I'm finding things are happening quicker with number 2, especially the back pain and insomnia. I just take vit d now, the pregnancy vits made me feel awfully sick

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/11/2018 20:05

Other than my bump which is definitely bigger sooner second time round, I don't think I'm feeling anything else earlier this time. I can't remember when I started feeling uncomfortable with my first, I think it was around 30 weeks but only because I had terrible rib flare. I hope I don't get that this time round.

I'm exercising more on this pregnancy and I feel very mobile and fit still at 24+3, no aches and pains or anything, but we'll see how I feel at 30 weeks!

Lookingforadvice123 · 03/11/2018 20:22

With leakage, no one should be getting this! My personal trainer specialises in pregnancy, post natal and beyond and she feels very strongly that women shouldn't have to suffer incontinence at all, and it's completely avoidable, so if you are having this please please go and see a physio as it's likely to get worse after birth!

Do exercises though, I was religious with my first pregnancy and when I was in labour, the midwife actually commented that my muscles were very tight (and that it would make the pushing process harder - boo!) but I haven't had a single problem with any leakage, even straight after having him, so it's definitely worth it.

Still taking pregnacare here.

Wish there was a cure for carpal tunnel but at least it's preparing me for sleepless nights.... 🙈😴

Yakadee · 04/11/2018 07:53

Yep, pregnacare here too! 27 weeks today - hurray! 3rd tri next week 🤭

I can now feel baby at either side at the same time so she's defo getting bigger x

Surprisedmom · 04/11/2018 08:49

Like @FrowningFlamingo I take the vitamins in the evening and don’t feel sick as a consequence. I also take the seven seas ones as I found they made me less sick than pregnacare, plus the packet has days of the week on them so it’s much easier for me to know if I remembered to take them or not.

emalady · 04/11/2018 08:56

I'm still taking pregnacare, only really need the vitamin D but it was taking so long to get pregnant I had massively stocked up, seems to make sense to use them up rather than getting more vitamin d.
This week we are painting the nursery, so exciting, definitely makes it more real. We ordered the pram a while ago but not picking it up for ages.

FrowningFlamingo · 04/11/2018 09:08

@Baby160P have you tried a memory foam pillow? It's totally unscientific and I can't see any logical reason it works but I had carpal tunnel pre pregnancy and a tempur pillow keeps it away completely. I've become one of those people who takes a pillow when they go and stay anywhere Blush

Baby160P · 04/11/2018 09:55

@FrowningFlamingo I do have them but unfortunately it doesn't help. My hands are numb every 45 mins ish I'm waking up and having to stand to get rid of the pain 😩

emalady · 04/11/2018 10:34

Starting to sort out Christmas gifts and being asked what we want. Anyone else finding it really hard to think of anything they want for themselves this year? DH and I have agreed not to do gifts for each other.

Alicejj8x · 04/11/2018 11:02

Ahh that's good to know I've been taking pregnacare the whole way through too :)

Alicejj8x · 04/11/2018 11:12

Glucose test tomorrow morning anyone else have one this week?

lanalawr · 04/11/2018 11:48

@emalady yes I'm struggling too with knowing what to ask for for Christmas. I'm usually like this though. There's things I'd like/need but some family members see them as too practical. DH and I agreed a few years ago that we'd have a £10 limit. I buy him a bottle of wine and he buys me chocolates. Then we have an evening where get get a takeaway/M&S two can dine and share the wine and chocolates (spot the people with a small child 😆).

Since2016 · 04/11/2018 12:19

Re pressies - I’d reccomend a proper pregnancy massage - I had one at 36 weeks pregnant with DD and it was HEAVEN. Or perfume / nice smellies / pyjamas. I used my Christmas stuff just after I had DD (Jan baby) and it was wonderful to feel a bit human / smell nice in the first few weeks - little things like nice cream or posh shower gel really do make a difference!

Great ideas @Since2016, thanks!

I think my baby brain has 100% set in this weekend. Was rearranging my room so that the baby’s things will all fit and getting stuff from storage to switch. I have ended up doing three trips because each time I’ve forgotten something or taken the wrong thing (i.e. the wrong chair legs). Then to top it all off I went to the shops to get some screws and forgot my wallet - managed to pay using my phone but then couldn’t get off the car park because I couldn’t pay for the parking 🤦‍♀️

Baby160P · 04/11/2018 14:24

@Alicejj8x mine is Wednesday

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 04/11/2018 15:26

@emalady we've told people we'd like vouchers, especially mothercare ones.

Yakadee · 04/11/2018 15:51

@Alicejj8x - I had mine on Monday just gone - actually wasn't as bad as I thought. Take some to keep you occupied x

Alicejj8x · 04/11/2018 15:53

@Baby160P is it illl let you know how I get on :)

@Yakadee my OH is coming with me luckily :) what was the drink like that's my only worry lol

Baby160P · 04/11/2018 17:41

I'll be taking good old Netflix with me lol.

I second the drink question!!

Yakadee · 04/11/2018 17:50

I didn't think it was too bad really. There was more of it than I thought, it was in a pouch thing. Didn't love it, wouldn't want to drink it again or anything but doable! X

Yakadee · 04/11/2018 17:51

@Baby160P - what are you going to watch? I downloaded some films from Netflix x

Notquiteagandt · 04/11/2018 17:56

So finally ventured out today to get some freshair. Was only sick a few times this morning so was feeling overly confident.

Went for a walk down the beach now curled up whilst every part of my body aches. Getting the worse braxton hicks and just generally feel crampy and sore!!

Not stopped being sick since I got in either so a baths out.

Does anyone else find if they over do it their body just shuts down and braxton hicks are related to how much they did that day?

Worrying so much about how little strength I have atm and what with labour etc. Feel going to take a while to build myself back up.

15 weeks left and counting down every last week....

Alicejj8x · 04/11/2018 18:04

@Yakadee
Thank you glad to hear it wasn't too bad lol

AliceRR · 04/11/2018 18:05

I have my GTT on Tuesday morning. Plan to take Netflix or an audiobook or something!

This morning I felt a rhythmic sort of tapping low down in my uterus.

Is that probably baby hiccups?
