@emalady yes it is. My brother swears by it and used it for all of his children just for peace of mind.

lanalawr · 29/10/2018 07:03

I haven't used cybex but you don't have to have a SC car seat @AliceRR (we used a maxi cosi pebble plus with ours and it was easy with the adapters).

bubblybrit · 29/10/2018 08:08

Thank you @twiglet. Had to call in sick today as zero sleep last night! Will try your exercise and fingers crossed it eases a little bit. Do you think it’s ok to use a hot water bottle?

AliceRR · 29/10/2018 08:11

Thanks @lanalawr yes I believe maxi cosi does fit so we’d go for that if the cybex won’t fit. It’s just annoying we can’t get a definitive answer as we like the cybex one and found a good deal at an outlet yesterday (£350 for the newborn car seat, 0-4 car seat and a base to fit both).

I’m worrying about movement again today

Had a stomach aching last night but felt like wind or something and had what felt like a bit of sharp pain low ish down but could also have been wind and not for v long. Baby was moving around yesterday but haven’t felt her moving yet today.

Just waiting for her morning kicks! Sometimes she starts when I’m on the train or when I eat something rather than first thing (I’m in the train now) so hopefully she gets going soon.

I’m trying not to get stressed every time I don’t feel her move in the morning as she doesn’t always kick around first thing anyway 🙄

twiglet · 29/10/2018 08:22

@bubblybrit yes it's safe to use a hot water bottle but don't use boiling water and don't lie on it.

bubblybrit · 29/10/2018 08:26

Great @twiglet. My DH is working from home today so on his way to make me one!

Yakadee · 29/10/2018 09:10

@AliceRR - I totally get it. I ended up at maternity assessment on Fri evening as I was so worried and there she was, wriggling and heart beating away! How far are you? The mw at hospital told me it can happen and really common before 28 weeks but if really worried, always go in xx

I'm at my glucose test appointment - just had bloods and that drink, it wasn't as bad as I thought but wouldn't want to drink it again. Now to wait 2 hours xx

AliceRR · 29/10/2018 09:38

@Yakadee

It’s really worrying but it has happened before where I haven’t felt her move til mid morning so trying not to panic every time! I have felt her move around a bit since then so will see how it goes

I’m 25 weeks now

Glad the test wasn’t too bad and hope you have something to keep you occupied while you are there! Mine is next week

Yakadee · 29/10/2018 09:51

@AliceRR - you know what to do if you're still worried. I'm sure baby is just tucked away somewhere or sleeping xx

AliceRR · 29/10/2018 10:00

@Yakadee Yes I think everything is probably ok. The thing is I don’t know what’s normal still. I am starting to notice a pattern of course but some days the movements do feel stronger than others. I have been feeling her move now so feel a bit better.

Yakadee · 29/10/2018 10:09

@AliceRR - ah that's good, net you're relieved! Little monkey was just hiding!

One hour down - one to go! Roll on sandwich time! X

AliceRR · 29/10/2018 10:33

@Yakadee Yes I do feel better thanks. This morning she was quiet as a lamb!!

Forgot you can’t eat either, you must be hungry!

Yakadee · 29/10/2018 10:38

I'm not too bad actually, I thought I'd feel sick by now. Think this the longest I've not eaten lol. I'm watching a film so it's not too bad. 30 mins to go! X

hayley013 · 29/10/2018 11:44

It's such a worry when they don't move for a while, my midwife also said look for a pattern from about now (24) to 28 weeks.

My back is absolutely killing me, especially when I lie down. I'm waking through the night for around 2 hours, just cannot fall back to sleep straight away, so tired.

lanalawr · 29/10/2018 12:23

It looks like maxi cosi and cybex use the same adaptors so it should be ok. Is there a shop near you that stocks both so you could test it out?

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/10/2018 12:36

We have the Angelcare sensor monitor and it's brill, I'd highly recommend. We didn't get a single false alarm until DS was bigger and able to roll off the place where the sensor pad was (so technically wasn't a false alarm as he had moved off it!) and I found it v reassuring. Not sure how it would work in a next to me style crib as DS was only ever in a Moses basket then straight into a cot.

AliceRR don't get too hung up on the "pattern" thing for movements. There was never a pattern for DS, it was different all the time. Obviously always be checked if you're worried, but I think the "pattern" advice is misleading as babies will move at different times of day throughout your pregnancy.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 29/10/2018 12:48

@Lookingforadvice123 I agree that the word pattern is misleading.

DD was never the same each day, but the frequency was similar (more big bursts than lots of smaller ones)

It's just about what's normal for your baby but always get checked if worries. The staff would rather you were both fine than you don't go in

Baby160P · 29/10/2018 14:47

@twiglet I have rib pain every now and then. I see a osteopath every other week because of a car accident in August and he always says it's popped out and pops it back in, could be crash or baby related but boy does it ease pain! If you're stuck I'd recommend a osteopath.

Baby160P · 29/10/2018 15:12

Am I being blonde. App says baby is 34.6cm..... and the size of a corn on the cob.... where in earth are we finding this size corn on the cob because I want some!?!?

AliceRR · 29/10/2018 15:47

@Lookingforadvice123 @Thesnonbymiddleclassone @hayley013

Thanks that’s reassuring. It’s difficult with your first as you don’t know what’s normal really. I worry every time I have felt movement for a few hours. I am seeing midwife on Thursday morning so will see what she says (assuming I don’t have a panic before then and call the midwives)

Baby is moving but feeling it infrequently

When I called midwife about it a week or two ago she said baby is growing so may move less now than it did a few weeks ago and still establishing a pattern

emalady · 29/10/2018 15:57

@baby160p, that sounds good! Maybe if you get a whole corn from somewhere but still not generally a foot long. That sounds really big for still having a lot of growing to do! 🌽

AliceRR · 29/10/2018 15:58

I might also try to see the go when to the surgery on Thursday as I seem to have a cherry cough. It’s fine and I can live with it but never sure what I should be worrying about with regards to baby / pregnancy

lanalawr · 29/10/2018 16:12

😂 @Baby160P I often wonder that. This week my baby is an entire chocolate cake, a rabbit or a papaya. I'd be very disappointed if my chocolate cake was the size of a papaya!

fizzledays · 29/10/2018 16:46

Ooooof the whooping cough vaccine STINGS!

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/10/2018 17:03

AliceRR it's understandable with your first, i was so worried all the time. I hope it's reassuring though as I wouldn't want anyone to be as anxious as I was xx
