Oh, and I also mentioned the tiredness to her, DH ineruppted me and said "but that was just the heat" and I was hoping she'd say something like no that's normal, or something and she didn't say a word!!

MrsLoz · 20/07/2017 17:26

poochieblue where have you been travelling to with regards to zika?

I was in Italy last week and no matter what I did I ended up getting mosquito bites everyday. They practically all cleared up and Italy is not a Zika country so I wasn't planning on mentioning it to midwife/doctors. Should I mention it to them?

OrangeCloud18 · 20/07/2017 17:32

Poochie Being tired is normal! The last week I have been in bed at 8pm and sleeping all the way through my alarm at 6.30am. I've also taken naps at the weekend haha
In regards to what to do, you need to take the vitamins and book your first appointment with the midwife (ring your surgery).

Feeling a bit better this afternoon but it will all start again tomorrow morning...

TeaAndPjs · 20/07/2017 18:00

she said glad scan went well

Hope you get on ok lasurpriseand can get through to you

Mega bloated here too to the extent my mum commented on it today! If be interested in a fb group too

Poochieblue · 20/07/2017 18:05

mrsloz we were in Cuba, if I'd found out any sooner that 4hrs before I left for the airport I don't think I'd have gone Blush

Thanks orange will call them tomorrow, am lucky the majority of the receptionists at my surgery are human! Lol

shesaid sorry I didn't say it earlier so pleased the scan went well Grin

Fefifoefum · 20/07/2017 18:16

@Poochieblue I'm a Zika worrier too! We holidayed in Mexico in April/may, I conceived early June. One article id read said wait 1 month, then when I was actually pregnant I did reading (silly I know!) and it now says wait 6 months post travel! I rang my midwife in a panic, and she said they don't really do anything because there's no 100% test, you just get more scans later on.
However, I'm rationalising that women live in these countries and have healthy babies, I visited for a short while and only got a few bites!

I'm still feeling bloody awful! But I had my hair and brows done today and feel like a new woman! I may actually eat some dinner tonight!
I'd definitely be up for Facebook, this whole changing threads thing had me confused!

1000jobstodo · 20/07/2017 18:32

So glad all was ok Shesaid

God I'm having stomach cramps followed by diarrhoea every evening like clockwork. I'm going to have to be at home by 6pm every evening.. Feel like I'm on a tag! Can see from posts I'm not the only one suffering with this.. Still no sickness but massive swollen tummy. Plus I'm 'Hangry' before every meal. Blush

Flatwhite31 · 20/07/2017 18:38

@1000jobstodo I keep getting an upset stomach in the morning! My nausea is definitely worse in the evening tonight. Haven't been eating healthily this week (typical in a school during the last week of term), so I'm cooking a stir fry tonight with wholewheat noodles. The smell is tipping me over the edge though!

DancingUnicorn · 20/07/2017 18:42

Feeling grim on a bus.

FuzzyOwl have messaged you! Thanks!

Poochieblue · 20/07/2017 18:59

Fefifoefum we were in Cuba. She just said theyd check at my scans, most likely the 20wks one but just seems a bit late to me considering what I've read about it. I read that there is nothing they can do to prevent it or cure it but that they can test for it, maybe like you said those tests aren't accurate.

flatwhite I'm the same as you, upset tum in the morning, nauseous in the evenings. I go from being nauseous to starving to suddenly not being able to finish my mouthful without wanting to gag! Blush

MrsW0812 · 20/07/2017 18:59

Feeling awful tonight - the nausea is getting worse which makes me think the sickness won't be long now.

I have my mum visiting for three weeks and DH and I are telling both mums on Saturday but getting hard to disguise what's going on.

I've just had to rush upstairs to loo saying there's a sickness bug going round work as the dinner made me feel so green! 🤢🤢

SheSaidHeSaid · 20/07/2017 19:09

Hi to the newbies 👋🏼.

Zika has been a worry/pain for me too. Went to Thailand in jan and didn't realise they had it now. Luckily I conceived in June so it was about 6 months anyway. DH and I wanted to go away again this year before baby comes but all the places we want to go to have Zika and we are also faced with airlines not allowing pregnant women to fly past certain dates, even with a letter from a dr is a bit of a risk as I could book it now, pay money out and then not be able to go in the end if I can't get a note for whatever reason.

