@nightmanagerfan are you over 14 weeks? If so you can call your maternity unit at the hospital, that the case in my LA anyway, they're 24/7 and should be able to advise on next steps and hopefully put your mind at ease?

Nightmanagerfan · 04/09/2018 20:49

@murphyrocks I’m 11+4 - I’ve seen the booking in midwife only. They did give me a number to call (office hours) but maybe calling my GP first thing is the best option.

Murphyrocks · 04/09/2018 20:51

@nightmanagerfan sure, just thought speaking to someone tonight if feasible might put your mind at ease. Do make sure you push to see someone tomorrow though, your poor body's been through a bit the last few days.

Gronk27 · 04/09/2018 20:52

@nightmanagerfan UTIs can make you sicky :( get some antibiotics tomorrow lovely.

@squirtlesmumagain I had a visit at home, then an appointment for bloods, then the 12 week scan (as well as the blood test for down's etc, height and weight and CO2 and random forms to fill in) I think everywhere is different? Although the midwives kept asking me have you had this? I was thinking why don't you know :/They've also gone digital in my area so it's all on an app (which is great) but it's brand new and the midwives seem to be struggling with it.

@villagefete my midwife told me to go to my doctor to get my exemption thingy as before you could just show your notes apparently but we don't get notes any more!

Has anyone got a cat? Mine is being very strange. I think my pheromones?

TheWanderlust · 04/09/2018 21:04

@Gronk27 not a cat but 2 dogs... one has become super cuddly and the other just won't settle in the evenings. I'm sure they know something is changing.

@SquirtlesMumAgain @Angelmiracle I will be shared care too at the moment, although wondering if that may change as time goes on. Our birthing centre is located within the hospital grounds so have the option unless risks go up to a dangerous level.

Nightmanagerfan · 04/09/2018 21:05

@murphyrocks - it was a great suggestion but I don’t have a 24 hr number. Don’t understand why I’m so worried - pregnancy has had me worrying about so many things that I wouldn’t have batted an eyelid about before. My DH just made the eminently sensible decision to call my sis, who is a GP, (cant think why I didn’t think of it myself), so will do that now and see what she says. Definitely need antibiotics by tomorrow though. Luckily my exemption certificate arrived in today’s post!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 04/09/2018 21:17

@TheWanderlust I was under a consultant for my bmi last time and was signed off, but thankfully it was those scans that picked up DS was small for dates.
As he was under 5lb at full term I will remain under the consultant with extra scans it is expected unless this one miraculously grows a lot!

Murphyrocks · 04/09/2018 21:22

@nightmanagerfan ah excellent, even better than a maternity unit, and off for antibiotics tomorrow. Hope your sis can reassure you and you get a good night's rest. After 14 weeks you should get a 24 hour number and you can contact them about pretty much anything medical. Really helpful for easing anxiety!

Gronk27 · 04/09/2018 21:31

@thewonderlust it's so strange, she's all over me but also unsettled. Won't go near my DH. And keeps trying to bite my hand-which is a weird cat sign of affection but quite intense! They just know don't they. I don't know what's going to happen when the baby is here!

@murphyrocks I hope your sister reassures you.

Nightmanagerfan · 04/09/2018 21:55

Thanks @murphyrocks - sis talked me down but basically said just to turn up at GP first thing with a urine sample and say the words: “pregnant and fever” and they will definitely see me. She said they worry more later on in pregnancy but that any UTI needs treating asap and that in pregnancy you need a test at the end to confirm the infection has gone. I feel less worried now and am off to bed. Night all

Sictransitgloria · 04/09/2018 22:00

@nightmanagerfan if it reassures you a little, weeing is a good sign. Not weeing is more worrying. I really hope you feel better soon!

Just checking in. 10w5d, had booking in last week with midwife. All very standard although she didn’t weigh me and I think that is where my issue will be as I have a high bmi. Trying not to stress too much about that. No scan date as of yet. My local hospital struggles to accomodate for all the women in the area due to cuts to another maternity unit, so the hospital is full to bursting. I don’t expect a scan til about 13 weeks or so. Trying to be calm, had a few panicky wobbles about having another mc. I don’t intend on telling work for another few weeks but finding work extremely tough, esp as I work with families for a living. Hope the nausea and fatigue fade away a bit soon!

