Yeah every time I get it checked its high then low, plus the pass couple of times there's been trace amounts of protein in my sample, they did say see how the sweep goes and if it's favorable

MotherofA · 02/03/2017 19:02

My friend had pre eclampsia and was induced on her due date Carol x

BridgetDoodle · 02/03/2017 20:22

Carol I've been having similar symptoms- my blood pressure is nearly always high but by the end of the appointment it's normal again. I've had a trace of protein in my urine for about 3 weeks now but my consultant was not concerned about this and said our kidneys can become a little leaky in later stages of pregnancy. He is happy for me to just go on but will induce me 5 days after due date. My baby has been 90th centile so I'm happy for him/her to come! Last measured at 8lb 6oz.
Hope you're feeling ok!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 02/03/2017 23:10

I also know some people who have been induced on their due date due to bp Carol. Great news that your baby is doing well.

Regarding the nursing bras - I would like to know why the majority of them are so ugly?!

NameChange30 · 02/03/2017 23:13

I have a Panache Sophie soft cup bra which isn't too bad (although still not particularly flattering shape-wise).

I just started a thread asking for nursing bra recommendations, actually. The hotmilk bras look good (they actually look like normal bras!) but they're a bit pricey so I'm going to wait until my boob size stops fluctuating before buying one!

Carolann8584 · 03/03/2017 00:57

My boobs haven't changed, I only changed to non wired bras as the wire would rub on bump, so I switched to nursing bras

SlurplePurple · 03/03/2017 05:13

Regardingnursing bras, I just use those stretchy no bra things. But I get them from Asda and they have ordinary bra straps so you can't see big thick elastic straps under your clothes. They are fab for pulling up or down depending on what your wearing etc and hold breast pads firmly in place.
Scan didn't go well. Baby has dropped from over the 90th to below the 50th centile in 2 weeks. I had steroids yesterday and will be having more this morning and baby will be out on Monday morning. A whole 3 weeks early. They estimate he weighs around 6lbs. I have some shopping to do as I was expecting a 9lber and have nothing in under 0-3 oops!
But it will be amazing to be able to walk and move properly afterwards without spd pains.
Fingers crossed he's perfectly healthy and just taking a break from fattening up.

SlurplePurple · 03/03/2017 05:15

Oh and steroid injections sting like mad! In the bum haha very dignified is how I felt.
Now I haven't slept because my whole upper body and head is flushed and boiling but I'm freezing without my duvet. Have been awake since 1.10am and only went to bed at 10pm. Dd is at nursery all day though so I may get a quick nap in with ds if I'm out of the clinic and home.

MotherofA · 03/03/2017 06:55

Oh so sorry to hear that Slurple . Glad they are getting baby out soon for you and fingers crossed for everything . My friend had a similar experience and her daughter was born 6lb3 , she is just very petite even now a year on she's still small !
Looks like you'll need some first size stuff hehe . I didn't buy any first size as my DD was 0-3 but a friend has given me lots . I don't know what to expect this time .
All the best , hope you get some rest and keep us posted FlowersCake

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 03/03/2017 07:35

Goodness Slurple, that must have come as a shock. Great that they're top of it though and good luck for Monday. I hope you manage to get some rest today!

Carolann8584 · 03/03/2017 08:07

slurple I had the steriod injections at 35 weeks, the first one really hurt coz she did it slowly but the second didn't hurt as much coz I got an "old school" MW she did it quick no messing.

Hope you get your nap after your bad night

Slurple
Sorry to hear your baby's growth has slowed down. Best of luck for Monday.
You might need some tiny baby size as well as newborn? My nephew was a similar size when he was born and even newborn was too big!

Garethea · 03/03/2017 10:16

I'm like you Carol. Switched from normal to nursing in the first trimester. Mothercare ones. I'm more comfortable in them than out.

Sorry to hear about your scan Slurple. Will be sending positive thoughts your way on Monday.

NameChange30 · 03/03/2017 10:22

PS My nephew was tiny but healthy, btw, and I'm sure your baby will be too Flowers

I only bought a couple of nursing bras I have been alternating, I've got some nursing vests which I plan to use while getting the hang of things at home with LO

Plus don't know if I will need a bigger size once I get flowing (hopefully)

MotherofA · 03/03/2017 21:25

Just had a thought , it's my last weekend of being a mother to one child .... so excited yet also finding the thought of having a newborn daunting !
Hope everyone is having a great weekend Smile

Carolann8584 · 03/03/2017 22:02

Wow mother so exciting Smile

My little lady has been invited to her first wedding, well we all have but it will be her first family event so dress shopping for her....what do you think...

Ahhhh that's gorgeous go for it ! Smile

Garethea · 04/03/2017 08:07

Mother that is so exciting. I'm a little jealous!

And that is super cute Carol. Just gorgeous.

MotherofA · 04/03/2017 08:26

Haha yes it is odd knowing the date etc . I'm scared Smile

bobbis · 04/03/2017 09:47

I had that exact thought today mother! You've got double the age gap on me but I still feel like it was so long ago since I've had a newborn. That's a few of our babies that will be born by the end of next week Grin
Cute Carol :) I'll be honest I've definitely preferred shopping for a girl, so much more option than I had with my son...shocked because I'm not that girly haha

Carolann8584 · 04/03/2017 10:27

bobbis I'm not a girly girl either, I've got 5 brothers so surprising myself with all the girly outfits she has

MotherofA · 04/03/2017 10:51

Yes it's a bit scary isn't it ! I mean it all came naturally last time so I know it will again but argh . I keep thinking about weaning bathing etc like will I know what to do etc GrinShock

Carolann8584 · 04/03/2017 11:37

Erm.... Can I leak if I haven't lost my plug?
