We get a new one each time but it does seem quite wasteful given I'm using at least one every 2w if not one a week at the moment!

Just had my 25w mw appointment and got to hear the babies 💗💙 have a scan tomorrow morning too so looking forward to seeing them then too! Having difficulty telling which one is which movements wise and whether I can feel them both or only one of them so it's nice to have a bit of reassurance that they are both doing ok in there!

Baby160P · 01/11/2018 15:25

Has anyone felt baby hiccup yet?

First baby so not sure what if feels like but either our baby has great rhythm and kicks in time to a beat or he has the hiccups right now lol

AliceRR · 01/11/2018 15:25

Not sure about hiccups

I’ve felt things where I’m not sure if it’s kicking or Braxton Hicks or hiccups do o idea!

Surprisedmom · 01/11/2018 17:26

At my midwife appointments they give me a cardboard pot for urine samples, so there’s no plastic waste at least.

somethingfromnothing · 01/11/2018 17:53

Hmm I work in the hospital labs and really wouldn’t be keen on reusing a bottle! It’s supposed to be sterile or could easily give a false positive for infection which could lead to unecessary antibiotics.

No hiccups yet but I think I got them the last time!

twiglet · 01/11/2018 18:08

Not sure if I've felt hiccups yet.

I've had a rough few days with very little sleep didn't think it could get worse but managed about 3 hrs last night. So exhausted even being sent home I could only manage an hour nap without waking up.

Still waiting for 2nd trimester energy levels..... Think at 26 weeks it might have skipped me!

Welshshepherdess · 01/11/2018 19:57

No hiccups as of yet. However I have been turned in to a pincushion today. Had blood glucose test (apparently I didn’t need it as someone miscalculated my bmi) Angry it took 6 attempts to get 2 blood samples! Still haven’t had my mat1 as didn’t actually see a midwife!

I must admit the energy levels only picked up this week and I’m 26wk+2

hayley013 · 01/11/2018 20:44

Yes @Baby160P I can feel baby's hiccups! It's just as it was with DD. Hard to describe but like you said, in rhythm just like a tapping feeling for a few minutes at a time x

emalady · 01/11/2018 20:46

@Alicerr I can understand if you have to transfer it home. Not as ideal.
@mrsy87 it must be really hard to tell if they are both moving. Hope your scan is okay.
@welshshepherdess that sounds like a really rough day.
No hiccuping here yet, getting kicked in the cervix today which is pretty unpleasant.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 01/11/2018 21:32

Ugh... mine keeps kicking me in the cervix!! It’s not endearing me to him I have to say.... 😬

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 01/11/2018 21:33

Or ‘him to me’ I mean...

DeliberatelyGinger · 01/11/2018 22:38

This evening I had quite bad stomach cramps that felt like constipation but I'd been to the loo earlier so I thought it was weird. Then I ate dinner and felt loads better so I'm guessing it was severe hunger pangs. Anyone else had this?

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/11/2018 06:52

Thanks all for the cold tips, I've been taking paracetamol twice a day and honey and lemon in hot water. So rubbish that's all we can take, I had a crap night sleep last night because my throat was so sore and nose running, night nurse would've knocked me out in a second if I could take it! I've got such a busy weekend too as my best friend is visiting from Italy, typical. Means I can't call in sick today like I would've as there's pics of me on FB at our baby shower last night and I'll be going for afternoon tea tomorrow.

AliceRR I have "tiny little ear canals" too apparently! Have had my ears syringes a couple of times, olive oil ear drops work really well too though.

Alicejj8x · 02/11/2018 07:24

I have a well earned day off today so thought ahh I can have a nice little lie in..

Nope baby girl has other ideas
5.30 wake up .. with some sort of break dancing lessons going on in there. The movement is mental this morning 😂😂😂

Alicejj8x · 02/11/2018 07:26

@AliceRR
I posted on here a few weeks ago now about a really bad blocked ear. I was in so much pain. Went to the doc they prescribed ear calm ( you can get it from boots) but the lady said she would prescribe me it so I didn't need to pay :) it worked a treat cannot recommend enough x

AliceRR · 02/11/2018 07:45

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I’m grtting something like that - like being kicked in the vagina 😂

@Lookingforadvice123 Thanks. I have never had an earwax problem before but hsve had so much earwax since about 6 w!

@Alicejj8x Is that to unblock or fir the pain? I’ve got olive oil and actually go have me some antibiotic ear drops about 6 weeks ago but I didn’t take it as wasn’t convinced it was ok to use and was and was t prepared to take the risk when I didn’t even have pain.

I’ve booked in fit syringing next week, which I haven’t had before. Had microsuction st Specsavers last time. It cost about £70 for both ears and was so worth it (I highly recommend it) especially as my ear got v blocked and had been bothering me for a while but if they’re going to need found regularly than I’d rather not keep paying that!

Alicejj8x · 02/11/2018 07:47

@AliceRR
It's for both and it honestly worked so fast I couldn't believe it. I was worried if I can take it but doc said it's perfectly safe and that's one of the few ear drops which are safe as something to do with the acid x

Lulabell1 · 02/11/2018 10:41

@hayley013 iv felt the hiccups too! Little pattern of jolts so sweet!

Since2016 · 02/11/2018 16:30

I’ve had an ill toddler all week (asthma) which has meant broken sleep and regularly up throughout the night to give her her inhaler. We’ve both had a 2 1/2 hour sofa nap together. Thank heaven for naps. She rarely naps but I’m exhausted this week! Even without being pregnant!!

Yakadee · 02/11/2018 17:35

@Since2016 - my son has asthma too - this time of year is a nightmare! I feel for you x

powkin · 02/11/2018 17:45

Another cold here, could have done without it after only just getting over shingles!

Been out in the sunshine and fresh air today really helped, I hate the stuffiness in my office. My colleague refuses to wear a jumper so wants the window closed all the time but I NEED fresh air!

Couldn’t resist buying a little cat dress for next summer in the John Lewis sale. It was far too cute.

In other good news I had a few days of ravenous sugar cravings and they seem to have calmed down. I was starting to feel really down about filling my face with chocolate and having no self control!

hayley013 · 02/11/2018 17:56

I'm only drinking hot water and lemon to avoid all the colds and bugs going round at the moment, cleaned the house this morning ready for a viewing and now can barely walk. Defo gonna get a cleaner once in the new house, rather pay than have this pain 😫

hayley013 · 02/11/2018 17:57

@powkin I've got a mega sweet tooth at the moment too. Making some healthy dinner tonight in a bid to be too full to hit dd's Halloween treats 😂

powkin · 02/11/2018 18:19

@hayley013 - I stupidly just looked at an evil pregnancy weight gain chart that says I’ve put on 2kg “too much” Sad I’m partly blaming the shingles as I’ve not been up to my usual walking and swimming, but know my eating has definitely been a bit out of control.

AliceRR · 02/11/2018 18:54

@powkin try not to worry. Everyone is different and 2kg isn’t much! I haven’t even weighed myself in weeks / months
