Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

Checking in to the new thread. Terrible sleep here too. I drift off really easily (because I'm so tired!) and then wake after a couple of hours and toss and turn all night. Had 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and heard the baby's heartbeat, so lovely to know everything is alright in there! Midwife suggested recording it and really glad we did, so nice to watch back!

CalmerComber · 25/01/2019 07:07

Waking up early too - my lower back is just absolute agony. Also peeing twice a night already?! Wondering if that’s a sign of gestational diabetes setting in already - I know it’s a symptom of type 2.

I had GD when preg with DD and managed to avoid insulin but the the diet is really difficult. Giving up sugar for 5 months was awful but I think better than injections.

Giraffe888 · 25/01/2019 07:54

What are the symptoms of gestational diabetes? What makes you get it?

Yukka · 25/01/2019 08:52

Well I slept from 11pm to 6:30. No wee’s no nightmares, nothing. Bliss. I’m off work today so meeting my sis and her 7 week old for lunch.

Interested in symptoms of GD too I’m already booked in for a test early may due to parental history of type 2.

Yukka · 25/01/2019 09:06

@tryingtobemum I just read that increased ‘pleasure’ Is due to increased blood flow to your vajangle :) dh won’t go near me cos of x3 mcs but giving what’s coming on the other side of birth we need to make the most of this time!! Although I could do with feeling less sick all the time it doesn’t exactly get you in the mood thinking I might vomit in his face 🤮

Trying2bemum · 25/01/2019 09:08

Happy Friday xx got my screening results back - all nice and low. T21 - 1:7543 and the others less than 1:20,000.

Am rocking maternity jeans (topshop) and my baby on board badge today 😁 must remember to remove it before getting to work - most people still don't know..

Trying2bemum · 25/01/2019 09:09

@Yukka I read that too - was looking it up as so worried that sex / orgasms posed any risk. Glad to read they don't!

Kentishgal · 25/01/2019 09:10

I'm another night waker - usually about 4am but last night it was 2:30am and I must have got another half hour after that! One thing I do recall from last time was the terrible pregnancy insomnia, particularly towards the end (I had carpel tunnel last time which I think contributed as it was particularly bad at night), which is awful because by the time baby arrives you are absolutely exhausted - going to try my relaxation hypnotherapy this time.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 25/01/2019 09:15

@CalmerComber my back is in agony too. No idea what's going on.

Can't believe how back I'm sleeping at the moment. Was awake from 2 till god knows what time Confused

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/01/2019 09:22

Morning all !
It's pay day ! So we've just booked our Gender Scan eeek! 13th Feb. Not long to wait .
I tossed and turned all last night , then DD woke at 4.45 ! She went back to sleep and only just woken again but had to get her sister up for school so I'm shattered

Yukka · 25/01/2019 09:35

@tryingtobemum good results for you too :)

The benefit if having 3 sisters with 6 kids is:

1x0-12 month car seat
1xcot and mattress
1x high chair
1x posh 3 wheeler stroller
1x travel cot
And a bunch of new born stuff from baby that will be 7 months when ours arrives.

Result! I get to spend on all the cute stuff :)

HchyScott · 25/01/2019 11:21

Morning ladies, well, over the last two days my tummy has really popped out! But oh my, the pains today! Feels like I’m totally full of wee, poo, baby or wind, like bloating down low. So uncomfortable, I’m guessing it’s stretching pains and everything moving around in there! I even have to be careful when I sit down or get up, but hey ho, at least I look more pregnant now rather than still carrying the Christmas chub!!

Capybaras · 25/01/2019 13:19

Oh that's exciting @HchyScott

I think I may have finally found the holy grail - maternity tights that don't fall down!!! Had the John Lewis 60denier ones for a few days now and still no slippage even after my daily lunchtime walks! Fingers crossed they stay this way!

RoseBud2016 · 25/01/2019 14:27

Great news @trying2bemum!

We got our screening results back today too and they are almost identical to yours. Very pleased! Smile

Anyone fancy a bump round up? How is someone’s bump looking now? X

SnailorSwift · 25/01/2019 14:32

@Giraffe888 and @Yukka lots of people have no symptoms at all and those that do it's things like increased thirst, needing to pee more, dry mouth, tiredness. Which doesn't help much as these are all common pregnancy side affects too 😂

@Giraffe888 you don't cause it as such it happens when your body can't produce enough insulin to meet the increased demands of pregnancy so anyone can develop GD but there are known risk factors which your midwife will have screened for.

SnailorSwift · 25/01/2019 14:35

No idea why half of my post is in bold 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
I'm not functioning well today!

There is slapped cheek in my DS's class and I'm not immune - praying he doesn't catch it as if he does this will be the 2nd time during this pregnancy I will have been exposed 😩

Trouble2cats · 25/01/2019 15:01

@SnailorSwift, I've been exposee twice too, once at a birthday party last weekend and a couple of days ago, nursery informed us of a confirmed case in our room. I am waiting anxiously for my blood results!

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/01/2019 15:29

Thought I'd share here !
Some of us over on the FB group have had gender predicttions done by 'the nuboligists' ! They've said boy for me which I'm so shocked about as I'm convinced girl lol!

Chinks123 · 25/01/2019 15:31

Just got my results back:
Down’s syndrome risk - 1 in 100,000
Edward’s/Patau’s risk- 1 in 100,000
Pleased with that!

Chinks123 · 25/01/2019 15:32

Aw @ReginaPhalange89 I wanted to do the nub theory but I’m not sure my scans clear enough, the picture seems quite blurry Sad

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/01/2019 15:35

@chinks123 you should submit the photo anyway, it costs £5 but they don't ask for payment until they have seen the photo and are at least 85% sure, otherwise they reply saying sorry they can't be sure! I sent 3 different images and they used this one, this was the one I was sure looked girly too!

Giraffe888 · 25/01/2019 15:59

@reginaphalange89 how do you do it?

From your pics I thought boy straightaway!

BirthdayKake · 25/01/2019 16:00

Regina I am convinced you're having a boy! Bet you're looking forward to the 13th lol

I will definitely post a bump picture once I get a nice one. And can move off the sofa! Ha

My friend helped me put on the new bedding I bought weeks ago yesterday, and last night I ACTUALLY SLEPT!!! So if anyone wants any tips, you need to get to Dunelm Mill and buy a duck feather duvet, the Heavenly Hummingbird bedding set and a Dorma 350 thread count sheet 😂

SnailorSwift · 25/01/2019 16:06

@Trouble2cats fingers crossed you are immune!

Really hoping my DS has avoided it but about half his class seem to have if 🤦🏼‍♀️

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/01/2019 16:13

@giraffe888, check out the website it's babybooclub.com

You basically email them your scan photo with the gestation you were at the time of the scan, and they'll reply either saying they've got a result , they won't ask for payment unless they're at least 85% sure, they'll reply saying they can't tell if they're not sure , and if they are you make a payment then they send you the results with a little description of how they came to the decision!

I thought boy at my scan but since then I've convinced myself it's a girl 🙈 I am hoping it is a boy because I've two girls already, but I'm trying not to convince myself so I'm not too disappointed if they're wrong lol
