@lulabell1 roughly the top of your public bone to the top of your womb in cm should be roughly the same as weeks. You should be able to feel a ridge where your womb stops but it can be tricky to feel on your own.

emalady · 21/10/2018 21:02

I've gained weight all over and think I just look fat rather than pregnant. Depends a bit on clothing too though. I look much more pregnant in my dungarees than anything else.

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/10/2018 21:58

Ugh people always have something to say. I'm much bigger this time round, I'm 22+4 and I only started to look pregnant with DS at about 22 weeks whereas I've looked pregnant for ages! Even well meaning people in work have said the wrong thing. I feel huge but I'm taking weekly bumpiest and I don't actually look loads bigger now compared to how I look at 18 weeks! I think I just popped early so I'm still ahead, hoping it evens out.

I do think it depends on your figure too. I'm fairly slim when not pregnant with small boobs, and my bump is much less noticeable than a friend who's at the same stage with her second, who has a wider frame and huge boobs. Her boobs are still bigger than her bump!

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/10/2018 22:00

Notquiteagandt sorry you're still struggling with your HG, that sucks. If it's any comfort, my SIL had HG at over 20 weeks but it did clear, and she ended up with an ENORMOUS bump!!! And an almost 9lb baby.

AliceRR · 21/10/2018 22:01

@Lookingforadvice123 See I’m similar in that I’m usually slim (about a size 8) although have reasonable boobs! But so far I have only put weight on my bump that I can see so I think I look “more” pregnant than if I was generally a bit bigger. Everyone is different! If I’m wearing something fitted I’m all bump!

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/10/2018 22:04

AliceRR my post is meant to say my bump is much MORE noticeable 🤦🏼‍♀️ honestly I swear baby brain is even worse second time round. So yes I'm basically saying if you're a bigger frame generally, you often look less pregnant that people who are slimmer pre-pregnancy. I was on a course with a colleague who's due 4 weeks before me this week, she's short but quite a big girl, and I looked way more pregnant than her.

AliceRR · 21/10/2018 22:13

@Lookingforadvice123 🙂

Agree @looking although my boobs have grown again... with DD I went from an A to an F by 20 weeks... this time I was a C still so not quite such a jump and my feeding bras are still too big.

I’m also tall and my bump is very forward and low this time - lots of bladder kicks.

And yes - going to have to take v deep breaths for this friend this week! And also maybe remind her fifteen times that this is my second baby!!!

You say about size but I'm usually a 16 and seem to have lost weight all around but have a big bump at the front 💙

Love my bump and said to my OH last night I think I'll really miss being pregnant when he is here.... his response.... better get you pregnant again then 😂🙈

moonlight1705 · 22/10/2018 08:34

Interesting about size, I'm frankly quite big....a size 20/22 but now the bump is obvious rather than looking just more fat.

However a slimmer friend looked really pregnant at the same week as me.

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/10/2018 09:25

Since2016 my friends are doing a surprise baby shower for my BFF who's visiting next week (she lives away) and they've insisted on making it a joint one for me as we're due 3 days apart. I just know her bump is going to be half the size of mine (first baby! And although she's a slim girl, she's taller with wider hips so I think she'll always carry it better) so I'm bracing myself for the comments too.

Since2016 · 22/10/2018 09:50

Will be thinking of you @lookingforadvice123 my own comparisons don’t help I’m sure (internal ones!)

since2016 I'm really hoping it'll even out. A colleague who's pregnant with her second was absolutely massive so early, bless her. She looked 30 weeks at 20 weeks. But when I saw her a few weeks ago at 30 weeks, she looked 30 weeks.

hayley013 · 22/10/2018 10:02

I felt really big at first, but now as much as I feel like my bumps growing, it doesn't feel as prominent as it did 2/3 weeks ago, strange, though I could just be gaining everywhere else now too. I still look further ahead than I did with dd at this stage but not as sticky out haha x

Since2016 · 22/10/2018 10:17

I think this is it - my bump is almost pointy! Not huge amounts of weight gain elsewhere thank god. People keep saying I’m all (massive) bump but I can see the gain. It’s just so far forward rather than all round!

Baby160P · 22/10/2018 10:56

@hayley013 I have moments like that too but wonder if ta baby changing position that does it? I'm back to big bump again!

emalady · 22/10/2018 11:05

Bloody hormones, why is it so much harder when trying to get things sorted. Trying to cancel a PPI type thing, passed around to 7 people then told its in DHs name so he has to cancel it and now I'm in tears. 😭 Definitely could normally cope with this, albeit frustrated. Grr. Please say I'm not the only one!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/10/2018 11:08

emalady I'm with you, the silliest things set me off at the moment xx

Baby160P · 22/10/2018 14:27

Tummy feels like it's really tight today and aching 😩

Great day to take x5 kids to the zoo.

Alicejj8x · 22/10/2018 16:02

@Baby160P oh I feel for you hun :(

Yakadee · 22/10/2018 16:04

@Baby160P - I'm feeling like that lately. My back has really started hurting now as the day goes on. I'm fine at home but work is getting uncomfortable x

Baby160P · 22/10/2018 16:54

Its generally quite painful today like I have done a massive abs workout 😩

bubblybrit · 22/10/2018 17:56

I’m really sore today as well. Currently at a work event and have been seated all day. My back is killing me! Currently relaxing in my room before the evening session begins. I just want my bed Sad!!

1stTimeTina · 22/10/2018 18:09

I feel you all on the pain front, mine was so bad at the weekend but I found a gentle walk eased it off, lying down seemed to make it worse! I was having like 2/3 baths a day, not fun!

Surprisedmom · 22/10/2018 18:32

@Baby160P I also feel very much like my bump is tight/stretching today. I tend to find I have a few days like that each week, but I figure it’s just my bump growing.

@bubblybrit back pain is awful, I got a back support for in the car which I think helps and I am a big fan of a walk/hot water bottle on my back too.
