Wow congrats ! Grin

SuperDuperJezebel · 28/01/2017 22:58

They're not mine (thankfully, I don't think I could cope quitr so spectacularly!) but I'll pass on your congratulations!

girlonthetrain20 · 29/01/2017 19:24

Haven't posted on the thread yet, but I'm now 32 weeks and March seems to be approaching quickly! Currently struggling with back pain overnight. Elaborate constructions of pillows haven't worked - not sure whether a proper maternity pillow of some kind would be any better? I'd be very grateful for any recommendations if anyone has tried something which has worked! Thanks

CalltheMidwife17 · 29/01/2017 20:44

People swear by those maternity pillows, I've heard lots of talk about them . Someone on here will know the good brand .
In the last week my right knee and hip hurt in bed which is bizarre but I'm going to ride it out now as there isn't long left .Smile

SuperDuperJezebel · 29/01/2017 20:47

I bought this pillow, I love it:

I'm the opposite, my LO is head down so the movement I can feel is under my ribs and only the odd time a bit lower which i picture as arms/elbows as she is facing my spine, well was on the last scan, I have another tomorrow so would be interesting to see if she has spun around. I cant imagine she has flipped head to toe as the movement hasn't changed, but i can feel a rolling sensation sometimes Smile

I get that too Hugh ! Looks and feels like her bum and bump looks wonky haha . How exciting for scan Carol my next is 22nd Smile

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 30/01/2017 23:14

Oh I must check out that website Hugh - I like knowing what position the baby is in.

What happened with your work in the end Carol? I hope it was all sorted.

Mother I hope you're doing okay?

I had my 32 week appointment today - all is well with the baby and he's measuring at 4.5lb. He's currently head down, which is great though he kept most of his face covered the whole time despite the doctor prodding him. My next appointment is 22nd when I need to choose a hospital.

Butter I hope the appointment went well?

MotherofA · 30/01/2017 23:48

The cloud has lifted dramatically here today thanks Ghenghis , not too long ! Glad you had a good appointment. That's a good weight ! I have MW this Friday then hosp 22nd.
Had a letter from consultant saying they want to raise thyroid meds again but I already feel like my heart races on this stuff so not sure 🤔 . Hope everyone is well and getting excited , not long now ladies !

Carolann8584 · 31/01/2017 00:43

Work seems to be OK at the moment, didn't have the meeting in the end, think they could see the car situation last week was stressing enough.

4 weeks to go, starting painting boys room today, wasn't allowed to do much as my OH didn't want me climbing on chairs or ladders Smile

Having some bump aches and pains recently

Sorry about the sugar dips but great that you can legitimately carry around snacks for medical reasons Hugh Grin

I'm glad they dropped the issue Carol, it still was crap of them but as long as they leave you alone for the next few weeks and then you can drive off in your new car without a backwards glance for the following 9 or so months :)

Great news that you're feeling better Mother! I didn't realise both you and Hugh had to take thyroid medication - I hope the increase doesn't affect you too much.

I'm just experiencing the normal aches and pains, they're not too bad though. However, my morning sickness has come back which really isn't pleasant..urgh, I hope it passes quickly.

Carolann8584 · 31/01/2017 15:22

Well just bck in work after scan today, she was on the top line for "normal for 31 weeks" 3 weeks ago at appox. 4.5lbs now she's on the bottom line of "normal for 34 weeks", not had much growth in 3 weeks. Maybe half a pound.

Need to see the specialist on Monday for another scan to check the first scan was done accurately , in the meantime I have been given a steroid injection (in the bum owwww) today to help her lungs if she comes early, I have another tomorrow (in the other cheek owww)

NameChange30 · 31/01/2017 17:44

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted for ages - the thread disappeared from my "Threads I'm on" and I've only just caught up.

Sorry to read that some of you have been struggling with various sources of stress and sadness.
Butter I hope things are a bit better now and I'm wishing you and your baby lots of luck and strength for the challenges to come Flowers
Carol Glad you got a car sorted and hope your stupid employers stay off your case!
Mother Please do reach out for support if you need it. Maybe you could get referred to the perinatal mental health team? I've also heard good things about PANDA (I think that's the name!)

I've also been struggling with life stress, physical symptoms and low mood at times. I do find that pregnancy yoga helps, both physically and emotionally.

I'm 36 weeks now (due date 27/02/17) and it's starting to feel scarily real! This is my last week at work and I'm SO ready to finish now. I'm looking forward to having time for the final baby preparations (still got quite a bit to do!) and chill.

Very Envy name I'm finishing in 24 days and counting

Anybody had a steroid injection while pregnant? Does it affect baby's movement?

Dustycorners · 31/01/2017 22:36

Hi all - I haven't posted for aaaaages as have been on the FB group and generally falling asleep in the evenings as soon as DS is in bed.

Sorry some people have been feeling stressed. The end is in sight now for us all, but the third tri is tough going.

I'm booked in to have my twins by ELCS on Monday at 36+1. Looking forward to not being the size of a house anymore Smile

Carol I had a steroid injection today to help mature the babies' lungs. I didn't notice any change in movement afterwards. MW said it could push up blood sugars so that could, I guess, give the baby a burst of energy, but I can't say I had any effects. Another one tomorrow!

MotherofA · 31/01/2017 22:51

Ah nice to hear from you namechange ! 😊. Thank you , I probably should have done long ago and now I just keep thinking not long ... wow twins how exciting do you know the sexes ? Hope all goes well with having them .
Oh carol sorry to hear that about the scan etc . Just to reassure you my friend had growth scans and they were off the mark with the weight so try not to worry too much .
Ghenghis thank you ! How bizarre is this , I have felt sick the last couple of days and was sick this morning ?! Haven't been sick in months !!
Hugh wow 175? Do you get any heart racing or anything from it ? I'm on 100 they want to go up to 125 I guess I better call them tomorrow .

Smile
Carolann8584 · 31/01/2017 23:17

Oh dusty now I'm even more worried, my beanys movement has decrease! Only felt her kick once since my injection and 1 roll on the inside

She's still head down so have had loads of dancing on my ribs

MotherofA · 31/01/2017 23:43

Sorry I meant Dusty about twins Smile

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 01/02/2017 05:54

Sorry about the baby weight stress Carol but hopefully you'll get more information on Monday. How have the baby's movements been since you posted?

Gulp - less than a week to go Dusty. Good luck!!

I hope the morning sickness doesn't last too long Mother, it feels like such a kick in the teeth to have it again :)

Enjoy your last week at work Name, your due date won't be long coming around!

Carolann8584 · 01/02/2017 08:06

She's been active this morning, googled (I know, bad idea) I found some comments it can affect/slow baby movement but will still ask when I go back today

I'm sick most mornings now, I can feel the acid waiting to come up as soon as I wake up

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 01/02/2017 09:49

Good to read that she's back moving, and good luck at your appointment.
