Mamamiz scary but you are in the right hands... have had three haematomas pop : blood clots and they found little bean flickering in a scan so fx same for you. I still have one hanging about so am off work to rest - no bleeds since sat ! Lost so much last week that showed me how hard beans can fight . Hope scan goes well!

Stuckinstressville · 01/08/2017 13:13

For those with nausea -these sickness bands do help me-did with ds too. Amazon !

ZylaB · 01/08/2017 13:50

Lying on the sofa feeling too nauseous and tired to move. Luckily managed to go out this morning with DD so she had a play, poor thing, I feel like I'm neglecting her!
Also, I hate that symptoms come and go!!!!

Another scan tomorrow..

ZylaB · 01/08/2017 14:22

Ooh do bow I've just thrown up so hard my throat bled, today is a good day for symptoms! 😂😷

ZylaB · 01/08/2017 14:22

*and now, not do bow

FuzzyOwl · 01/08/2017 14:44

Hope all goes well with tomorrow's scan, Zyla

Flatwhite31 · 01/08/2017 14:49

Oh poor you @ZylaB. Watch out for signs of hyperemesis. Good luck with the scan. Xx

Hello everyone, I'm feeling pretty rough today. I have lower back pain and slept really badly last night so am exhausted today. Went out for lunch and started randomly gagging on the way back [strangers on the street gave me a wide berth Grin ] and then had to run to the loo to throw up a tiny bit [have barely eaten today].
It's the first time I've been sick - I was taken aback with the force of the retching [sorry if tmi] it actually hurt my stomach! Is this what you've all been suffering?

@mamasiz will be thinking of you at your appointment!

I would catch up with everyone individually but I'm shattered and have to get on with some work instead of having a nap like I want to, so hi to everyone, sorry to everyone who is suffering or worrying and hope you're all doing okay! Hello to any newbies too, and congrats on your BFP.

@zylab although it sounds horrible I am glad your symptoms are back as I know you were really worrying before, and I hope you scan is reassuring tomorrow x

BlueeSpottyTiger · 01/08/2017 15:41

Those sickness bands do nothing atall for me sadly!

Scoobygang7 · 01/08/2017 16:29

Well midwife appointment went well. Got to travel to Berwick to have my bloods done on Thursday. Now just a case of waiting for scan appointment and consultant too.

Urgh I love living in a cottage on a farm until my little boy tries to take a detour through the barn that has cows in it. Nearly passed out holding my breath as struggling walking past the barn and not hurling. It was 100% worse having to walk in it. Envy

SheSaidHeSaid · 01/08/2017 17:11

Thinking of you, mamasiz.

For those of you who've had your booking in appointments, what did you wear? Sorry if that's a silly question. Just thinking that I have to get straight back to work after mine tomorrow morning, where I usually wear an office style dress but if I need to bare my stomach etc at all that might not be a suitable outfit and trousers and a top might be better?

Scoobygang7 · 01/08/2017 17:18

@SheSaidHeSaid just normal clothes some might take your bloods at the same time so access to arm may be needed and for blood pressure too. It's mainly just a he'd load of questions about yours and partners medical history and close family history.

OrangeCloud18 · 01/08/2017 17:20

Excited They don't know, it's different for everyone.
SheSaid I would wear trousers and a top because they are most likely going to feel your tummy.

I am feeling a bit better but still really tired, staying home again tomorrow. I have waves of nausea but have not thrown up again yet.

SheSaidHeSaid · 01/08/2017 17:26

Thanks scooby and orange.

Will wear trousers to be on the safe side.

Flatwhite31 · 01/08/2017 17:43

Glad you feel a bit better @OrangeCloud18. Take it easy!
My booking appointment is in eight days time. Tomorrow I'm going to see my parents for five days, so I'll be telling them then! Exciting! Just got to get through the flight first, although it's only just over an hour thankfully.

Excited1203 · 01/08/2017 17:45

Hope you're ok @mamasiz.