I'm off to Croatia in September with a load of friends and other couples, including a cute little girl who will be bout 6 months old at that point (bless!). So that's something to look forward to until we sort out where to go for our last holiday just the two of us zika free.

rebbles · 20/07/2017 19:11

@poochieblue Tiredness is definitely very normal.
Re:zika -where did you go? Were you bitten at all? Definitely mention it at the booking in appointment as they might offer additional growth scans throughout pregnancy as a result.
You will find GPs aren't too helpful with any pregnancy and post-natal stuff. The midwives will be very helpful though so start writing a list of stuff you want to mention/ask when you have your first appointment.

rebbles · 20/07/2017 19:15

@poochieblue sorry just seen your previous post. I don't think they would be able to tell before 20 weeks, plus there isn't anything they can do about it.

Flatwhite31 · 20/07/2017 19:15

@Poochieblue we have exactly the same symptoms! How far along are you again? I'm 7+1 going from lmp, but I'm pretty sure I'm a teeny but further along (only by 2-3 days though) as I ovulated early.

Poochieblue · 20/07/2017 19:31

flatwhite I'm 6+2 according to my lmp but that in itself was a weird one so not totally sure lol

mrsw DH really doesn't want to tell anyone till we've had a scan, although I had to tell DM as I was so upset on holiday and she called the drs for the appt for me. She's now pressuring me to tell my sisters and it's beginning to really annoy me! I know if I don't know though she will just tell them herself which really beyond P me off as she always tells them "secrets" even when I specifically ask her not to!
Feel like I'm stuck between DH and DM

1000jobstodo · 20/07/2017 19:33

Also this 'you don't need extra calories before your last trimester' has clearly never been pregnant!

I fed my last baby on biscuits and she was a little large, but otherwise fine.
I'm the same as you poochie, I go from indigestion and feeling full to ravenous and searching for biscuits.

I'm off to get a biscuit Wink

stumblymonkeyagain · 20/07/2017 19:43

Well...had the scan and it's a bit inconclusive/possibly not good news.

There is a gestational sac but it has nothing in it...no yolk sac, no fetal pole.

It could be that we are not as far along as we think or it could be that it's not a viable pregnancy. Now in a bit of watch and wait. I'm contacting the EPU tomorrow who will want to re-scan next week and possibly the week after to see if anything progresses or if it's an early MMC (report attached)

March 2018 (Part 2)
Excited1103 · 20/07/2017 19:57

That sounds horribly scary @stumblymonkeyagain. I hope the little one was late and hiding, ready to appear at EPU. Fingers crossed for you and many hugs, hoping for the best next week.

stumblymonkeyagain · 20/07/2017 20:01

TBH...we weren't planning to get pregnant until next year so while it's a bit sad I'm not too upset.

That sounds awful I know but it would be better that it was me having a mc than one of you guys (though I realise that's not how it works).

I actually feel less anxious at least knowing where things are up to and having a plan no matter which way it goes. I'd rather know early that it's a mmc than not find out until 12 weeks...so glad I went for the scan.

Excited1103 · 20/07/2017 20:03

@GassyLadies - I got the following advice from my midwife:
Drink: peppermint tea, peppermint water from the chemist; if it gets very bad then Fybergel orange sachet
Eat: beetroot, blackberries, spinach, brussels sprouts
Don't eat: bread, real dairy (last is probably just me, I'm lactose intolerant so have the lacto-free stuff)

SheSaidHeSaid · 20/07/2017 20:04

Gosh Stumbly I really hope everything turns out ok for you.

How far along did you think you were? I ended up being dated 5 days less pregnant than I thought I was, which at this stage is quite a bit of development and could be a very likely reason.

OP posts:
stumblymonkeyagain · 20/07/2017 20:12

Well very early...only 6+1 but we could only have conceived in the first six days after my period stopped.

So there's a slim chance we aren't as far along as we think but I'm 90% leaning towards it not being viable.

We last had sex in the cycle on CD10 which even if the sperm hung around for a few days puts me exactly at CD14 which is what the LMP calculation assumes. I don't think it's that likely on that basis that we're not as far along as the LMP calculation says. I'd expect to be a few days more advanced if anything.

That being said it's not impossible that I just have a slow starter I guess but I'm sort of expecting to mc now TBH...

SheSaidHeSaid · 20/07/2017 20:17

You never know. I know the date I did the deed and when my LMP was and was convinced I was right in thinking I was 7 weeks until they measured me yesterday at 6+2, apparently I must have ovulated late or had a lazy egg/sperm thing going on.

I do think it's good to mentally prepare yourself but I will still be holding out hope for you. Keep us all posted.
