Scoot, my rice pudding tins don't face forward. I was frightened she'd check. [neurotic]

cameroonmama, we've been househunting for 6 months or more. Got to a week before completion on a house we loved and the numpty vendor pulled out, added £40k to the asking price and put it back on the market. I'll buy your house from you (I can offer you a large tub of apple sweets and £1.65). Scoot said she'd sell me hers but she went and sold it to somebody who could offer more than loose change and gingerbread.

TYG, sit the feck down woman.

Tam, I must email you and rave about those CDs.

Juicylucytoo · 18/04/2007 12:35

Take it easy Tam and TYG. Try and enjoy your last few weeks before the "fun" begins. TYG - you need to rest that foot. Tam you

Must admit I made a half arsed attempt at cleaning the bathroom last night, but my heart just wasn't in it It will have to wait for DH to do it next week.

Have my home visit on the 1st May. My boss would like me to re-arrange it to suit him, so I've just told him I can't. 2 weeks later I'll be on maternity leave anyway, so what possible difference could that one day make. Ar*e...

Which of you girlies are coming to our next London meet on the 30th?? At the moment I have 6 names. Who else fancies it?? Where are Lilkel and JellyBelly these days?

Juicylucytoo · 18/04/2007 12:36

I'll try that again

Tam - you need to rest!! DELIGATE. Whoever is taking over from you has to be able to do your job - so let them start now!!

largeginandtonic · 18/04/2007 12:39

Afternoon all

Have been to toddlers and walked too much, shooting sciatica pains down my bum, ouch! Lovely to be out though.

PMSL at SOH and Summerfruit worrying about 'inspection' of house from midwife. In the run up i clean incessantly and bake on a daily basis so the midwives have cake to eat and a clean house. The bathroom was a major clean up operation everyday!!!

TYG stop cleaning fgs, just sit down and leave the duster and hoover out, my mother could never resist

Am off to eat egg sarnies and put my feet up....HA! Hugs is not looking very sleepy though.

cameroonmama · 18/04/2007 12:47

SOH, best offer we have had yet, thanks, if I can up it to £1.95 and a tub of jelly babies instead of apple sweets then we might have a deal.

I should think you would feel at home here, what with all our tractors, i can throw in a bit of flooding down on the levels too, to make up for your waterways...

Can't believe people can be soo nasty when it comes to house buying and selling.

Summerfruit · 18/04/2007 12:54

Message withdrawn

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 12:57

Excellent cameroonmama. We have a deal. Me and my combine harvester'll fit right in.

I might come to your London meet. Depends whether Mathilda's in or out though.

scootermum · 18/04/2007 13:12

I think im coming to the meet up too-just need to sort something out for DD as i cant be bothered lugging her about on the Tube..
Is there a venue and a time?

Have conducted two appraisals this morning and now am against the clock to sort out lots of filing, audit about 10 things in service, tidy up office as its embarassing, send 3 reports to varous recipients and get evidence for last RMA unit before I leave tomorrow...Plus must also eat lunch as am starving hungry!

Feed Hugs some cake and sing to him-he will drop right off and then you can have a nap with him largegandt..always works for DD, not.The child will not sleep in the day even though she is completely knackered unless I physically hold her down until she falls asleep..(not in a child abuse way but YKWIM).Why cant she be sensible and just go and get in her cot and go to sleep when she is tired?(Perchance because she is 16 months old .

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 13:15

16 month olds aren't completely autonomous? Oh God, I'm in for a shock. Shouldn't she be driving by now?

Lwatkins · 18/04/2007 13:25

Afternoon All

My lord what a chore to do anything! I can't bend at all, I can't sit cause I get a babies arse shooting through my ribs, I can't stand cause I get backache, I can't lie down cause I need to get straight back up again to pee and doing anything else makes me sleepy!

Scoot I haven't the foggiest about these exams. My lecturers aren't telling me anything, sent my course leader an email yesterday about taking them early and haven't heard back yet. Times a tickin' though cause I leave here on the 5th May. And have just looked at my timetable and it doesn't look like I have any lectures until 3rd and 4th May (end of term). Which means I'm stuck in this cell of a room until then with nothing to do.

TYG OUCH! Your poor foot, take it easy lady. Don't worry about cleaning, just relax and let people wait on you!

SOH chuckle, chuckle, chuckle. Glad everything went ok with m/w. Pmsl at the idea of you lined up at the end of a bunk whilst some big burley m/w inspects your sheets are folded properly, whilst you answer all her questions with 'YES DRILL SERGENT!'

Cinnamontam you must take it easy, don't get yourself all stressed out like that. Eat some cake instead, cake always makes me feel better

A BIG hello to everyone else!

Am feeling a bit ratty today, very noisy flatmates at 3 o'clock this morning that didn't shut up until gone 5! So I'm feeling very sorry for myself about everything. Weather is so nice, I want to go outside and enjoy it but can't really. Nothing much to do on this bloody campus.

