Thanks for keeping us all in check @Angelmiracle

Anyone else finding the insomnia is kicking back in full force. Up at 4.30 for the last few days 😴 have had some really vivid dreams this week too which has been entertaining πŸ’

MistakenHoliday · 03/09/2018 06:40

Checking in! Back to work for me this morning but have also got insomnia so have been awake on and off since 2am. Getting ready for those night feeds!

Jenfur · 03/09/2018 06:43

Thanks for the new thread.
I seem to be waking during the night most nights and struggling to get back to sleep but I seem to be dead to the world when the alarm goes off. As for the dreams, last night I dreamt that my brother jabbed me in the stomach with a hairbrush (playfully? Supposedly) and immediately there was blood all over the floor so that was pretty awful Confused

WhatALearningCurve · 03/09/2018 07:06

I've been sleeping really badly and having incredibly vivid dreams. The other night I woke at 4:30 and was actually too creeped out to go back to sleep after he dreams I'd had! Last nights involved a girl I know giving birth to twins, whilst my "partner" (not my real one) was on stage at a concert (apparently part of a boy band) and then we drove past a plane (think 747) where all the passengers were parachuting out over a dual carriage way. So very very odd

toastfiend · 03/09/2018 07:24

Thanks @Angelmiracle!

Witg regards to dreams I've been having some pretty Vic D dreams too and, bizarrely, the night terrors I used to have as a child are back. I woke up a few weeks back standing on the bed screaming "Fuuuuuuuuuck!!β€œ and took ages to go back to sleep I was so freaked out. Then the other day I almost gave DH a heart attack when I dreamed there were maggots in the bed and leapt out of bed shouting and flung the duvet off him. Confused It doesn't make for a terribly restful night really!

Wineandchoccy · 03/09/2018 07:26

Thanks for the new thread, 5th one already!

Insomnia has kicked in here as well zzzzzzzz

Gronk27 · 03/09/2018 07:31

Checking in. I don't often remember dreams but sleeping well and lie ins are already things of the past it seems!

Velcro88 · 03/09/2018 07:54

Thanks @Angelmiracle, checking in.

TheWanderlust · 03/09/2018 08:01

Sorry it's not just me ladies! I thought that it was just me and it had been anxiety related but maybe not??

Hope everyone has a good week. I'm starting my day with contract negotiations... I have been offered an internal transfer to a (very) family friendly role. My new team want me to start on 01/10 but current department want me to work until 26/10 before I transfer. Hoping that they meet in the middle somewhere. Hmm

thefirsttimer · 03/09/2018 08:13

Thanks for the new thread @Angelmiracle just checking in οΏΌ.

Same here with the insomnia @TheWanderlust I can't seem to sleep past 5am, and that's on top of waking up at least a few times beforehand. I'm telling myself my body's preparing for those early newborn days!

Just a heads up on the topic of maternity clothes; I'm now living in a pair of H&M maternity jeggings. They are so comfy I want to wear them every day! Over bump part is still a tad big, but I figure I can grow into it. Also got a few bits from Next which have been a hit so far!

Gronk27 · 03/09/2018 08:14

I've got a stye or a chalazion. How random! Only two days until the magical 2nd trimester begins. Have a good day ladies!

HidCat · 03/09/2018 08:15

Thanks for the new thread @Angelmiracle.

Very glad to not be having the crazy pg dreams after reading this today. Yikes!

@TheWanderlust congratulations! Family friendly always makes life so much easier. It's one of the reasons I've put up with so much from my employer over the years. Though things are not too bad these days.

Murphyrocks · 03/09/2018 08:15

Checking in! Sorry to hear about sleep troubles - I'm not sleeping brilliantly but definitely better than I was last time - I think better mattress and better maternity pillow are in the difference as I'm not waking up uncomfortable from lying in one position on my side like I was last time!

AceyMac13 · 03/09/2018 09:06

Checking in - thanks for the new thread :)
Still exhausted and nauseaous and having hella weird dreams every night!
Getting stressed now, I’ll be 11 weeks on Thursday and I have self referred 4 times to the midwife and haven’t heard a think about booking appointment or 12 week scan! Feel like I’ve slipped through the net. No matter how many times I contact her she never gets back to me, it’s so frustrating!

TheWanderlust · 03/09/2018 09:18

Thankyou @HidCat I work for a local authority. But it really seems to vary between departments. They've already said they only expect to see me in the office 3 days a week and any remaining hours can be worked from home... I'm really looking forward to less traveling already

NatashaRomanov · 03/09/2018 09:20

Thanks @Angelmiracle

Just checking in. According to last week's scan, I am 11 weeks now. Dating scan next Wednesday, can't wait!
Feeling fat, tired and sicky again. Got our 6-monthly tenancy inspection this afternoon, and I have a blood pressure check after. What a mistake, booking them on the same day!
And I started a job in a school a month or so before the summer holidays started, now I have to figure out how to tell the headteacher! Shock

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 03/09/2018 09:20

Just checking in.
Thanks all for the bra recommendations!
@WhatALearningCurve I'm with you on the dreams! I had a dream last night that I went to a theme park in New York and everyone got attacked by a giant alien snake and then the aliens forced me to saw a horses jaw off.... I have no words....

ballanj · 03/09/2018 09:26

Morning ladies, thanks @TheWanderlust for the new thread. I'm having one of those days where I can't face schlepping into the office. Had a busy weekend and my energy levels have taken a dip and just feel so tired. Had some ligament pain and back ache too. Pretty certain my OH thinks I'm wimping out deciding not to go to work but I've been quite honest with my boss and said it's been a rough night and I'm not feeling great so taking the day. I can't do more than that really. Think it's also a culmination of having to put on a front the last couple of months and my body has now gone 'ahhhhhhhhh' now that everyone knows. How are the rest of us ladies who are around the 12-13 week mark. I'm waiting to start feeling a little like my old self again.

SDP84 · 03/09/2018 09:51

Hi ladies just checking in.

I've been struggling with sleep so much this time around. I seem to wake up so much throughout the night and really struggle to get back to sleep. Some nights I also have very weird dreams but that's only happened a few times.

I'm 14+3 now according to the dates from my scan but I'm feeling very anxious (what's new!) as I have virtually zero symptoms now. My boobs don't even hurt anymore and the exhaustion is definitely much improved.
I'm trying not to make an issue out of it and be positive but I've found myself worried when I go to the toilet that I'm going to find blood πŸ˜₯

Wineandchoccy · 03/09/2018 10:01

@SDP84 it’s quite normal after 12 weeks for symptoms to go away but I know it doesn’t help you relax.
I’m 15 + 1 and apart from being a bit tired all my other symptoms have gone.

Jenlou1992 · 03/09/2018 10:14

I am with everyone on the insomnia . Last week I literally didn't sleep . Only slept around 4/5am and up at 6am for work . Same last night . Constantly needing a wee and just not able to fall asleep till 5 . I've been fine until last week . Hope it doesn't last . I do 12hr shifts so it's not the best situation

ladycarlotta · 03/09/2018 10:52

@AceyMac13 how stressful! I hope they get in touch with you soon - do you have to self-refer (I did), or is it something your GP might be able to intervene in? My local midwife team have had funding cuts and now have no admin staff, so getting in touch with them is a nightmare.

Sorry to all you guys suffering insomnia. It's definitely not a problem I have - I'm EXHAUSTED and can conk out anywhere. We went out for breakfast yesterday morning and then drove to do the big supermarket shop, and that destroyed me for the day. I napped for two hours and was back in bed at 9.30pm. I feel so pathetic. And the nausea is definitely still sticking around.