Sorry to hear that @OrangeCloud, I'll hope you're one who just feels magically better at 12 weeks x

@SheSaid, I had wee in pot, blood pressure and blood tests, but no tummy feel-ups. Very narrow wee pot, I wished I had taken my trusty clean Chinese food pot but managed anyway, depends how well you target but you might want to take something if you struggle to aim.

LouLouLoupee · 01/08/2017 18:20

No tummy feeling at my booking in appointment.

Just had the fear put into me from the GP surgery, they phoned to let me the doctor needed to call me tomorrow morning to discuss my blood test, and no it couldn't wait until my appointment on Thursday.

It could only really be low iron, couldn't it?

whereareyousleep · 01/08/2017 18:49

@loulou I hate it when the doctors do that scare you half to death but give you no clue what it is. I would suspect your anaemic or something but hard to say.

The sickness bands really worked for me last time but are barely taking the edge off this time and as I haven't told work I've not been able to wear them anyway. As I said they did work last time so worth a go.

Got my booking in appt on Thursday does anyone know if I have to tell them I've had a private scan?

SheSaidHeSaid · 01/08/2017 19:01

That's strange loulou , I'm sure it's nothing but way to go on scaring you! Maybe you're not seeing an actual Dr on Thursday and they need a Dr to explain something to you?

Excited1203 · 01/08/2017 19:08

It could be a UTI LouLou, my midwife told me on the phone, but said I should try to collect the antibiotics script that day. So I think they take that quite seriously. Sounds rough though, that'd scare me too!

Excited1203 · 01/08/2017 19:12

I find the bands work quite well to relieve nausea, but you really have to get them in the exactly correct spot. If they don't work for anyone, maybe try jiggling the white knobby bits up and down the blue veiny bit below the wrist (mine works just under 3 fingers from the crease). A weird side effect though is that because I'm slower to get nausea, I'm quicker to vomit a bit in the back of my throat, because I don't get away from bad smells quickly enough.

Drizz · 01/08/2017 19:29

Much sympathy on the nausea, I don't have any, like my previous pregnancies. I do need emergency snacks though. I had to stop and raid a bakery on my way to pick up the kids from child care... I was worried I'd fall over if I didn't...

Excited1203 · 01/08/2017 21:01

Anyone on public transport using a badge yet? I used my "baby on board" badge for the first time this evening. We haven't told anyone except my parents, so I'm very shy about using it, but I have a long journey each way (couple of changes) and I was so tired on the last train I thought I might fall. Took 2 stops for someone to notice and give me their seat as I didn't feel able to ask. It feels like cheating, but really - I am pregnant, so I figured I might as well. Waterloo lines turn to hell next week for 3 weeks, so I'd sent off for it as I'm not convinced I could manage to stand if that part of the journey becomes an hour home on a hot day when I'm so knackered. I wish workplaces had to offer beds for brief afternoon naps.

FuzzyOwl · 01/08/2017 21:59

That sounds worrying Lou although I bet it is something minor like anaemia or a UTI. If it was that urgent, I am sure the doctor would have called you in person immediately.

blinkineckmum · 01/08/2017 23:02

Hi,
Just checking in really. Nothing to report. I had my first midwife appt today - very straightforward. Same one I had last time, which now feels very recent!
Sorry to hear so many of you are suffering. I have no symptoms whatsoever. This doesn't worry me as it was the same with my last 2. I'm looking forward to my boobs growing though, as I've been left with very little after 2 rounds of breastfeeding... goodness knows how they'll look after this one!
Weird keeping it all a secret. Difficult too, as I have 2 toddlers with me everywhere I go, and no family nearby. I don't want my 3.5yo to cotton on yet as he'd tell everyone, so I confided in one friend so she could watch the kids while I went to my appt.
No-one will be surprised though. I have never made any secret of my desire to add to the family! Babies are the best thing ever!
Hope you all sleep well xx
