I'm managing around 2l water and then 4 cups of fruit or black tea. Sometimes have a banana milk before bed. All the water is a struggle tbh. At work I get thirsty because it's so damn hot but at home I don't have the same incentive to drink. However when I manage to keep the volume up it is easier to go to the loo.

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2016 22:08

Shell I am still in normal clothes too- just wearing my looser clothes or a size up

Mysterycat23 · 16/11/2016 08:01

CeeCee that's tough, hope you're doing ok?

Shell and London lucky you! Have been in mat clothes for months now. Put away all the stuff I can't get into and boy oh boy it's pretty much all my clothes. Really trying to avoid buying any more, can't afford it.. saving up for the Chicco next to me crib (cot? Bassinet?) which is about £150..

Evergreen17 · 16/11/2016 08:28

Witch I hear you. I am back to work today and I have 6 weeks left and I dont know how to cope.
Didnt you get a 25 w appointment? On mine they checked my wee and blood pressure, measure my belly and used the doppler. Not much more happens
Kikis I drink a lot if plain water. I hate having to pee all the time but I have no choice. We have no table and eat on the couch. Oh dear, terrible parents! Our house is tiny
London I am so jealous Sad I have gained 11.4 kilos and pretty sad about it. It is my fault because I have been stuffing my face. I am feeling really low and anxious and chocolate seems to be my comfort item.
I had the same with bump. From you dont look pregnant to wow! You look really pregnant now!
Kikis my bump was sore overnight every time I moved. I went to the toilet and baby started kicking like mad. Probably the extra space. Oh dear.
My belly button is changing a lot. Stretching and soon will be popping out I can feel it. I was always innie and now is almost flat
London that is great news about your friend!!

Kate555578 · 16/11/2016 09:35

Hi I've only posted a few times, hope it's ok for me to jump in.

I'm nearly 26 weeks, I had my 25 week appointment yesterday and the midwife said I needed to book in for the glucose test.
I am not overweight, I'm 23, my only risk factor for me to have it is my dad is a type 2 diabetic. I have no issues with my pregnancy, I'm low risk, nothing has shown up in my wee and my blood pressure is fine.

Like you ever I'm wondering if I really need it and the midwife has said if I get a dodgey result I'm automatically classed as high risk, and will no longer be able to give birth in the midwife led unit which I really want. It's really worrying me now as I've also read a lot of people get bad readings when they aren't actually diabetic.
Ever I've followed your posts about it, what have you decided to do?

LondonGirl83 · 16/11/2016 12:03

Ever 11 kilos at your stage isn't really that much. Its still totally within normal guidelines if you gain half a kilo a week from now on which is what's expected. In fact weight gain slows down in the 3rd trimester anyhow. Remember a lot of the weight gain for some women is water weight-- I can gain a kilo of water overnight! You may just be retaining water so don't fret. Everyone I know was able to lose their baby weight within 6 months even those who put on 25 kilos!

twocatsandatoddler · 16/11/2016 12:17

Ever I agree with London - don't worry too much about weight gain. I put on something like 20kg with DS and was back in all my pre-pregnancy clothes within 4 months. A lot of it was water as I lost loads of weight in the first two weeks after giving birth. I'm not getting on the scales this time, I don't really want to know! Everyone's body is different and some people naturally gain more weight in pregnancy than others, I know my body likes to put on weight when I'm pregnant so I'm just embracing it!

Kate I honestly dont know what to do! From talking to friends that work on birth related things I thought I wont have it. Then midwife said I should really have it.
Then next midwife said no! You dont have any risk factors so we will do the blood tests this week and look there.
Dont book it.
But next week when we look at the results it will be with the midwife that said it was important to have it "because I am Spanish"
But the other midwife had said the guidelines on that changed Confused
So I havent booked it as I was told not to on the 25th w app but I feel next week I will be told the opposite again.
So basically I have no idea!
I will ask DH to come with me next week and see what she says

Evergreen17 · 16/11/2016 17:16

Thanks London and twocats SmileI hope it is just water then Grin just placenta and water Grin
I dont mind having to lose it afterwards, I spend my life dieting! It is the fact that my bubba will get fatSad
And bad for my joints...
I am indulging too much but the lack of wine is hard to beat

Mysterycat23 · 16/11/2016 18:44

Ever I have gained weight everywhere, even my arms!! I think gaining weight is a good sign of body being healthy and saving up plenty of fuel. Pretty sure we won't get much of a chance to eat during labour and will be hard to fit in proper meals with a newborn to look after. Chocolate is my weakness too, I have had to cut down as was sick of getting horrid spots :( they need to invent a sugar free chocolate that also doesn't cause spots!!

