34 weeks I meant not 36

Shellbell0403 · 15/11/2016 09:27

fenella mine kicked in yesterday! Ooft! Lol xx

kikisdelivery · 15/11/2016 10:15

My baby radiator has definitely kicked in! Not too much of a sweaty mess yet but am waiting for it at any moment! I always used to be the sweatiest mess playing sports so am surprised I'm not first on the baking hot and grim list. I'm going to go with looking half-tidy while it lasts!

At my GTT at the mo... So boring and now I'm definitely hungry! 30 mins to go...

Evergreen17 · 15/11/2016 10:21

Is it normal to be exhausted at 27 weeks??
I didnt go to work yesterday or today and have been resting but I am still exhausted.
I cant be like this!
Also how much water are you drinking and is anyone else short of breath?
I am starting yoga tonight if I can leave the couch Sad

GinIsIn · 15/11/2016 10:25

Yes to random shortness of breath, and exhaustion, and the GTT being oh so boring!

Evergreen17 · 15/11/2016 10:25

Good luck kikis. When do you get your results??
Can I ask why you were asked to do the test?
So far 2 midwives said to have it and 2 said I dont need it and not to have it. Getting pretty pissed off with the lack of consistency...

Evergreen17 · 15/11/2016 10:26

Ok Fenella so then this is normal? I am so bloody tired but need to go to work tomorrow
I hope I can manage

GinIsIn · 15/11/2016 10:29

I don't know if it's normal or not per se, but it's certainly me too - I don't get home from work until 8pm and am asleep by 9 at the moment. The tiredness has definitely got worse in the past week.

Evergreen17 · 15/11/2016 10:32

Oh dear. How will we cope? Sad

Shellbell0403 · 15/11/2016 10:42

ever shortness of breath will happen as everything and the diaphragm is pushed up. I was signed off with exhaustion a few weeks ago, have u had your iron levels tested?

I have my gtt on Thursday, not looking forward to it! Haha...

Evergreen17 · 15/11/2016 10:57

My iron has been good all along but I have new tests on Thursday
To be honest I think it is the thought of going to work that leaves me exhausted.
Who signed you off? GP?
Why are you getting the GTT shell? I feel I cant trust my midwives if they cant agree on something like this...

kikisdelivery · 15/11/2016 11:39

Back home now - sorry ever wasn't ignoring you!

I had to have it because my BMI was right on the testing level at 30 - though I have heard other folks say that the Rosie Maternity's (in Cambridge) policy is just to make mums-to-be do it. The results will apparently be told to me by phone if I do have GD, as early as tomorrow, but otherwise if I don't hear anything the midwife will run through everything at my next appt (next week for me).

It's so nice to be able to eat and drink again! Never has an asda own-brand cereal bar, squashed at the bottom of my handbag, tasted so good!

Oh and water drinking.... I'm just trying to drink as much as possible. I don't really monitor as such, but it's certainly become apparent that it's more than I'd have drunk pre-pregnancy. I'm partly doing it to make sure that things also keep moving in the loo department as well as general hydration... Blush

GinIsIn · 15/11/2016 12:04

How funny - I drink loads less water now than I did pre-pregnancy - it's the only way to not be needing the loo every 30 seconds!

twocatsandatoddler · 15/11/2016 12:04

kiki I haven't heard anything from the hospital about 28 week bloods or GTT but the midwife who did my booking said I'd need to do glucose challenge (1 hr fast) as standard, so they do make everyone do it but not always full GTT. Hope it went ok!

I had to move my 28 week midwife appointment from today as I'm at a funeral today so that's next week when I'll be 29+5, so I'll ask the midwife then. I haven't seen her since 16 weeks as it's my second pregnancy so no 25 week one. I've had two scans and a VBAC appointment between then and now though so I don't feel too neglected!

Evergreen17 · 15/11/2016 12:11

Ahhh kikis good luck with your results Smile
Oh Fenella lucky you. I am usually very thirsty and midwife said to aim for 4 litres a day at least instead of 2 pre pregnancy
Madness. Everyone is different though. I do feel dehydrated if I dont
Twocats my 25 w app was pretty uneventful. Blood pressure, wee sample and on my way. They feel so rush Sad

Witch91 · 15/11/2016 14:37

I'm due to be working until 13/01 when I'll be 38 weeks, but even though I know that's only 9 weeks, including Christmas, it does feel like a long time to wait when I feel so shattered, and I only went back to work yesterday after a week off! Not quite sure how i'm going to manage full time for the next 9 weeks :(

Re: water, i'm having to drink loads as well, otherwise I get really bad headaches. Difficult at work when we can't use any of the toilets on our floor at the moment and I have to walk the long way round to use the toilet on the ground floor due to access issues!

