I've still not had my "arrrgh I'm somehow going to have to get this little lady out" moment. I'm sure it will come Smile

Advice please ladies, getting I little stressed about work (already) had my revised letter in the post regarding my maternity leave, after last weeks meeting of "we think it would be best if I started my may leave early" it now says I'm due back 16/11, then goes on to say I will have x amount of holidays to take to be agreed with my manager. It was already agreed at the last meeting I would take them at the end of my mat leave. Now I'm not so sure she will keep to that. I know I finished a week earlier but that wasn't something I expected.

Sorry should have added because I finished early I would need to take a week unpaid at the end of the year as well to take me to January, so should I just change my mat leave to 40 weeks instead of 39 weeks? Can they say no?

Carolann8584 · 21/02/2017 20:09

Well my holidays were already agreed in the earlier meeting so not sure why they are changing it now. Will try and find my earlier agreement

MotherofA · 21/02/2017 22:31

I am feeling a tad panicky and also worrying I won't have everything done for DD party and actual birthday .
Carol I don't know much about work situ but I am sure if they have already signed an agreement they have to honour it? X

Carolann8584 · 21/02/2017 22:58

Bit of cramping tonight ladies, feels like the day before my period is due to start! Funny after months and months of not having one you never forget the feeling.

NameChange30 · 22/02/2017 06:35

Hugh
Glad your baby is in the right position now, yay!
Sorry to hear about your anxiety.. it may be down to hormones but there are things you can do about it. CBT, mindfulness, yoga.

I've had no more leaks or cramping, the only development is that my PGP (lower back and hips) is even worse Sad Saw my osteopath who predicted that I'll have the baby around 41 weeks (6 March) which means I still have about 12 days to go Sad I do hope it will be a bit earlier than that!

I'm trying to stay busy but it's difficult with the pain and exhaustion. Had a long nap yesterday afternoon but a bad night's sleep, so I'm not sure whether napping is a good idea Confused

PS Carol If you'd like advice on the work situation, Maternity Action and Citizens Advice are both very good.

Urgh, that is frustrating Carol. I don''t know anything about UK employment law but maybe you could send a registered letter with the dates you had agreed, and include a copy of your previously agreed dates. Just so it's all on file? Hopefully they've just made a mistake.

Excellent news on the baby turning Hugh - you must be relieved! And, I hope your last week flies by...I'm already off and loving it :)

I wish I could go to your osteopath Name, though I'd probably cry if s/he told me the baby will come at 42 weeks. Sorry to read you're feeling so uncomfortable. I also have that nap/bad night's sleep argument with myself Grin

Mother you sound far too busy!! Apologies if you've said this before but when is your DD's birthday in relation to your cs?

I don't have any exciting news, my morning sickness returned a few weeks back and has been really awful the last week so that's been fun. I also had my 35 week check up this morning and ended up with two vaginal swabs taken and he had a feel of my cervix - not what I was expecting at 7.30 in the morning Grin.

Cloeycat · 22/02/2017 11:39

Carolynn if you are taking holidays after then it is correct that your maternity leave would finish before you take holidays. When you are on annual leave rather then maternity leave you are back on full pay on the payroll. So your maternity leave is finished but you aren't expected to be back at work as your holidays are then starting.

Carolann8584 · 22/02/2017 11:49

Thanks ladies, going to discuss with my manager closer to the time and concentrate on my LO for now.

Cramping stopped after a couple of hours, actually had about 4-5hours of sleep last night only waking once to go to the loo Grin best night I've had in a while. Then had a sleep this morning after breakfast and OH went to work.

I have a MW appointment this afternoon, hands are swollen, well my fingers feel tight when I bend them and can't put my ring on as it was difficult to take off last night. Can't believe I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow! DM predicts I will go into labour 38 weeks! Hmm

MotherofA · 22/02/2017 23:01

Ohhhh Carol I wonder if your cramps are slow labour hehe ! That would be exciting !
Genghis you do make me giggle haha I bet that morning appointment made your day. Grin
My DD birthday is 09/3 and CS 10/3 😂😂 10 year and 1 day age gap hahaha bizarre right ?
Had a scan and signed consent forms etc today . They put baby at 6 lb 10 , she was sucking her arm but I didn't get a good pic today 😩. I guess I just have to wait for the real deal now . Can't see her weighing the same as DD (8lb3) as she was a week over due and this one is a week early .
Oh Hugh baby was head down at the scan so I think I may have been wrong thinking she had twisted ! Apparently it's her legs I can feel sideways under my ribs .

Carolann8584 · 22/02/2017 23:23

Had MW appointment today, BP was high first try then after measuring bump and doing CO2 test did BP again and it was fine. She did measure me at 38 weeks even tho am only 37 weeks. She asked if anyone at the hospital had mentioned earlier delivery Shock

Carolann8584 · 22/02/2017 23:27

mother yeah that would be a shock but cramps have stopped now, not had any other signs of labour, according to MW she's 4/5th in position but forgot to ask does that mean she has 1/5th to go or she needs to move another 4/5th but she's still head down back to front Smile

Feeling really lazy this week, I've been getting up at 7 making lunch for OH and breakfast for us then when he goes to work I go back to sleep. Then I'm having an afternoon nap as well!!

On my last scan they said she's 6lbs but I'm still having another growth scan next week

Should I be drinking raspberry leaf tea?

MotherofA · 23/02/2017 21:21

Carol that's 1/5 to go I reckon ! I am still working (I work from home ) and actually getting panicky about cleaning so much so that when I try to nap I can't sleep haha. I do want to nap haha . That's lovely you get up and have breakfast with oh . Smile
Hugh omg you have kids with a 1 year age gap ?! 😱 wow you are a brave woman ! What's the gap between this one and the one before ? Haha like your style with the birthdays , you can get away with it at that age gap it's almost like twins surely haha ?

Mummymulb16 · 23/02/2017 22:04

Is anyone taking raspberry leaf tea?
If so would you recommended it ?

bobbis · 23/02/2017 22:19

The NHS says "Raspberry leaf tea (made from fresh leaves or a sachet of dried
leaf) or tablets taken after 36 weeks of pregnancy is said to tone
the uterus. (There is no clear evidence that this helps but it does
no harm.)"
I drank it with my last pregnancy from around 36 weeks and went overdue with a 30 hour labour so I can't say it did anything for me personally.

MotherofA · 23/02/2017 22:20

I think my sister did and she was 1 week early with her LB Smile

Carolann8584 · 23/02/2017 22:43

Think I'll try the tablet form, fruit tea makes me gag Confused

Little bit of cramping again tonight

MotherofA · 23/02/2017 23:03

It sounds like you might be in the really early stages of slow labour Carol just speaking from my experience with DD . I had v mild cramping for a few days and it wasn't until I got a trickle of waters (I didn't know what it was ) that I rang MW and things progressed . Good luck with everything to whoever is next any way ! Flowers

Carolann8584 · 23/02/2017 23:26

MW home visit tomorrow so I will let her know about the cramping Smile
