Thinking of you Carolann8584 hope it's going well. Flowers

Carolann8584 · 22/03/2017 19:38

Anybody else made any progress? Smile

troodiedoo · 22/03/2017 19:38

Ooh those are good signs!

Sweetpeabec · 22/03/2017 19:58

Have your waters broken yet?

No progress from me.

Carolann8584 · 22/03/2017 20:09

No waters still haven't gone, cramps have gone up a stage though, I'm thinking like a car going up in gears lol! In 2nd gear now

Sweetpeabec · 22/03/2017 20:16

Have they given you a second pessary yet? Are you on a ward?

Carolann8584 · 22/03/2017 20:18

Not had 2nd yet, yeah on a ward, there's another lady here who had hers done about 30mins to and hour after mine, she's not had her 2nd yet either

Sweetpeabec · 22/03/2017 20:24

They should give you another soon? Have they offered any gels?

Carolann8584 · 22/03/2017 20:33

Nothing, had my BP checked at 4 then asked if I needed any pain meds at tea time but I said it was manageable and no one has been back since. My OH has had to leave now as well. Only allowed to stay til 8:30 unless I'm in labour obviously

MotherofA · 22/03/2017 20:43

Good luck to all the ladies in labour ! Smile
Hugh how is your tummy after the section ? I am 12 days in now and in quite a bit of pain . I don't know if that is because they had to use forceps to get baby out or if it's normal . I haven't had a day to myself yet we have had people every day and I feel worn out .

Carolann8584 · 22/03/2017 22:00

Just had my obs done, asked about another pessary MW said the one put it works for 24 hours. She also said she felt my bump tighten but I didn't feel anything

Sweetpeabec · 22/03/2017 22:44

Crap that's ages!!! I really wish and hope your contractions start soon. Do you think you will be able to sleep?

Carolann8584 · 22/03/2017 23:10

Not likely, I don't sleep well away from home, the cramps are coming in waves but not painful enough for any pain relief. Plus there's a ticking clock in here which is driving me mad. I know I need to rest as much as poss Sad

Sweetpeabec · 22/03/2017 23:55

I feel your pain, I would be the same in your situation. It takes me ages to get used to different noises at night so spending a night on a ward would be a nightmare for me. I currently have my house rabbit in my room and it took a good few nights to get used to her rustling around!

Carolann8584 · 23/03/2017 00:33

Now I've coughed my pessary out! Actually felt it come out Sad

Just put me back on the monitor for 30 mins then they can put another one in, having contractions but not regular

Carolann8584 · 23/03/2017 02:07

I am far too tense!

Tried to do an internal, she said if my cervix is ready I might not need another pessary in and I can go have my waters done in labour ward but cervix is too high and too far back so they have put another pessary in which was worse than when they put in the first one.

Sorry for those worried about being induced, hoping the pessary insertion is better for you.

Really want my OH here but he's home sleeping, he has his phone on just in case but don't want to call coz he will think I'm in labour Sad

Half an hour monitoring again then maybe I can try and sleep

Sweetpeabec · 23/03/2017 04:46

Hey carol how are you holding up? Hope you have had some sleep or rested your eyes for a bit. Are you still having contractions?

Carolann8584 · 23/03/2017 05:45

Not good at all

2nd pessary went in at 2 been in agony since, finally asked for painkillers at 3:30ish was given paracetamol and codine I've been pacing the ward ever since.

Sweetpeabec · 23/03/2017 06:02

Have they checked if your dilated yet? Have you been eating anything?

Carolann8584 · 23/03/2017 06:24

I'm so tense it's too painful for them to check, not that they've tried. Just tried timing the pains. 2 mins of pain followed by 1-2 mins ease then 2 mins of pain again

Just called the MW over she said I will be assessed again soon but she can't give me anything else for pain yet.

Carolann8584 · 23/03/2017 06:26

Not eaten since about 6 yesterday, drank loads coz I've still got my sore throat which feels like sandpaper at the minute coz of all my breathing through the pain.

Carolann8584 · 23/03/2017 06:27

I'm that tense it's a battle to go to the loo

Sweetpeabec · 23/03/2017 06:37

Well at least the pain is long and close between. That has to be a very good sign your nearly there. If you have any food, try and eat something. Or drink some lucozade if you have any to keep your energy up x
