Well at yesterday's appointment they couldn't sweep me, cervix was still too high! Booked in for Tuesday to start induction so I'm to be at hospital at 8pm with expected delivery in Wednesday. Was hoping a sweep would help the induction so I'm now dreading going in as I know I'm not ready for labour so will need drip etc. I've cleaned the whole house today & bounced on my ball for hours, that's the plan till Tuesday, walk bounce walk bounce, try push this baby down 😂
My boobs have only leaked on this pregnancy & my first. The other 2 I had no sign of milk till after birth so I wouldn't worry

RLI1105 · 13/12/2019 23:10

@starflake that's so exciting that you're going in so soon! Hopefully all your ball bouncing will do the trick. My fingers are crossed for you!

I had my first twinges today! I have had literally no signs whatsoever that labour could be on the horizon so it came as a bit of a surprise! Nothing major just some slightly painful contractions, not in any pattern or significant length and what I believe is called "lightening crotch" (this is unpleasant!)
I'm quite surprised as I had a midwife appointment yesterday and the baby is only ever so slightly engaged and quite high up still.
I'm not getting excited but I'm optimistically hoping stuff is starting to happen and it means at least I won't go too far over. Famous last words!!

Terrible heartburn again
Had an hours walk and I’ve had a good few hours in the bath
Don’t think this baby wants to come out anytime soon
Still feel stressy about sweep or not to sweep next week. DH isn’t helping by constantly complaining that he’s bored of waiting .

Hi all!
We‘ve just had curry! I’ve had a long bath and done two dog walks. Come on baby!!! I still haven’t felt anything at all :(!

December2019 · 14/12/2019 20:30

These babies are keeping us on our toes aren't they 😂
I've been nesting really bad today I don't think there is anywhere in this house that hasn't been hoovered, and I keep sniffing clean washing (I started doing this just before labour last time) hoping it's a sign lol

Comps83 · 14/12/2019 21:08

Feels like he’s having a rave in there
And using my bladder as a punch bag!

40+4 today... don't feel like baby wants to come out at all atm. I'm hoping that all of a sudden it just happens but feel like it's just wishful thinking!

starflake · 15/12/2019 09:29

Well girls I am that desperate to get her out I gave in and had sex this morning to see if it will move things along! Am now going shopping, getting the last of Xmas shopping done so lots of walking! If this doesn't work I'm giving up hope and just accepting fate of induction on Tuesday night.

Jowd92 · 15/12/2019 10:20

Fingers crossed for you @starflake my induction is booked for today have to ring my hospital to see if my bed is ready at 4 I hardly slept all night so nervous!

jpaws · 15/12/2019 10:27

Ah good luck to both of you!

December2019 · 15/12/2019 10:55

Good luck girls... it's so exiting 😊
I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and I'm just exhausted now I just want this gorgeous boy out so I can chase my toddler and play with him I feel like I'm letting him down because I can't do those things at the minute 😭

starflake · 15/12/2019 11:52

@Jowd92 oh that's exciting!! Keep us updated.... Best of luck X

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 15/12/2019 13:27

@starflake @Jowd92 good luck to you both!!
I’ve also had sex this weekend and still nothing!! I’m not getting any pain or any severe BH, nothing! Just want her to arrive now 🙄
@December2019 ahh I don’t have another child so I can’t relate but I hope he arrives soon!!

Jowd92 · 15/12/2019 16:41

Still got to wait :( rang for my bed at 4 and they said it now wont be ready until half 8! What a joke

starflake · 15/12/2019 18:47

Nothing worse!! I hate waiting. I'm dying to know how you get on so the waiting is killing me never mind you 😂

Jowd92 · 15/12/2019 19:05

I'll keep you updated I asked them if I will be started tonight still as if they would of said no I might aswel of gone in tomorrow but they said I will be started tonight hate being in hospitals too specialy alone as it's going to be late now guessing they will send my partner home

Dec19baby · 15/12/2019 19:12

You'd think if they're keeping you in hospital for your induction then your partner should be there. As if labour starts then it's usually more intense so you shouldn't have to be in alone? As it's still labour, so you're entitled to a birth partner? Otherwise he'll be just waiting at home for a call to say come now it's started..
I don't think I could be in hospital alone for an induction, especially if you're a first timer?

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 15/12/2019 19:44

@Jowd92 oh no! I hope by now you are more aware of what is going on, surely they can’t send your partner home! I’ll keep my fingers crossed all goes smoothly for you!
I hope when we next hear from you, you’ll have your little one!

Jowd92 · 15/12/2019 19:58

No they say partners can only stay until 10 at night if your not in active labour I always get upset being there alone i hate it and no not my first time this is my 4th baby I dread him coming home as if anything happens in the night I know he wouldnt answer phone his a deep sleeper

starflake · 15/12/2019 21:30

I'll be the same, have to be there by 8pm Tuesday night, my DP can only stay a few hours as I'll be on a ward till active labour begins. Hate the idea of things moving fast and him missing it but I know the chances of that are minimal. At least they can be back with us by morning when there is more of a chance of things moving along.

Jowd92 · 15/12/2019 22:14

Yes I'm on a ward now had monitoring said they cant start me just yet said it could be early hours in the morning again hate being here alone very upsetting I wanna be home with my kids :( will be clock watching until morning when my partner can come back cant get any sleep in here as it's too noisy and also being monitored every 4 hours doesn't help

December2019 · 15/12/2019 22:40

@Jowd92 that just sounds awful you should probably try and get a bit of sleep even if it's a couple of hours, just keep thinking positive! Your gonna meet your baby soon, every extra minute your there your that bit closer to meeting your beautiful baby
I'll be thinking of you tonight hun xx

Funnybunnyfluff · 15/12/2019 22:46

Wow I lost the thread 🙈!

@Jowd92 sorry to hear your alone. I would not be happy at all.

As far as I'm aware partners are now allowed to stay all night at my hospital. Been said to me so many times now.

Hopefully you have some headphones and can listen to something.

Thinking of you. I'm 39+3 Iv had a lot of lightning pains tonight for a few hours now. Not sure if it means somthing or not. Baby been moving a lot. This is my first so no experience 🙈.

Jowd92 · 15/12/2019 23:04

Yeah that's what I keep thinking hopefully tomorrow I will get to meet my baby will all be worth it in the end just keeping my fingers crossed all goes well and hopefully not waiting too long once they do eventually start me

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 16/12/2019 06:31

@Jowd92 i’m so sorry this has been such a long process for you! Hopefully as you say, it’s not long to go now and you should meet your little one today! Got my fingers crossed for you!!
@starflake good luck for Tuesday!
@Funnybunnyfluff that sounds promising! I still have absolutely no signs whatsoever!! I wish I could bring this baby out soon 😩!
