Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

Yey @Regina! What wonderful news!!!! Thrilled for you!

Not too much breathless, although worn out quicker, but last couple of days heart has been racing randomly and (v weird) can hear/feel my heartbeat in my left ear!! Dr google tells me this is really common in pregnancy and the ear thing is pulsative tinnitus. I REALLY hope it does one as it’s horrid!

Onestep2 · 15/02/2019 09:10

@reginaPhalange89 great news! you will be over the moon!

20 week scan day for us today! cant wait for another sneaky peak at baby. firmly staying in team yellow though!! baby movements are defo getting stronger and more regular. notice them at night in bed or if ive been sitting still for a while!!

HchyScott · 15/02/2019 09:46

Eeekkk it’s my 20 weeks scan in two hours!!!! Hoping to find out the gender and have taken the whole day off so that all being well, we can treat ourselves to a nice lunch out and a trip over to mamas and papas for some shopping! Got everything crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

HchyScott · 15/02/2019 09:47

Hope all goes well for you too @onestep2! X

Capybaras · 15/02/2019 10:05

Good luck for all the scans today! I've only got to wait until Monday for mine but cannot wait!
Making a full day of it sounds lovely @HchyScott - wish we could but my DH is a teacher! We're going to go pram shopping on the weekend after the scan though all being well.

I've been getting breathless - struggling on the slightest incline/stairs! Not even that big yet so god knows how it'll be in late pregnancy!

Baby's kicking me right now which is so lovely. It's like a little reminder they're there. Excited to find out if it's a girl or boy so we can stop calling them it!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 15/02/2019 10:59

My scan isn't till Wednesday. I'm feeling very impatient now!

Kentishgal · 15/02/2019 11:16

Good luck to those having scans! Mine seems ages away - 1 March. Feel v. apprehensive about it. We've almost used up another thread!

AIDE2424 · 15/02/2019 11:25

My 20 week scan isn’t till 15th March think I’m going to be the last in the group, luckily have my scan tomorrow morning to tick me over!

I’ll be almost 21 weeks at my scan in March!
So tired today, could sleep for a week!xx

Chinks123 · 15/02/2019 11:32

@AIDE2424 you’re not the last, I’m the 19th March! Smile
I’ve booked a private scan in the meantime because it just feels so far away.

JSCRJ · 15/02/2019 11:46

@Twistering, I have that heartbeat in the ear thing too. Only thought to Google it yesterday and saw it was a form of tinnitus. Wasn't sure if I should do something about it and see a GP, or just see if it goes away by itself. How long have you had it for? I think mine has been going on a week or so on and off

GiGi18 · 15/02/2019 11:49

I've been rubbish at keeping up with contributing to the chat too but have been following along!

@ReginaPhalange89 that's fantastic news. Congrats on your little boy too. Can't believe the NHS test can be so wrong.

I've got a cold so feeling sorry for myself and it's making me even more breathless. I walked the three miles to work today and was so out of breath trying to chat to my friend on the walk haha!

Good luck with all the scans, mine isn't till the 5th March, cannot wait! Keep nearly caving and booking a private one but need to save the pennies for new house and baby stuff.

I had the Whooping Cough jag this week and midwife last week, all fine. Think I'm feeling some flutters but they seem too high up for where I am in the pregnancy so not sure if it's baby or not 🤪

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/02/2019 12:47

Good luck with all the scans ! Mines not til 5th March so feeling impatient ! Although we only had one last week lol. It's just so nice to see them again ! Mines still with a consultant even though my results were fine , not sure why ! Maybe because the NHS need to confirm it was well as the Harmony or something

I'm finding it hard to buy.... I've been out this morning , went to TK Maxx, a little boutique baby shop and Sainsburys and didn't buy a thing! Was looking just for muslins or some vests or something but nothing caught my eye at all. Boys stuff definitely isn't as nice as girls !

Capybaras · 15/02/2019 13:03

I've got quite a few bits saved to baskets which I don't want to buy until we get the all clear (fingers crossed) on Monday. I actually much prefer the boys clothing - find the girls stuff too pink!

Trying to work out my mat leave at the moment and it's complicated! Wish HR would give you a break down of A/L, earnings etc but they don't here, so I'm trying to calculate how much I'll 'earn' each month so we can plan accordingly! Want to take a year though, with A/L tacked on at the end so we're not completely skint!

Twistering · 15/02/2019 15:06

@JSCRJ just a few days really....but I think I may have discovered something that helps (prob jinx it now). Read about dehydration making it worse so have nailed loads of water today and seems to have stopped for now....

Twistering · 15/02/2019 15:14

Might be worth looking at more neutral stuff clothes wise..?.I am being stalked by ads for Mori on Instagram and the stuff is gorgeous..

RooKangaroo · 15/02/2019 15:28

Happy Friday everyone!

@ReginaPhalange89, I'm so pleased for you! What a fantastic relief! x

Envious of those all with scans (or scans coming up soon). Mine isn't for two weeks still.

We were firmly on team yellow for our first and never wavered. Think DH and I were both happy with that. With this one though, DH is starting to think we should find out. He says he'd like it to be another girl and if it's a boy he wants some time to be prepared in case he's a little disappointed. I completely get this and I'm glad he's being honest with me.

If I'm honest with myself, I don't quite feel as strongly about being team yellow this time round. I think I'm more open to finding out at the sex at the anomaly scan.

What do others think? I don't think there's a viable solution where he knows and I don't as it would be unfair on him to have to keep it secret, and he wouldn't be able to participate in name discussions in the same way.

On the clothes issue, I also find it hard to find nice things. Girls' things tend to be too pink, unicorns, sparkles, etc. (especially as you get into the toddler size), while boys' things tend to be quite grey, dark colours, etc.

Where are the lovely bright yellows, reds, green, blues????

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/02/2019 15:32

I didn't like baby pink with either of my girls and now I don't seem to like baby blue ! Lol. I don't really like cutesy stuff that the boutiques sell. I seem to be drawn more to Navy and neutral colours for bo

I seem to be suffering from headaches the last few days ! Thought it was stress but I'm much more chilled today and still have one

Twistering · 15/02/2019 15:43

Also @Capybras I feel your pain! The policy doc that explains it all is incomprehensible and HR not much help. Said they can’t give me any sort of prediction until right near Mat leave. Let’s hope my made up sums aren’t too far off!! They can’t even seem to tell me what happens about my pension contributions- and I work for a massive company!

BirthdayKake · 15/02/2019 15:43

I've been dyeing muslins in bright colours!

StargazyDrifter · 15/02/2019 16:00

Capybaras and Twistering I'm also in HR policy hell at the moment. They don't half complicate this stuff!