Angelmiracle · 04/09/2018 22:21

@Squirtlesmumagain great scan pic lovely baby shape Grin I was hoping for the same but still a little bean-ish 😂 it's good that they actually take notice of last time around and keeping an eye on us!

@ladycarlotta thank you! It is so reassuring 😊

@Gronk27 @HidCat @Murphyrocks @Wineandchoccy thank you! Definitely comfy and not keen to give us a stretch 😀

@Villagefete thanks! So good to finally have a scan. They said shared care due to BMI at 38 and 'obstructed labour' last time with PPH. Midwife also picked up a 2cm cyst on my ovary so that explains the ovary pain I was having. She said consultant would monitor it.

@TheWanderlust my cousin had a baby boy on Friday in the birthing centre of her hospital. He took an infection and needed antibiotics so was moved across to the maternity ward of the hospital as they don't administer antibiotics in birthing centre. She was glad of that!

Shared care is making me feel calmer!

Checking in! Weird dreams a plenty here.

Wineandchoccy · 05/09/2018 02:33

I can’t sleep I have needed a wee about 326 times and am hungry Blush
I’m googling baby names for inspiration.

TheWanderlust · 05/09/2018 03:55

@Wineandchoccy I've been up since 3,, also now feeling hungry Blush hope you're feeling inspired!

lemonsorbetinthesun · 05/09/2018 04:06

I'm hungry and I can't sleep. I've got bad trapped wind which wakes me up Angry

HidCat · 05/09/2018 07:09

@Nightmanagerfan I'm glad you're getting advice / treatment. Don't take a chance.

@lemonsorbetinthesun that's good that you've avoided another bout of hg. Hope it stays that way!

@SquirtlesMumAgain I bet you end up with a 10lber this time after all the concerns lol.

So many people waking up at night. I woke up around 3 for an hour but stayed in bed - I'd dreamt the roof was blown off our house and water was pouring through the ceiling 😮

Angelmiracle · 05/09/2018 07:47

@Villagefete as far as I know Movical and Lactulose are both safe to take for constipation.

@lemonsorbetinthesun welcome. What is your EDD and I can add you to our list Grin

Hi everyone, sorry for lack of responses on my part. I mostly read on my phone whilst on the commute and my phone doesn't seem to want to post messages. I've written so many replies over the weeks which just haven't posted!! Thank you so much to everyone who replied reg my husband. Made me feel so much better!!

Can't sleep either and am exhausted all of the time. Also been getting odd dreams. I take meds for my epilepsy (so already get free prescriptions) and the symptoms I get with that just seem to have intensified rather than anything new.

(This probs won't post...)

cardboard33 · 05/09/2018 08:42

Ooh it has!! In my haste, I also forgot to say it's so lovely everyone has had positive scans (although also thinking of those who haven't posted as they didnt...) - hope mine is the same :)

Nightmanagerfan · 05/09/2018 09:58

Saw GP this am - no infection, she thinks I’m just exhausted from the sickness. I wonder if I’m also really anxious about this pregnancy as the scan approaches (Monday). In our last pregnancy we had bad news at the scan and lost the baby. Although I know that’s unlikely to happen twice I am still finding it emotionally quite difficult.

VillageFete · 05/09/2018 10:10

@Nightmanagerfan I am sure you are understandably anxious. Please update us after scan. Pleased you don’t have an infection.

Ladies, do you think I should worry? I normally wake up in the middle of the night desperate for a wee, last night I didn’t? I also wake in the morning around 7am and am desperate for a wee but again I didn’t? I woke at 6.3am and had a wee but wasn’t the same usual urgency? It seems to have stopped quite abruptly. I know it’s probably a ridiculous thing to worry about, but with my history everything panics me.

ladycarlotta · 05/09/2018 10:27

@VillageFete the vagaries of pregnancy are weird. Perhaps your uterus has moved a bit, or you suddenly need to be more hydrated or... who even knows. I definitely had a phase of waking in the small hours, say 3-5am, and badly needing to pee, but at the moment I don't any more. The new thing is that my stomach is quite unsettled first thing in the morning.

I think it's almost definitely OK, and just one of those things of moving from one phase to another. I can understand why you are nervous though, we do start to take our symptoms as reassurance however unwelcome they are.

Angelmiracle · 05/09/2018 10:31

@VillageFete I wouldn't worry too much but would definitely advise to up your water/liquid intake today to make sure you don't become dehydrated. And more water even hot water with lemon could help with your constipation too.
