Stumbly so sorry to see your scan didn't go as hoped. It must be frustrating having to wait for answers.

SheSaidHeSaid · 21/07/2017 07:36

Morning all!

TeaAndPjs · 21/07/2017 08:18

stumbly so sorry to jear about tour scan but keeping my fingers crossed for you

martinsgirl yep totally diff this time, up till yesyerday the o my symptoms I've had are light cramping and bloating! Yesterday my boobs got mega tingly/itchy but with my.other 2 they have been agony since 4 weeks!!

Anyone else feeling cold a lot? I randomly feel goosepimply and chilled but not cold to the touch etc, as if I'm colder on the inside!

ChaoticKate · 21/07/2017 08:50

Morning all,

Stumbly I've got my fingers crossed for you and I did think your friend's response was really quite thoughtless. Hopefully your next scan will show good news.

Still suffering from almost constant nausea and my appetite has vanished over the past few days, which may not be a bad thing as I've put on 2kg despite only being 7+4. No idea how as I'd definitely been eating less and have cut out my daily latte. Also got the sore boobs, wind and tiredness. Still very happy though, the symptoms reassure me that I didn't imagine the positive tests. Midwife phoned this week, she was lovely and I have my first appointment on Tuesday, which is the same day that I've booked a scan. I'm very excited but also petrified that there won't be anything there.

whyhastherumgone · 21/07/2017 08:50

I either seem to feel really hot or really cold, Tea, no inbetween! not sure if that's just a symptom of the weird weather we're having tho!

Sallywiththegoodhurr · 21/07/2017 09:07

Can anyone else not seem to stop eating? I haven't lost the baby weight from my last pregnancy 18 months ago Blush so I really don't want to gain any extra weight this time which means being very careful.
Unfortunately all I want to do is eat toast and cheese pasties Hmm

TeaAndPjs · 21/07/2017 09:07

Once I wrap up to beat the cold I end up too hot and back to square 1, seems to be a very fine line for me between hot/cold

chaotic I wish my appetite would disappear for a little, I'm constantly feeling empty and feeling like I MUST eat

Gallopingfeet · 21/07/2017 09:24

Hope your okay stumbly, how are you feeling today?

Banania · 21/07/2017 09:59

Sorry to hear your news stumbly. Mind yourself over the next week or so.

tea yes I'm cold too. Doesn't help that it's cold where i am Hmm but it was definitely a thing for me with dc2.

I don't really feel like eating anything but still seem to be grazing mindlessly. The thought of certain things, like fish, makes me feel sick. Nothing really appeals. Have gone off coffee which I'm happy about as it makes it easier to stop for a while. Still hanging onto my tea though, couldn't face the morning without it.

It's pouring here today, I'm overdue a run but will really have to talk myself into it later.

TeaAndPjs · 21/07/2017 10:49

Morhimgs making me nauseous/sick but I am turbo g my nose up at food is normally eat, just doesn't appeal to me! I could never give up tea, I have maybe 2-3 coffees over the space of a week so haven't gave them up just yet, love my sat morning coffee on my way to work!

It's been hot here most of the week so I have no excuse

whyhastherumgone · 21/07/2017 10:53

When did everyone's sickness start, if you've got it? I've had a few queasy moments and random dry heaving but they seem to be sporadic so wondering I've escaped it - am five weeks today.

Sallywiththegoodhurr · 21/07/2017 11:03

whyhastherumgone I'm 4 + 2 and have had a couple of queasy moments but literally 1 or 2. With my other pregnancies I think it kicked in at around 6 weeks and I felt really queasy in the mornings, evenings and whenever I was hungry,It has stopped all 3 times at 9 weeks too so I've been lucky!

Some people don't get anything at all

hometownunicorn · 21/07/2017 11:04

I've been really cold too, which I remember from last time. Although that was January, so more understandable! Other than that I'm mostly just constipated, gassy and have loads of discharge which keeps making me worry I'm bleeding. I also threw up on Wednesday evening, but that might have been migraine related. It's great being pregnant, isn't it...

stumbly I'm really sorry about your scan, although you seem to be handling it well. Your friend's response is less great though.