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 14:47

I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny, isn't it?

cinnamontam · 18/04/2007 14:49

Hey all - have really missed the chat so giving myself 10 mins at work to have a quick read and thank you for the 'rest and delegate' advice which...don't be angry...I will try to follow but not sure how much luck i will have

I'm a consultant so there is no-one taking my job. I just have to complete some internal pieces of work and handover a bunch of stuff to other people but it all has to be documented. However, it's almost the end of Wed so only 7 working days to go and then i am FREEEEEEEEE

Did just take a lovely supplier out for lunch and had a beer so feeling quite squiffy. Bean is doing her usual bouncing and not feeling as dizzy as i was so it's all good

SKYTVADDICT · 18/04/2007 14:50

Hello all

Not been on for a couple of days and really don't think I can catch up. Just had a quick scan through, hope you are all ok and coping with the heat. Its hot here again today.

Charleymouse - the twins picture is beautiful.

Had a scan yesterday and baby measuring 40 weeks and weighing about 8lb, engaged but nothing happening yet! I will be 39 weeks on Friday. They made me an appointment for 3 May but I told them I hope I won't be there!!

cinnamontam · 18/04/2007 14:51

SOH - I have 3 moments like that so know exactly what you mean.

The 'I'm pregnant one - OMG' is currently top of the list followed by 'I live in London - OMG' followed by 'I'm married - OMG'. Don't have the last one so much now as it has been 6 years but every now and then it suprises me.

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 14:54

Oh yes 'I'm married' (DH seems such a rational man, what the heck made him marry me fgs).

I forget I'm pg sometimes and then catch sight of what a monster I am and do a double take.

Not only am I pregnant, it's a baby in there...

InTheseShoes · 18/04/2007 14:58

Hello, I am back. I was attached to a rather scary looking machine for half an hour which measured my BP as the not very worrying at all 111/76; 113/73 and 112/79. My bloods that were taken yesterday are fine and although there is still a slight trace of protein in my wee, it is reassuringly either "a bit of discharge" (lovely) or "at the very worst a water infection that we can get your GP to give you some ABs for". So, all that worry over nothing, although at least my hospital bag is nearly done and my baby clothes are washed. Plus I ordered my nursing bras from "EnormousNorksRUs.com" (aka Bravissimo) last night. So, it has served a purpose, which is to have made me organise myself. Jonah, let me know when you want me to pop over and organise you now...

Celebrated by going to Tesco, and then spending the afternoon reading celebrity gossip magazines, which all seem to be about pregnant "zelebs". I note with interest that any one of you could be Jordan or Angela Griffin, as both are due in May. lgt, are you Jordan, and all this "moving to Plymouth" is a euphemism for "getting myself well known in the USA", and "baking cakes" is "finding different positions to have sex in to ease my sciatica"???

cinnamontam · 18/04/2007 14:58

Was going to ask you about the CD's. Tell me what you liked in particular and I'll send you some more

cinnamontam · 18/04/2007 14:59

Oh April 30th meet-up sounds great. When and where? Count me in for sure

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 15:18

Snort at LG&T as Jordan. Oh just the very thought of it. And that makes N Peter Andre does it?

scootermum · 18/04/2007 15:20

How weird to think that one of us might be Jordan!Come on now-own up-unless its a double bluff Intheseshoes and its really you-was you reference to huge norks a clue I wonder?!

Did you have a read of this weeks Heat by any chance?I was much cheered by the picture of Charlotte Church as she looked as big as me at 4 months-always heartening to see a normal looking celeb IMO..

Have just eaten lunch, (chicken salad, v.healthy)
Although about to be spoilt by the box of petits couer biscuits I am about to demolish-they have just started selling them in the French cafe up the road-God I love those things! Was always meaning to ask Mrs JB to send me some over-but now can save on the P and P..except duh, the cafe is near work, which is a 1.5 hour drive from home..Will just have to buy about 10 packs tomorrow to last me..(about 2 days probably)

Juicylucytoo · 18/04/2007 15:21

LG&T's DH is a much more famous (and better) singer than Peter Andre

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 15:26

Gareth Gates?

dorisdaily · 18/04/2007 15:28

Hello - hope this isn't tmi especially as I have only posted 2 or 3 times before - but has anyone else started losing the mucas plug I'm 35weeks tommorow, 2nd preg?

ShowOfHands · 18/04/2007 15:30

Oh yes, started to lose it (my plug not my sanity) last week at 35 weeks. They aren't too concerned and said it could be weeks. They then cackled with glee. Sods.

scootermum · 18/04/2007 15:43

Nothing is happening to me at all..Im 35 weeks tomorrow too..Midwife 'didnt know' which way the baby was lying, helpful..Im just the size of a house and not all that comfy...

Have lost it at work now-quite a bit to do but am soooo tired and Ive no motivation at all..I want to go home...someone give me some sort of pep talk-ive only today and tomorrow to go and have lost the will to work now..And I ve still got to get evidence for one more NVQ unit...gaaaaah!

DH has just called to say he is going to Paris for work for 2 days one week before my due date...not sure if thats a very good idea or not..It'll be alright wont it?The baby wont come whilst he's gone and DD will have to deliver it?
