Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

Oh Regina that's so frustrating. I second what Kentishgal said though.

BirthdayKake good on you for having a sneaky scan. I wouldn't be able to keep it to myself after that though!

Kentishgal EDD is 7 July and yes the consultant has agreed to and ELCS, which I'm hoping will be 2 or 3 July. Although never possible to predict, appreciate that.

Kentishgal · 23/01/2019 17:18

I had all good intentions to use reusable nappies with my daughter (mostly for environmental reasons) and for one reason (excuse) or another I never got round to it. I do have a cess-pool though which requires frequent draining at great expense so maybe it wouldn't have been a good idea with all the extra wash loads. Also nursery require disposables (but then I didn't put her in nursery until she was a year so not really an excuse). However, I haven't heard of the reuseable wipes - will have to have a Google - any useful links would be much appreciated!

Trying2bemum · 23/01/2019 17:19

Congrats on girls kentish and kake!

Giraffe888 · 23/01/2019 17:22

Everyone is convinced I’m having a girl but I’ve no idea!

BeckyButterfly · 23/01/2019 17:27

@Giraffe888 everyone has already decided I’m having a boy. They all refer to the bean as “he” and the in-law family all day the bean looks like my husband just from the scan pic! I’m starting to feel left out!! Haha.

Trouble2cats · 23/01/2019 17:36

We used reusables for a while but found that putting them on properly (so they don't leak) really difficult and stopped around 6months, maybe a bit later. I did not mind the washing.
40 degrees is fine for a wash, I did the occasional 60 degree too. I'm happy to answer any questions.
Bambio mio are meant to be good but not as absorbant as other but on the plus side, they dry quickly.

BirthdayKake · 23/01/2019 17:46

We were going to keep it to ourselves but instead we're going to have a gender reveal party in March 😂 fuck it, I'm still poorly and need something to concentrate on, and after four babies, it's one thing I've never done before! I'm the most socially awkward person ever though so wish me luck lol

cravingmilkshake · 23/01/2019 17:54

Hi all, checking in from previous thread.

RoseBud2016 · 23/01/2019 18:14

@Capybaras no worries Smile

@kentishgal This is the kit we bought. We then added on a colourful wipes set for hands and faces. But we already had a nappy bin so didn’t need the full kit with dirty box. www.cheekywipes.com/baby-wipes-kit/baby-wipes-kit-mini.html

The full kit including dirty box is here: www.cheekywipes.com/baby-wipes-kit/baby-wipes-kit.html

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/01/2019 18:15

@BirthdayKake that's such a nice idea having a gender reveal. I've been thinking I'd love to do something fun too, bet we don't though 😂 I really want one of those big balloons that you pop to see the colour inside but we wouldn't have a party so pretty pointless

GiGi18 · 23/01/2019 18:15

Congrats on all the girls!

I'm so excited to find out what we are having, convinced it's a boy by nub theory but who knows if that's reliable or not! Not sure if we should wait until 20 week scan first week of March or go for splash out for an early one!

@ReginaPhalange89 that's rubbish about the bloods, agree that you should demand the better test!

Interested in all the reusable chat, I'm definitely going to try and use reusable wipes. I really fancy the nappies too but bit scared about the initial investment in case I hate it!

Giraffe888 · 23/01/2019 18:26

I think we might put coloured confetti in a balloon to reveal to each set of parents. Don’t want to just say ‘we’re having girl/boy’!

We got our early gender scan on groupon, it’s only cost us £21 or we wouldn’t have bothered x

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 23/01/2019 18:39

Can I jump back in? I haven't posted since thread one Shock but have been lurking!
We had an extra reassurance scan yesterday and the sonographer asked if we fancied having a look at what we might be having. We were planning on waiting for the 20 week scan (didn't find out with DS) but she got a really clear shot and it looks like we're having a girl!! So it's a bit more real now Grin

BirthdayKake · 23/01/2019 18:45

@Regina weirdly that's EXACTLY what me and DH were originally going to do. Have the big balloon reveal... But just with us two. And film it. But in the end I was in a shitty mood on Monday so I booked a gender scan for that day and didn't even tell DH Shock

Congratulations Rosi! So many girls! Hope we don't all pick the same name 😂

SnailorSwift · 23/01/2019 18:50

Oh my goodness so exciting people are beginning to find out the sex!

I'm not going to find out at 20week as DH won't be there but we've booked a private fender scan for round 23 weeks when he's home!!! So a good while yet to wait!

@ReginaPhalange89 I know I was so so sure of dates too I'm not convinced! I'm not massively concerned though as due to my previous experience (badly managed!!!) I'd rather be dated a week ahead than a week behind.

SnailorSwift · 23/01/2019 18:50

*gender - obvs!

Giraffe888 · 23/01/2019 18:57

How far are you @Rosie? How exciting!

AIDE2424 · 23/01/2019 19:12

@ReginaPhlange89 I’m having the other test too got it next week, as they couldn’t get the measurements on my dating scan, apparently it only test for Down’s syndrome I got told by the midwife not the other two xx

Jxtina86 · 23/01/2019 19:17

Hi ladies - yay for a new thread!

So exciting that some have found out the sex - congrats!! Even though we're not, love hearing about those who do and so thrilled for you!!

Might be jumping the gun but I've got to have a glucose intolerance test in April and wondered if anyone was having one too? My midwife said it was because I'm at risk of gestational diabetes because my parents are both diabetic but I was telling a friend and she said it was standard... just wondered what everyone else had heard about this? It's not a fun one - fasting from 10pm, one test at 8.30am then a glucose drink followed by another blood test 2 hours later and can't eat until after that. Not looking forward to it but needs must!

TwinkleDay · 23/01/2019 19:21

Hi all at our new home.

Congratulations to those having lots of little girls! Would any of you mind sharing there scan pic photos with what they are having and I'm not finding out but love a good study over your cuties x

BeckyButterfly · 23/01/2019 19:53

Maternity clothes update:
As well as my lovely comfy Lidl jeans, I ordered two pairs of leggings and a pair of jeggings from Matalan which arrived today. I tried them on and have been wearing one of the pairs of leggings all evening (until just now when I decided it was time for PJs!) and they are super comfortable.

Just in case anyone was looking for stuff. None of it was too expensive either, I’m pretty skint at the minute as the hubby isn’t earning so trying to keep costs low. I had a minor heart attack when I saw the price of maternity clothes from most websites!

Onestep2 · 23/01/2019 19:58

Just marking my spot!!

thedust · 23/01/2019 20:21

@Jxtina86 I'm booked in for one also in April because I've got PCOS but I think different trusts have different policies. Usually it's if you're marked as high risk or then measure big as you get further along. It isn't standard where I am.

HchyScott · 23/01/2019 20:27

I asked my midwife too as my friend said it was standard but it isn’t where I am, only if you have risk factors

Jxtina86 · 23/01/2019 20:30

@thedust aren't we the lucky ones then?! 😉 I'm planning on bringing a small feast for afterwards - I can't function without breakfast so I'm going to be a wreck by the time it's over!