NorthernBelly · 21/07/2017 12:12

@whyhastherumgone I'm 6+3 and feeling a bit nauseous today and have a feeling at the back of my throat like I want to dry heave (lovely!) I'm eating loads but not sure if that's helping or making it worse? Just wondering if anyone knows whether vomiting with morning sickness has any relation to being sick when not pregnant? I can only remember actually vomiting twice in my adult life. I'm never sick when I have hang overs or travel sickness etc. Anyone else able to prove/disprove my theory?!

NorthernBelly · 21/07/2017 12:15

Ooh might have just found an answer to my own question!

Who is most likely to experience morning sickness and nausea?
Women who are pregnant with twins or multiple babies are generally more prone to morning sickness and nausea, as their hormone levels are generally higher than other pregnant women. Additionally, a propensity for motion sickness, nausea from birth control, or a family history of morning sickness may all be factors indicating a greater likelihood of experiencing morning sickness and nausea during pregnancy.

OrangeCloud18 · 21/07/2017 12:20

why I started feeling nauseous/sick at 5 weeks... I am now 7+2, having nausea 24/7 although it is a bit more bearable late afternoon and I am throwing up every morning.

mrskitty15 · 21/07/2017 12:58

@stumbly Hope you are ok

This may be a really daft question, but does anyone else find they don't have much of an appetite at times? I am worried in case I am not eating enough for the baby? I am 5+3 today, I also have a toddler who is a bit poorly at the moment which is adding to my worries.

TeaAndPjs · 21/07/2017 13:05

northern I'm prone to travel sickness etc and when real bad will vomit, same after a night out on the tiles (not every night out) but in pregnancy I've never actually been sick, only ever felt nauseous

Bluebell93 · 21/07/2017 13:17

I'm 5+1 today and had a random attack of nausea when speaking to a colleague. Calmed down after taking a breather in the loo and eating lots of polos, but definitely not got much appetite. Can you eat too many polos btw?

Going to try cheese on toast for lunch and hope that settles ok.

For those of you with sickness / nausea, how on earth do you continue to concentrate on work when feeling unwell?

MrsW0812 · 21/07/2017 13:18

@NorthernBelly I don't like being sick so am very rarely physically throwing up. My mum suffered really badly with sickness when she was pregnant with me and my brother so I'm thinking that I'm going to be struck soon. In 5+3 today and ace read that sickness mostly can start from week 6 onwards.

I'm sure I'll keep you all updated! Suffering with severe nausea and still getting cramps

Roll on 12 weeks! 😀

NorthernBelly · 21/07/2017 14:12

TeaAndPjs - that debunks my theory then! 😊 and fingers crossed you will manage to avoid any throwing up MrsW.

I'm off work now till Sept (I'm a supply teacher) It's great being off, but it's also giving me lots of time to drive myself batty googling! I should be doing loads of stuff round the house while my daughter is in nursery but instead I've just laid on the sofa all day 😴

OrangeCloud18 · 21/07/2017 14:27

My mum suffered from morning sickness for her 4 pregnancies so I guess I was bound to have it...

mrskitty Are you taking vitamins? If so, you should be fine. My doctor said not to worry, that the baby is like a parasite that will feed off everything it needs even when you feel really poorly!

Bluebell I try to work for half an hour, then go get some water, to the loo, chat with a colleague, go have a wander around, etc. I've been a lot slower at my work this week though and I had to cancel an away meeting as was feeling too sick.

Doublegloucester · 21/07/2017 14:31

Argh, i fell off the last thread and 6 pages of posts already!!

mrskitty15 · 21/07/2017 15:16

@orangecloud18 Yes, I had been taking Folic acid for a couple of months and have started taking the seven seas pregnancy vitamins today. I wanted to start taking them as soon as possible as when my morning sickness and nausea kicked in last time at about 10 weeks I struggled to take them every day as I felt so rotten. With my last pregnancy I survived on boiled mints and boiled sweets when I was nauseous, I remember interviewing whilst feeling really sick and desperately trying not to puke all over the interview candidate... As I am a bit of a stress head I think we might book in for an early scan privately before telling family. Although, I am not sure yet how to explain why I am not drinking alcohol next weekend when we have some family to stay... Any good excuses out there please? Wink
