 · 09/12/2019 13:20

@starflake sounds like it won’t be long now

Hi all I was on last thread due date originally 29th dec but had consultant today and induction booked in for this sunday 15th and I can't wait so fed up of being in pain with the spd but then i think the reality of it is also hitting me and I'm feeling the nerves!!

Mamabear12 · 09/12/2019 17:08

Baby came early! She was due the 20th of December and had her last night! All happened so fast - under 3 hours!

Not prepared at all for xmas . Still need to order gifts, wrap them etc!! Wasn’t expecting to give birth so soon! Plus we need to set up stroller, side cot etc etc!

Mamabear12 · 09/12/2019 17:08

Good luck to everyone else waiting to give birth. Prepare what you can now as you could end up being early!!
