I know @catg83 but I don't have the certificate because I haven't had my booking appointment yet! I couldn't move the dentist appt as they are really booked up. At least it'll be free from my next appointment 😊.

Elbi · 31/07/2017 12:50

KerryLeanne84 Yep 32Fs here too! Though goodness knows what size they'll get to Confused

Elbi · 31/07/2017 12:50

Ooh and free dentistry? Did not know that.

GWeatherwax · 31/07/2017 12:51

I asked about this flatwhite at my bloods appointment as I've a dentist appointment soon but she said it would be after the 12 week scan until I get the form thingy signed.

Scoobygang7 · 31/07/2017 13:44

@Elbi yep free dental and free prescriptions until a year after your estimated due date. It's the estimated one as it's filled in usually around your booking appointment.

Elbi · 31/07/2017 14:24

Scooby and a year after too? That's great. Thanks for the tip, my doctor never said.

GiveMeTheTeaAndNobodyGetsHurt · 31/07/2017 14:36

Congratulations on the scan, whereareyousleep!

Re free stuff, you can get free swimming in some areas, too - worth checking with you local leisure centre.Smile

summer4881 · 31/07/2017 14:39

Hi All, Flowers been quietly following for a couple of weeks and thought I'd pipe up today as I've hit 7 weeks! It's been reassuring reading all your posts, guess I was nervous to say anything too soon!

1st pregnancy, rough due date 20th march.

Feeling constantly sick... worse when I'm laying down at night?!? Does anyone else have that?
All I seem to fancy eating is salt and vinegar crisps... Hmm

Hope you are all doing well today!

Doublegloucester · 31/07/2017 14:41

Booking in appt good but found out my local maternity unit, which is now midwife led, has closed its postnatal ward entirely! So either, I stick with this hospital and then get taken by ambulance 45 mins away for postnatal care, or I pick another hospital from the outset 45 mins in the other direction! But all my scans etc would take place there too so loadsa travelling for a non-driver (due to disability).

Also apparently no NHS tongue tie care in my area anymore. Considering DD required 3 operations, I am going to start saving now!

Sorry for the downer but quite hacked off and hoping others on the thread are offered better options than me!

MrsW0812 · 31/07/2017 14:55

@summer4881 my edd is 20th march too ( well at the moment) 😀

I'm getting nausea - constipation pain worse at night xx

summer4881 · 31/07/2017 15:02

@MrsW0812 aww so we're due date buddies! Grin is it your first?

I've had to tell my work as I work with anaesthetics and when feeling a bit rough and run down, one of my colleagues said 'most women don't even know they're pregnant by your dates so it's probably all in your head'

Made me feel pretty crappy!

Scoobygang7 · 31/07/2017 15:05

@Doublegloucester I am in the same boat kinda. I have to be consultant led and the hospitals are an hour away minimum in good traffic by car. I don't drive either so it'll all be down to my dp. Scans and everything will be there going to be a right pain, however had no choice as the other one has terrible reviews and a midwife friend of my dps even recommended the one we've chosen.

Where about a are you?

OrangeCloud18 · 31/07/2017 15:09

Hello guys! LONG BUT IMPORTANT
I am now back home after being admitted to hospital with hyperemesis gravidarum.
I feel like we were not informed properly so for those of you who are being sick/nauseous, here are the signs. If you have any of these, please call your midwife, GP, 111 or go to A&E.

  • Weight loss of 5 to 10 pounds or 5% of pre-pregnancy weight
  • Vomiting blood
  • Inability to keep any food or drink for 24hrs
  • Passing small amount of very dark yellow urine or not passing urine for 8hrs
  • Abdominal pain, fever, weakness or feeling faint
  • Vomiting once an hour or more

We didn't realise until too late and should have gone to A&E hours before we actually did. I was only told by my midwife and 111 to go to A&E if I could not keep anything down in 24hrs. It had only been 10hrs since I could not keep anything down. My urine was orange, I threw up several times an hour and it's only when I started shaking when throwing up that we went to A&E. I really scared my OH. It was really frightening but the staff at hospital was wonderful and reassured us that although it was really serious and I was in a bad state, baby was protected and would be fine. I am feeling better, I am off work for a few days, as is OH, just in case I need to go back in for a bit.