Evergreen17 · 16/11/2016 19:54

But mystery chocolate is so good SadSadSad ChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateChocolateWHY????!!!!!!
I cant wait to have some of this WineWineWineWineWine

Evergreen17 · 16/11/2016 20:04

Which changing mat should I buy? Smile
Any good ones?

MarjorySunshineDust · 16/11/2016 20:45

evergreen John Lewis do a big changing mat with sloping sides, it's brilliant when baby starts trying to roll away!

MarjorySunshineDust · 16/11/2016 20:47

This is the one wedge mat

Evergreen17 · 17/11/2016 08:09

Thanks Marjory!

Evergreen17 · 17/11/2016 09:28

Grrrr rantAngry
No wonder I am in full anxiety and worry mode. There are just TOO many negative statements for us pregnant women out there. So unnecessary! We all suffered the statistic pressure during the first 12 weeks but it never stops does it?
I have a cold and sore throat so I checked the NHS website for which remedies i can have. It suggested visiting the bumps site, for medicines that are ok.
Clicked the link and this is the first thing you see
I am so bloody mad Angry at why do they have to constantly remind us of miscarriages and stillbirths and birth defects. EnvyEnvyEnvy really?? Is that necessary? Because I see no reason to put that on the front page EnvyAngry

Ever it drives me mad too but think of it this way - our babies are pretty much cooked now - it's too late for them to develop a birth defect unless they have already, and also they are now viable out in the world so you really have passed the danger markers.

Evergreen17 · 17/11/2016 10:50

Thanks Fenella. It is the stillbirth thing that get me now. Why do they have to scare us this much???
Just got my blood test done today so hopefully will be ready for next week appointment. 28weeks, third trimester!!!! GrinGrinGrin

Shellbell0403 · 17/11/2016 12:17

Just back from having my gtt! Fizzy juice has never tasted so good!! Haha... time to eat! Woohoo. Results tomorrow!

ever try not to worry about it... I'm trying to put it out my mind!

Bisquick · 17/11/2016 18:09

Ladies, does anyone have an opinion on the Hauck London travel system? Or if anyone has access to Which, can they tell me about the car seat that comes with it and whether it's rated well? (The car seat is called Hauck Zero Plus Comfort Car Seat).
We don't drive but a car seat for Ubering seems useful, and this system is the lightest weight one I could find + it includes a bassinet. But don't know where I can go try it on the high street since Mothercare and JL don't seem to stock it (last time I checked).

kikisdelivery · 17/11/2016 18:52

Bis we have access to Which? via work. If you remind me tomorrow - I can't remember the log in! - before 4pm, I'll try and get into the site and look at the review for you :)

GinIsIn · 17/11/2016 18:52

If you have a look at some of the pushchair threads on here, most of them say it's terrible - sorry! :(

LondonGirl83 · 17/11/2016 21:30

Bis Which give it a decent rating though its not a Best Buy. Here is the info:

"Used without the base, the Hauck Zero Plus offers first rate front and side crash protection, achieving five stars for each test.

It is a little tricky to install due to the seat belt guides being partially hidden by the cover. However, if care is taken the fitting of the seat is not likely to be installed incorrectly.

It's an extremely lightweight seat and can be bought separately or as part of a pushchair travel system. Its compatible with travel systems from several different pushchair manufacturers, and your retailer will be able to provide information regarding compatibility details.

Excellent leg support and padding add to the baby's comfort and, once the seat is fixed into the car, the buckling up process is straightforward.
The seat cover is easily removable but can only be washed by hand.

Overall rating
The Hauk Zero Plus is a good all round seat, offering first rate protection in crashes. Its overall score is still quite a way off the Best Buy threshold, however."