Witch91 · 15/11/2016 14:39

But, on a lighter note, got my 28 week midwife check up on Thursday, and our 4D scan on Saturday! I'm looking forward to it.

Has anyone had one of these before? Do they still do the type of measurements that they did at the 20 week scan to check that everything is ok?

kikisdelivery · 15/11/2016 15:05

Ever I'm drinking around that - 4 litres or so - I reckon. I only really drink water in the office during the day, so no problems with doing it. At home I'm a bit rubbish because I don't normally drink much in the evening, plus I'm being fussy about flavours like apple/blackcurrant and all the usual squash types! I went through a lime and soda phase with fresh limes, but am off that again now!

My poor bump has been a bit tight since coming back from the GTT. I can still feel the bub hopping round in there, so no movement cause for concern in that regard. I think it's our dining chairs - I'm working at home for the rest of the day and sitting at the kitchen table. It's not going to bode well for christmas dinner and so on (right now we're a couple who have a dining table but never use it! We eat in front of the telly...!!) - it's uncomfortable both with a cushion and without :( And now the bloody cat's nicked my cushion...

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2016 16:37

Ever I am drinking 3-4 liters at the moment. When I don't I start retaining water weight which I'm keen to avoid as its uncomfortable!

Also, my trust now offer the GTT as standard at 28 weeks. I'm having mine done in a week and a half. Then another growth scan later that day. Fun times.

I still haven't put on much weight (3-4 Kilos) but I am absolutely enormous now. My husband and I take pics every week for my mom and over the last 5 weeks I've gone from 'I can't tell you are pregnant' to 'you must be ready any day now'! So many people at work have commented on how much I've popped so quickly I'm beginning to worry something is wrong!

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2016 16:38

Kiki sorry your finding it hard to get comfy.

kikisdelivery · 15/11/2016 16:47

London we've started doing the bump pics too :) I didn't before because there wasn't much bump to speak of (I'm tall and normally mid-range curvy - not obese but by no means thin!) and then we kind of forgot to do the updates to family. I know of some women who posted updates on facebook every week with bump pics, but that's just not me because this feels a bit more personal! We announced to the world after family of course, following the 12 week scan, and then again we said sex after the 20 week, but I haven't really done anything since. My poor MIL was getting desperate I think, as they live in France and hadn't had any info for ages!

I'm much comfier now! Embarrassingly, I think that some of the full, tight feeling might've been because I hadn't been to the loo for a couple of days - TMI as always, but since going earlier I feel a lot more comfortable! Gotta love constipation... Hmm - I'm just thankful it's not as bad as some of you guys seem to be having it, I really feel for you!

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2016 17:16

Kiki-- I totally get it. For me constipation is worse the my PGP pain!

I haven't posted anything about my pregnancy on Facebook. I send my mom and friends abroad the bump pics via WhatsApp. I'm not really a Facebook person to be honest. My mom being over in the US begs for them every week.

I'm tall too which is why I think it initially took so long to show. I'm normal weight (dress size 10 and 5 foot 9) but now that my body has run out of space my goodness have I popped out. I still have an innie bellybutton (just) but I'll be shocked if its still there by the weekend :)

kikisdelivery · 15/11/2016 17:27

Haha, I still just have an innie too, London, though it does some very strange things if I happen to laugh or move my stomach a lot when lying down! I'm the same height as you but usual dress size 16 (though I love New Look because I can fit into their 14's, yay!) so it's taken me a while to pop too! I just ran to the shop, in fact (not literally!) and bumped into a friend who spent our entire short chat checking out my bump. I couldn't tell if she was thinking it was too big or too small!! Thankfully she didn't offer up an opinion!

LondonGirl83 · 15/11/2016 19:08

Guys I just found out one of my best friends is pregnant. She took the test like 10 min ago! I'm so excited for her and me. She lives down the road and our babies will be 5 months apart! One of my other best friends in London is trying too and I'm really hoping we all have babies next year!

Shellbell0403 · 15/11/2016 20:06

Starting to worry I'm not drinking enough water! I can't fit anymore in. Drinking lots of milk etc and water but nowhere near 4 litres!

ever i am getting the test because of the pcos side of it all!

I am still in normal clothes also... just buying a size up!
