Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

I bet half of us aren’t on it, including me! Thanks for starting Roo!

Chinks123 · 23/01/2019 15:24

Thanks for starting a new one. Thankyou for all the kind comments everyone, he’s been lovely lately and unfortunately depression is something that’s going to feature in our lives. Once he’s got a hold on it he’ll be fine. I’m so excited now. I’ll just carry on with my normal cup of tea then, it was vile it didn’t even taste like tea. Sad

Kentishgal · 23/01/2019 15:30

Have had harmony test results back - all low risk - less than 1 in 10,000 now so that's a huge relief!!! My stomach was churning (irrational I know as 1 in 700 is still low risk).

And we're having another little girl! My daughter will be so pleased - although she'd already decided it was a girl anyway!!

thedust · 23/01/2019 15:33

Marking my place! Glad you are now feeling more excited @Chinks123.

I feel like the last few weeks have flown by since we've announced to everyone. I now have a bump that I can't really hide any longer. It's big enough for people who know I'm expecting to comment on it but to people who don't know I probably just look a bit bloated still.

StargazyDrifter · 23/01/2019 15:38

Thank you for thenew thread, Roo!

Kentishgal that's really great news, and similar to me, I went from 1:800 to less than 1:10,000. Really reassuring. And we're also having a girl! ❤️

reeny19 · 23/01/2019 15:53

Aw @kentishgal you know the gender already! Well jel 😝

Re the disposable nappies issue, I’m really not sure what’s best. Waste from my district gets incinerated to produce electricity so it’s not like anything goes to landfill. And there’s the energy costs associated with washing disposables. What temperature cycle would they need to be washed at? Can you put them in with other clothes?

reeny19 · 23/01/2019 16:00

*washing re-useables I mean! Blush only half awake here must be the lack of caffeine haha

RooKangaroo · 23/01/2019 16:15

Great news, @Kentishgal! Must be a relief x

Aww congrats on two girls in the group, I cannot WAIT to find out on the 15th Feb, time is going so slowly!

BirthdayKake · 23/01/2019 16:17

Congrats girls! I had a secret gender scan on Monday and I'm also having a girl! ❤️❤️ Absolutely over the moon and already buying beautiful sleepsuits x

BeckyButterfly · 23/01/2019 16:22

I’m not finding out the gender till my 20 week scan on the 6th of March. Jealous of those of you who know already!

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/01/2019 16:24

Hi all! Checking in.

I just had a phone call from one of the midwifes (and totally panicked thinking something was wrong). I had my scan on Friday just past, and bloods to do the screening test for down syndrome etc. They've only gone and lost my bloods haven't they 🙈 and I'm passed the 13+6 now so they can't do the test 🙈 she said they can do another that's similar but not as accurate so I've to go for more bloods on Monday.

Has anyone else had this ? I'm not sure what the test is called but I'm worried now they've said it's not as accurate

BeckyButterfly · 23/01/2019 16:26

@ReginaPhalange89 what a pain! I wonder how on earth they manage to lose blood samples..!

ememem84 · 23/01/2019 16:26

Hello. Joining in the new thread.

My 20 week scan will be mid March. We’re going to find out the sex if we can then. With ds it was so bloody obvious.

Back for a rescan tomorrow morning to do the downs screening.

Started feeling lightheaded again. Sigh.

RoseBud2016 · 23/01/2019 16:26

Fantastic new @Kentishgal. Such a huge relief for you x

We use reusable wipes with DD and have done since she was born. They are fantastic and I would highly recommend them. We bought a starter pack from Cheeky Wipes plus and extra colourful set for hands and faces that we keep in the kitchen. We wash them with our other wasking at 40c and they come out clean and unstained.

We used reusable nappies )Bambino Mio) nappies with DD until she was 6 months old with much success, but once we started weaning her, I have to admit it all got a bit much for me. The poos were horrific. Shock I moved to disposable nappies after that. Also something to consider is as the baby gets bigger, they wee a lot more do you need to add more boosters to prevent leaks. It becomes a lot of washing. I do have friends that have continued all the way to 18 months though.
We still use reusable swim nappies each week for our lessons.

Placemarking for now.

This link should work. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y-XaVbeNQM-bCGlr_UxXxcBBNGUfIVQY_4htZRUpbbw/edit?usp=drivesdk

Kentishgal · 23/01/2019 16:29

Thank you all! Stargazydrifter I thought of you when I saw the rests because we had v similar odds and increased to the same! Congratulations on having a girl too - what is your due date - you're having an elcs too aren't you?

reginaphalange I would kick up a real fuss and insist that they give you the nipt test at no cost on the nhs. It is their cock up so they should rectify the situation in the best way possible.

BirthdayKake · 23/01/2019 16:33

Regina that is terrible and I think KentishGirl has a great idea! Depends if you have the confidence to confront them though? I'm rubbish at things like that!

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/01/2019 16:34

@BeckyButterfly they didn't technically lose them , they've turned up but it's just too late to test them now 🙈

@Kentishgal I don't know anything about all these tests 🙈 will this one I'm having done not be very good ? Ill have to google 🙈

Kentishgal · 23/01/2019 16:39

reginaphalange I'm afraid I don't know anything about the other test (but I'm sure someone else on here can help). But why should you have to put up with something which is apparently less reliable when it's not your fault. I think the nipt is over 99% accurate as it is based on dna. It's not a nice conversation to have (I'm a litigation lawyer and yet I can't stand confrontation when it's something personal) - can your partner give them a ring or chat with the midwife to make a complaint on your behalf?

Giraffe888 · 23/01/2019 16:44

@reginaphalange89 I would be annoyed too. I know a few people who have been scanned too late to have the normal tests done so had the other and it was still ok. I don’t know much about them though

Quite a few girls on this thread 💗 I’m counting down to finding out!

Got 20wk scan date through today too. It’s at 5pm...what a rubbish time!

My EDD is now wrong on that doc (should be 27th) but I can’t edit the doc. If someone goes on could they change mine please? X

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/01/2019 16:55

Congrats on the girlies 💕 I'm convinced I'm having another girl too !

Capybaras · 23/01/2019 17:05

Placemarking! Congrats on all the girls! Can't wait to find out what we're having!

Capybaras · 23/01/2019 17:07

That's good info to have @RoseBud2016 re the later stages of baby's poo! I forgot that eventually they do real poo so maybe will try reusable to begin with as suggested and then move onto disposables if it gets a bit much!
Maybe have to invest in a tumble dryer!

BirthdayKake · 23/01/2019 17:13

Thank you! It's really helped me feel more positive because I still have sickness, but now the baby is a real little girl rather than a parasite sucking the life out of me! DH is already ridiculously protective over her.