Scoobygang7 · 31/07/2017 15:25

@OrangeCloud18 I hope you feel better soon x

TeaAndPjs · 31/07/2017 15:31

double if be hacked off too, hope you're ok

summer i hate when others downplay pregnancy symptoms!

orange hope you're feeling better soon.

Just back from my scan, all is looking We'll, scan was clear and very strong HB so no more scans till 12 weeks :)

Flatwhite31 · 31/07/2017 15:50

Poor you @OrangeCloud18, that sounds awful. How long did they keep you in for? Rest up over the next few days. X

OrangeCloud18 · 31/07/2017 16:10

'Flat' I stayed almost 24hrs. They had to wait for my ketones to go back down to 0. I was at 4+ when I came in.
They gave me an IV with fluids, vitamins and anti-sickness medecine. They gave me food as well and I kept it all down which was the first time in 2-3 weeks that I did not throw up and did not feel nauseous. I also felt hungry which was first time in almost 4 weeks and the midwife was really happy when I told her.
My maternity notes have doubled in size now because they have put everything in. I also have the ward's number so that if it happens again, I can call them and will go in without going through A&E. The doctor said I would probably go back in at some point and not to worry about it.

Elbi · 31/07/2017 16:15

Glad to hear scans have gone well today!
Orange that sounds horrendous. Hope you feel better and thanks for the info.
Double that does suck. Stupid cuts.
And welcome summer!

SheSaidHeSaid · 31/07/2017 16:52

Thank you for the additional info, Orange, that's really helpful to know.

Feeling constantly sick... worse when I'm laying down at night?!? Does anyone else have that? - Yes, me. Annoying as I obviously want to go to bed because I feel sick but when I'm there I have to carefully choose my position otherwise I end up feeling worse.

MrsW0812 · 31/07/2017 17:22

That's rubbish @summer4881 - not very sympathetic!! Yes first time for me too - all a bit overwhelming at times and fed up from feeling rubbish! God knows how I'm going to get through the next 5 weeks!!

MrsW0812 · 31/07/2017 17:25

Oh my @OrangeCloud18 - that sounds awful. Hope your feeling better now xx

Great news in the scans today ladies x

Onceuponamama · 31/07/2017 18:20

Gosh orange that's awful I feel so bad for you. Does anti sickness mess help at all for you?

Girls I'm not in the same league as orange but I'm having awful nausea and stomach aches. My diet is awful as I can hardly eat. Do you have any advice to help ease the nausea/ stomach ache? I constantly feel like I'm about to have vomiting due to a terrible sickness bug!

(I'm currently in bed sipping fizzy water holding my stomach with a bucket next to me. So disgusting!)

BlueeSpottyTiger · 31/07/2017 18:33

Oh gosh orange! That's what I was suffering from last pregnancy! Awful isn't it!
I've just been signed off for a further 2 weeks with my sickness. Xx

OrangeCloud18 · 31/07/2017 18:37

Once The doctors said to eat whatever you want whenever you want and to try to stick with blend food so for example rice and chicken without any sauce. Complex food can make it difficult for your stomach to process and make you more nauseous. If you want to eat spaghetti at 9am, then eat it. Don't stick with meal times and if you fancy a bag of M&Ms for diner, just do it.
I was given cyclizine as anti-sickness medecine.
There is a great website with good advice: pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

LouLouLoupee · 31/07/2017 19:01

Oh that sounds horrendous @OrangeCloud18 hope it can be kept under control now and you don't end up back on the ward!

I had my booking in app today, all a bit dull really, although I really like the midwife and I should see her at all my apps until delivery which makes me happy.
I'm on the amber pathway due to mental health, but apart from seeing the psychiatrist there won't be any additional input.
I was interested to hear that the reason they now say no alcohol at all during pregnancy is partly because they are investigating the link between drinking alcohol in pregnancy and children with ADHD. I'm not a big drinker generally anyway, but will prob miss it a wee bit over Christmas.
