That's a lovely story about the slippers Mother! And great to hear I'm not the only one super organised on that front :)

I just bought a few of the newborn basics too Carol - they look so small and cute.

That sounds like a very good excuse to go on holiday Cloey!

How are you all getting on for names? I have to stop looking at the baby names topic as I'm just going around in circles.

NameChange30 · 03/02/2017 09:21

Genghis
I'm disorganised about everything else but we picked our name ages ago! We were a bit more limited for choice because it has to work in two languages and we also have two nephews with names we obviously had to rule out. We've been keeping the name a secret though, much to our family's frustration!
Do you have a thread in baby names? If you do I'll check it out, I love a good baby name thread Smile

Ahhhhh Cloey that's so cute ! I would take him up on that !
We are staying in U.K. For hols this year , I have bought summer dresses and bloomers but can always put vests / leggings / cardis with them .

We have our name and are also keeping it secret .... I know there are a few opinionated people who won't like it so I thought revealing her name after she is born makes them less likely to tell us they don't like it haha . That's the theory anyway ! Plus I have to keep something a surprise as we found out the sex !

How is everyone feeling today ? I feel large but not sick . Midwife at 10.30 although that is pretty insignificant as I am never in there more than 15 min and have never seen the same one twice haha .

Carolann8584 · 03/02/2017 09:43

We have our name picked, was difficult, we are having a girl, we have 6 nieces, 2 god daughters, OH has 2 sisters, all have middle names so that's 20 names we didn't want to duplicate. We both work in offices with a few ladies in each and didn't want to use any of their names either. After ruling out quite a few we found a name we both loved. Just hope it suits her Smile

Carolann8584 · 03/02/2017 09:51

Sick again today, had to run to the kitchen sink as the toilet was to far, banged my bump slightly as I'm quite short I had to tip toe to lean over. Seems OK now though and Beany seems fine, her usual rolling self.

I haven't had a MW appointment in ages. Not seen her since before Christmas. I've been to the hospital a fair few times and seen the MWs there but I haven't had a routine appointment since 22 weeks or so. As I went from irregular BP which is fine and steady now then it was growth scans which I have to go back on Monday to see the specialist. Called my MW to see if I need to see her as well, she said if I'm being seen at the hospital I don't need to see her but if I don't have a hospital app for wc 13th then I am to come see her.

Also still haven't had my WC vacc. I asked for it the other day but then they wanted to do the steroid injections so they advised have it later.

MotherofA · 03/02/2017 09:55

Ahhhh I'm sure it will Smile.
Yes I haven't seen the midwife much due to hospital appts but I prefer that really I think it's more thorough . My next appt is at hospital then I'll prob have 1 midwife appt before c section I think .
Bless you hope you are feeling better x

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 03/02/2017 10:58

You poor thing Carol - I hope you start feeling better soon, and good luck for Monday.

I hope the appointment goes well today Mother.

No, I don't have a thread Name - I think I would take it to heart if someone said they didn't like my name (as ridiculous as that sounds). We have to make our name work in two languages too - not always that simple is it :)

I'm impressed with everyone having their names already. We do have one in mind, though while DH is 100% with the name, I keep hmming and haaing - I love the name but am scared to make what seems like such a big decision. So I keep checking out the baby names board in case I've missed one!

NameChange30 · 03/02/2017 11:11

Ah tell us the name we promise to be kind! Wink

One of the reasons we're keeping it a secret (apart from not wanting to hear others' opinions) is just in case we change our minds when the baby is born. I don't think we will but you never know. So I think it's ok to tell yourselves that you've got a name in mind but you're not deciding on it 100% until the baby is here.

I also read a comment on a baby names thread that helped me not to stress too much about the decision - they said you don't need the "perfect" name, just a name that you both like - and in the end you will think it's perfect because it belongs to your darling child!

PS It's secret in RL but not on MN, btw! So I'll tell if you will Wink

haha huge I would be the same. I've had some cramps in my lower ump today as well. I woken up the past few days to a pain on my left lower bump, really sharp pain, very uncomfortable. Goes away after a minute or two

I haven't got to the panic stage yet, still quite chilled about the whole situation, I'm sure that will change soon.

Just popped home at lunch to find my scan letter for Monday, and one for the Monday after as well.

Really can't share our name, it's lovely though, hope it suits her Smile

MotherofA · 03/02/2017 18:48

I'm not sharing ours either hahahaha it would be like breaking the code of silence 😂🤐.
How is everyone doing tonight ?
Caught a side glance of myself in the mirror at next today and WOW not a pretty sight !

I wonder if they really are accurate ? Hmm asked midwife today she said yes ....
oh about her , she was scary , new to the team she read all my notes (nosey) lol I was in there far longer than any other visits ... she felt my tummy and all I can say is Owch fucking owch ! She was pushing down where baby's head is (pelvis area) so hard it really hurt and I thought she was going to send me in to labour ?!?!
Also I'm sure I got the odd waft of BO .... apparently she is my midwife now , luckily only one more then until ELCS as at hosp for next one . Hugh any recollection on how many times they come out to visit because I'm not looking forward to that if it is her haha ConfusedBlush

Bottles, steriliser and nappies bought today, half price Grin love my bargains

NameChange30 · 04/02/2017 12:11

Where did you get your bargains from Carol? I still have loads to buy!

OP posts:
Carolann8584 · 04/02/2017 13:05

Morrisons have a baby event on at the minute, I got an avent bottle starter kit for £9 and an avent steriliser for £13, plus nappies are about 40%off, I only bought 1 pack of pampers should have been £10.67 down to £6 for 72 newborn

Mummymulb16 · 04/02/2017 14:24

Oh wow that is a bargain Carolann ! I wonder if I can order it online don't think I will be able to get there this weekend!

MotherofA · 04/02/2017 15:54

That's an amazing price on nappies !

I'll prob just plod along and not say anything Hugh haha but if I had her from the start I would probably have changed .

As for growth scans it will be interesting to see how our little ones come out Smile

bobbis · 04/02/2017 16:32

I managed to grab those nappies too Carol, chuffed!
We've got everything now....regretting doing it all as I feel like I'm just playing the waiting game. I'm due right at the end of March too.
We decided on a name after we found out we were having a girl. Made a deal to not tell anyone but it's killing me! Hoping it suits her now

Carolann8584 · 04/02/2017 17:27

We still don't have everything! Picked changing table, cot and cupboard / drawers for her room, can't wait to get them. Then I can put her things away properly instead of having bags everywhere. Should get them next weekend Grin

MotherofA · 04/02/2017 22:24

Ah sounds lovely Carol !
Funny how so many of us are keeping 🤐 about our names hehe .
I really wanted a couple of names with DD1 but her dad said no so we actually decided after she was born . Annoyingly it's now VERY popular haha Smile

MotherofA · 04/02/2017 22:26

Oh got car seat (maxi cosi pebble) and family fix base today plus bought some of those ready bottles of milk with teats for hospital Smile

Carolann8584 · 05/02/2017 20:18

Wow, first time I've noticed my feet a bit swollen, my walking trainers felt a bit tighter today

Just done a bit more painting for the boys "big boy" room. So frustrating watching my OH roller when I want to do it (properly) it's not even, it's going to bug me. Don't like comments like " it'll do" or "it doesn't have to be perfect" errrmmm yes it does
