@costacoffeecup I'm the opposite 🙈

I was In Hospital before I was pregnant as my intestines weren't functioning. Discharged whilst pregnant and more regular than ever

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 20/10/2018 17:21

Just got home from the baby show in London! SHATTERED!

Managed to stock the baby's wash bag and start on the nappy bag though. Also bought a grey holder/organiser for the pram which I'd have loved with DD.

If you can get to something similar, definitely recommend it.

emalady · 20/10/2018 17:48

@costacoffeecup have you got yourself any lactulose? Safe in pregnancy and works pretty well. I got some when I was first pregnant as I thought I would need it but not yet.
Thanks for the info @suprisedmom. The nappies look really good. Very excited about trying them.

maxiflump1 · 20/10/2018 18:00

@costacoffeecup I've had chronic constipation in both my pregnancies. I could go 5 or 6 days without any movement. I swear by laxido and have a sachet in a glass of water every evening and it stops it getting too bad. Has to be prescribed by GP.

I’m having prune juice daily - defintely notice the difference when I forget! I had awful constipation in the first trimester it was hideous.

Think mine is scheduled for January sometime..? Wasn’t going to have one (they make me cringe 😬 ) but my mates are badgering me 😂

I’ve told them that as long as I’m not involved in the arranging, I’ll turn up.. 👌🏼

Lulabell1 · 20/10/2018 22:43

Surprisedmom · 20/10/2018 23:16

@Lulabell1 it does indeed suddenly hit you that you’re really having a baby. Glad you had a good baby shower.

I had a real moment this morning where I realised this week was the first time I got to tell people I was having a baby positively. That sounds awful but with all the upset at the beginning of my pregnancy I told most people in tears and combined with the news of how horrible the father was being. It felt really nice to just have my boss respond with ‘congratulations!’ and I had some old work colleagues get in touch this week who I also told and who were thrilled for me.

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/10/2018 08:21

Just seen the Mothercare sale! DH was going to go to the parent even to get 10% off on Thursday, but the sale is better on some items.

Would be interested in Chicco next to me Vs Snuzpod views? I was going to get the snuzpod because apparently it comes higher, but I think our mattress might still be too high anyway. The Chicco is down to £150 in Mothercare today!

Yakadee · 21/10/2018 09:13

25 weeks today - feels like a big milestone! Well and truly on my way towards the 3rd tri - seems to be going really fast now.
Xx

twiglet · 21/10/2018 09:21

@Lookingforadvice123 the chico max bed height is 53cm Snuzpod 3 (not v2) max height is 63cm.

Notquiteagandt · 21/10/2018 09:40

@Lookingforadvice123

The matress on snuzpod is natural meaning it helps to regulate temperture with in crib. No hot pockets and no dips.

Being natural means its naturally fire retardant upto legal levels so doesnt need to be treated with chemicals the same as foam matresses.

Snuzpod the way it folds down and you can remove the bascinate is a bonus. As well as the sides being removable means no where to get baby caught.

Also the cotton is organic so again no nastys sprayed on it.

Im a huge fan of little green sheep who own snuz brand. British company too so their after sales are amaizing.

Can you tell this is my job 😂

So theres the snuzpod sales pitch. Im a huge fan of if. Im getting one myself.

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/10/2018 10:28

Oh cool thanks both! Will wait to get 10% off the snuzpod then

AliceRR · 21/10/2018 11:00

I want a snuzpod too so will let you know if I see any good deals!

I’m still hoping there might be some good deals on Black Friday

AliceRR · 21/10/2018 11:07

I am being so dim but I’m 24 weeks today so what is that in months? I thought counting back from due date (10 Feb) which would be 9 months abouut second week in November but that’s not right is it 🤔

Can I blame preg brain for not being able to do pregnancy math??

AliceRR · 21/10/2018 11:10

So counting from period which was 7 May I think that’s right - I am 5 months now and would be 6 months at 26 or 27 weeks

Not sure why I’m suddenly obsessing about this. I just read something about how people count differently either 6 months in or “the sixth month”...

maxiflump1 · 21/10/2018 11:35

@AliceRR you are 5 and a half months pregnant but in your sixth month of pregnancy. It's like when your baby is 6 months old it's not a year old but it's in its first year. That make sense??

AliceRR · 21/10/2018 11:39

@maxiflump1 Yes it does and that’s what I thought! But was reading something where someone was saying that she’d class her self six months pregnant at 24 weeks... Thanks!

emalady · 21/10/2018 11:55

We got an old fashioned crib, I had wanted one which attached to the bed but ended up with the crib as part of a cheap set. Not sure how easy it will be to cope with or if we will still end up with a next to me /snuzpod as well.

emalady · 21/10/2018 11:58

The whole weeks/ months thing is very strange, seems in pregnancy and speaking to doctors etc weeks is the only thing that matters but other people keep asking how pregnant in months. I tend to just go with due in February.

Notquiteagandt · 21/10/2018 12:01

I have been going off this as im more of a visual person.

February 2019 babies - onwards and almost the third trimester!
welshweasel · 21/10/2018 12:01

We had a snuzpod last time and have a next to me this time that a friend has kindly given us. I loved the snuzpod but it’s quite a lot smaller than the next to me and lots of babies grow out of it before 6 months (we made 7 months (just) with a small baby. The snuzpod looks much nicer, the next to me is easier to take away with you as it folds flat.

Celebelly · 21/10/2018 12:05

We've gone for a Next2Me over Snuzpod as latter doesn't seem to be compatible with our bed, whereas Next2Me is. Thanks for the tip about to being on sale in Mothercare, I've just bought it!

Celebelly · 21/10/2018 12:16

I really liked the idea of the detachable bassinet on Snuzpod, but when we actually tried it in the shop it was quite heavy and unwieldy and I couldn't imagine trying to carry it down the stairs with a baby inside easily, so we're just going to have a travel cot downstairs I think and use the Moses basket in the early weeks. I think it will take some trial and error to see what suits us best in those first few weeks, but god bless the internet where you can have stuff delivered next day!
