Carol
Congratulations and well done! Sorry about your tear and having to go to theatre. Best of luck with your recovery, try and remember to look after yourself as well as the baby! (Not always easy!) Flowers

Also you might be sore to sit for a while (I could only lie on my side, stand or walk for the first couple of days!) If that's the case I recommend getting a doughnut cushion (or a child's rubber ring for swimming also works apparently). I'm still sitting on a big soft cushion on my armchair and on my doughnut cushion on a dining chair. x

Yeah, I'm a bit tender sitting, I tend to sit on my side with legs tucked up next to me.

LozzaRoseMumOf3tobe · 24/03/2017 06:32

Well I'm booked in for my section today but been in labour suite since 4am as I'm contracting every 5-8 minutes, however I'm only 1-2 cm so not in established labour ☹️ Now they are giving me til 930am to progress more and then re examine me to decide the next step, anyone got any tips to bring babies head down and dilate - quickly! I wanted a VBAC but my cervix was too high and not favourable to be induced & im now 40+6

Is it just Troodie, Garathea and myself we're waiting for now?

MotherofA · 24/03/2017 16:47

Ahhhhh congrats Carol xx

troodiedoo · 24/03/2017 16:50

Think so Sweetpeabec it's like being the last to be picked for sports teams at school Grin

Think I might be going a bit loopy Confused

troodiedoo · 24/03/2017 16:51

Glad you're home and settled HughLauriesStubble don't let those visitors tire you out!

NameChange30 · 24/03/2017 16:57

We've had loads of visitors and I find it less tiring to limit them to one set, max, per day. Although I guess if you have an "open afternoon" type invitation with people dropping in, it encourages them to stay for a shorter time Wink

The best visit was my mum who arrived with a home-cooked lunch, flowers, chocolates, a magazine and some maternity pads (which I'd asked her to pick up as I'd run out). She had a little cuddle with the baby, ate lunch with us, cleaned our bathroom and then left. I was sooo grateful! Smile

Hugh are you using cream? Will you just have to wait for them to heal and hope the latch gets better in time? Glad your both home and well x

Glad your coping with the visitors name one set per a day sounds good, have a lot of people already booked themselves in?

troodie I wonder who will go first!

troodiedoo · 24/03/2017 19:42

NameChange30 aw your mum sounds awesome Flowers

Sweetpeabec dh's family have a habit of very late babies so I'm not holding my breath that it'll be me.

Carolann8584 · 24/03/2017 20:27

Oh my gosh my DD is a ganit. She's definitely got he DF appetite

Sweetpeabec · 24/03/2017 21:21

That's good carol, she's definitely coping well outside the womb. Are you doing lots of skin to skin? Is she easy to wind?

Carolann8584 · 24/03/2017 23:40

Yeah plenty of skin to skin, she still can't latch on, she also takes after her DF in the patience dept. So I'm expressing syringes at the minute for her. Plus she's having a bit of formula as I can't keep up with her hunger

hugh think we just need to work on our latching on, she definitely search more and suckling/nuzzling more when we do skin to skin

Sweetpeabec · 25/03/2017 08:03

Hugh your poor nipples, could you express on that side and feed baby by cup or syringe? Or do people just live with it and they will heal with time?

Carol she sounds like she has good instincts and I'm glad she's feeding well.

Anyone got any tips on getting labour going? I've had a spicy curry Thursday, pineapple and sex yesterday. Went to the swimming pool and did a few lengths of breaststroke yesterday too.

NameChange30 · 25/03/2017 08:06

Sex worked for me! Labour started just a couple of hours later. I also had acupuncture about 36 hours before going into labour. Might be worth a try.

Sex was so awkward yesterday. My tummy got really in the way. And I Burst out laughing half the time! My poor OH!

NameChange30 · 25/03/2017 08:39

Yes I think DH and I were laughing at one point, it feels a bit ridiculous doesn't it!
At the risk of going into too much detail... doggy style was ok Wink
