@celebelly I was given the form at my 24 wk the midwife filled in her section I took it to fill in mine and popped it in the post.

Make sure that you keep the other half though as it will have your reference number on it incase you need to contact them

sickmumma · 18/10/2018 21:03

@Yakadee yes last night was uncontrollable crying and laughter as I realised how silly it all was! I went a little mad!

Celebelly · 18/10/2018 21:05

Thanks, ladies! 24-week appointment seems like a more interesting one than the others so far: listening to heartbeat for first time, getting my Mat1b form and baby box form! Quite looking forward to it!

Yakadee · 18/10/2018 21:08

@sickmumma - pregnancy giggles are one of the best things! I seriously laughed for ages at this picture that to anyone else probably wasn't even that funny! Love it! X

Notquiteagandt · 18/10/2018 21:16

Nice to hear pregnancy giggles are a thing. Thought it was me cracking up being stuck inside for so long. Ive been in fits of giggles over the sillyest things.

Today though ive been a hormonal mess and done nothing but cry all day over trivial things. 😢

emalady · 18/10/2018 21:18

I have my 24 week appointment Monday, looking forward to hearing her again and getting my matB1. I'm mostly getting excited about getting to the third trimester and my next scan /obs appointment in December. Counted 13 weeks left until I start mat leave and 2 of those are annual leave so it is definitely getting closer!!

hayley013 · 18/10/2018 21:28

Wow that's amazing what you get in those boxes! That would be most of my to-buy list ticked off! I've don't know much about them in England, will have a read x

AliceRR · 18/10/2018 21:33

Is pregnancy giggles a thing?!

Yakadee · 19/10/2018 06:15

It certainly is, I love it.

Long day today, appear to have a poorly boy who's feeling very sorry for himself - I'm already downstairs!

How're you guys feeling? Xx

emalady · 19/10/2018 06:33

@yakadee sorry to hear that, hope he is OK.

I'm so looking forward to the weekend, normally work a short day Thursday but was covering so 3 long days in a row and I don't know how any of you do full time work, it's so exhausting!

Yakadee · 19/10/2018 06:44

@emalady - thanks, he had his flu spray yesterday afternoon and he's woken up with a temp and being sick. 😩

I know what you mean, I work 3 days, although don't think today is going to be a nice day off 😩

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 07:11

I feel like I haven’t been feeling as much movement the last couple of days but it’s hard to say.

I usually feel movement particularly when I sit down or lie down after moving around.

I have felt movement throughout the day the last couple of days, just sat up in bed a felt a kick, just doesn’t seem to be as much but don’t know whether I’m imagining it 🤔

twiglet · 19/10/2018 07:41

@Alicerr download this app it's an nhs one and it is free
apps.beta.nhs.uk/kicks-count/

Everytime you feel movement session hit the foot and record it. My midwife also gave me a leaflet which said to lie on your left side for 1-2 hrs if you are unsure of movements if still low etc then call your midwife.

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 08:11

Thanks @twiglet just on my way to work now so can’t lie down

But just sat down on the train and felt her kick

I will download the app but would have been better if I had been doing this before as I have nothing to compare to IYKWIM as I think kicks / movements are less but I wasn’t counting before

twiglet · 19/10/2018 08:25

@Alicerr don't worry I was the same had a worried day about movements and said to my midwife that he doesn't move during the day.

Been using the app for 3 days and found that I was completely wrong on his active times!

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 09:04

@twiglet I see what you mean. Maybe I’ll be more conscious of movements if I’m tracking properly.

I felt a few movements earlier when I was sitting in Nero with DH. I was having a hot chocolate and pain au chocolat and she seems to react most to food / sugar!

I’ll see how it goes this morning and then maybe call MW if I’m worried. At work I’m onky 5 mins walk from hospital although don’t know what they would even do to check everything is ok...

Yakadee · 19/10/2018 09:31

I think they'd put you on a monitor for a while to track baby xx

moonlight1705 · 19/10/2018 11:00

How strange @AliceRR - I think mine is reacting to food as tends to kick more once I've had a good meal.

I'm going to start tracking today and see what happens but my midwife said not to worry until nearer 28 weeks.

Yakadee · 19/10/2018 11:06

Those of you who already have two kids (or anyone). We're looking at getting a bigger car before baby comes so looking for something roomy with a decent book that will fit a good sized pram - any recommendations?? Thanks xx

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 11:22

I called MW and she said she is not concerned given I have already felt movements today and said pattern doesn’t develop until about 28 weeks so pattern may still be developing as baby is growing etc but to call back later if concerned as they are there 24 hours

Alicejj8x · 19/10/2018 12:04

@AliceRR
Try not to worry hun. My Mw alway said to me don't worry about a pattern as such till 24 weeks

I felt the same yday as I didn't feel her move as much as usual but I am on the go a lot with my job so I am sure I rock her to sleep a lot lol but then when I lie down she's there kicking away

Love the kicks count app I have been using it for a few days now

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 12:10

@Alicejj8x Well I am 24 weeks on Sunday!

Yes I’m the same, when I sit down or lie down she gets going but not as much the last two days. I have felt her though especially when there’s food involved!!

AliceRR · 19/10/2018 12:10

I think I’m just a worrier 🙄

Celebelly · 19/10/2018 12:33

We're just in process of buying a new car to replace our second one which died. We're going for a Kia Sportage I think. I've got a few friends with kids who have Sportages and Qashqais and all seem to love them, and we test drove the Sportage recently and I LOVED it. I hate buying new cars, though. It's such a faff! And our dog goes in the boot in her crate so we have to make sure there's enough room elsewhere to fit in stuff. Our trips to visit my parents are bad enough with all the dog's gear - I can't imagine how much stuff we will have with a baby too!

Alicejj8x · 19/10/2018 13:13

@AliceRR that's good you've felt her and I am sure by next week your be able to feel her lots more seeing as your be 24 weeks but they do sleep for long periods of time too my app has been saying
