"broken twice in 6 months! fighting for refund…"
My mum bought me this pram last November in petrol blue for my daughter who came along in February. I loved the colour (petrol blue) and when I first started using it I loved it...
At the end of April I noticed the two front wheels would not come off (they are meant to, to make the pram easy to fit into a car). After a few weeks the pram was replaced. I started using the second chassis in the beginning of may and by the end of July I was back on at the retailer as the back of the pushchair started to bow, if you know this pram you know how hard it is to hang a lot of weight off of it as there is a bar (the bag has poppers to attach it to the bar...You can get clips to add on but I thought this promoted shopping which as I try to save every penny I didn't do this) I knew I had done nothing to trigger this fault and wrote to the retailer. They offered me the second replacement in three months!! I got angry at this point and am now demanding a refund, I have been down all of the correct routes about this and trading standards have told me I have a case as it has caused a major inconvenience & hasn't been fit for purpose. I do not drive and like many people do not have the money to go out and buy a brand new pushchair, especially when my mum bought me a pram that is meant to last three years! me and my daughter haven't been out properly (unless in a car when out with friends, or near enough for me to carry her) in nearly a month when I first complained, I feel that the two back wheels will give way and come off the pram completely. I do not know how I will cope if this happens, I will not put my daughter in this pram as I do not feel that it is safe when it could fall apart at any point.
I agree with the other points made- when the car seat was on the frame my daughters head was constantly forward, she always looked so uncomfortable!
the breaks were absolutely shocking, I looked like a stupid little girl when I would put the breaks on and spend the next ten minutes on my hand and knees in the high street trying to unlock the breaks, which would leave me in a pretty bad mood, so I stopped putting the breaks on at all and never let go of my pram! When I was collapsing all the parts of the pram ready for the courier to collect for inspection by hauck (concerning refund- they do not want to part with their money for this poorly designed pram) I noticed the springs in the bottom of the pram were loose, probably why the breaks were awful and tricky!
The shopping basket is in a stupid place- as I don't drive I have to get as much into the basket as I can, I don't stuff it stupidly but put things that would be awkward to carry eg milk. However if my daughter is asleep and the pushchair is in the sleep position the only way to access the shopping basket is to momentarily lift the seat, which normally wakes my daughter.
we can all be forgetful & this pram could cause a serious injury... if your in a hurry and detach the car seat from the frame and put your child into the pushchair there would be two sharp pieces that attach the car seat to the frame that do not disappear when the car seat is gone, unless you know how to a use force you will not be able to move the pieces back into the back piece.
I bought the hauck universal rain cover, which fitted the pram fine, although I constantly thought it was going to fly away as it wasn't easy to anchor to the pram.
The pram part folded down easy to fit on the parcel shelf in a car however my daughter grew out of that bit very early so we didn't really get much use out of that, and it said not to wash the blue parts and to surface wash them... I didn't think that was right as I would prefer to have it washed just cause that's cleaner & sun cream of all things makes the material look greasy!
the only positive I have about this pram was the petrol blue colour(not the black or grey it was blended with...looked unattractive) it looked great in winter and looked beautiful in the beginning of the summer, I got so many compliments about the pram and colour and I would happily say yes hauck Malibu petrol blue. NEVER AGAIN
my sister had the hauck condor for her daughter three years ago and never had a problem, I was unlucky enough to go for looks and value rather than quality which I will never do again. Spend that extra 80-100 pounds to get the PERFECT pram, safe, flexible and looks sensible. mum spend 220 on this pram for me, as a 3-1 I just think it was too cheap (you know what they say, if its too good to be true and all) well this pushchair was! In the future I would spend more on a travel system to save costs buying a new pram and posting costs!
its been four weeks and I'm still waiting
Pushing this pram was a nightmare! as the wheels weren't parallel at the back I found manoeuvring a massive problem, it wasn't a nice light flexible pram but a heavy and difficult push!
next time I buy a pram I will read the reviews which I haven't done before. I highly recommend everyone looking for a new pram to get as many reviews as you can as I don't want to see anyone else in the same situation as I am. Me and my daughter have hardly been out in a month & I return to work from maternity leave in two weeks so we have not been able to take advantage of the good weather, instead we have been on very short walks and stayed in
Do not make the same mistake I have.Read moreLess
"Collapsed with my toddler in it!…"
This was very fiddly to use when changing attachments (babyseat etc), and too big to take on the plane when we went abroad last year when my baby was 10 months. So we bought a lightweight buggy and have been using that ever since, until I dug the Hauck out again last month. It felt so wonderful and smooth, I started pushing my now 2 year old around in it again all the time. Then one of the front wheels suddenly started locking, almost tipping the pushchair over in the road while coming off a kerb; it also locks on grass so is totally useless and hazardous in the park or where there isnt a path. 4 days ago I put my toddler in the pushchair and we set off on the 2 mile trek to town, she fell asleep so I reclined it...about 20 minutes later the hood unclipped itself out of the holders on both sides and the whole supporting back of the buggy collapsed, leaving my little girl dangling out of the back!! Worse nobody came to help me and i had her screaming in the buggy as i was struggling to put it back together. Then it happened again just as she went back off to sleep! So incredibly dangerous! My daughter is literally only just 2 and of very slight build, I'm disgusted at how totally rubbish this product is and that my child could have fallen out and onto the road and been run over. One for Watchdog i think. Oh and the foam handle split very early on. And doesnt fit in my car!
When I fell pregnant my mother offered to buy the pram. We live 200 miles apart though & couldn't go shopping together for it so I had to look online for something that wasn't too expensive. I found this and thought I'd found something reasonably priced that had everything we needed in one - pram, car seat and pushchair.
I saw an online Hauck video for how this could be collapsed, folded and put up again, how all the different attachments attached and detached again - it looked so easy to use I really thought I'd done my research before asking my mum to part with her cash.
I was so very very wrong! This is an AWFUL travel system, I've hated it since it was first delivered.
It looked cheap & nasty, it was difficult to assemble and I had serious reservations about whether my baby would even be safe or comfortable in it. The car seat fits into the wheelbase so you don't have to disturb your LO. Sounds like a great idea, but it just doesn't work here.
A newborn sleeps a lot and cannot support their own head so needs to be reclined. This car seat sits so upright when fitted onto the wheelbase my boys little head lolled forward all the time. Its also very difficult to get off the wheelbase and both myself and other members of the family have had difficulty - my mother-in-law refuses to take him out in it anymore.
After just a few weeks the wheels started to stick and I've often got caught out stuck in the middle of roads when crossing because the wheels have decided to just not move anymore! They also started to squeak very loudly which is SO embarrassing when everyone in town looks at you!
Its difficult to get things in and out of the shopping basket when using the pushchair attachment, the hood is flimsy, it doesn't come with a raincover and I've probs finding a universal one that will fit this when in pushchair mode, its heavy and bulky, does NOT fold easily nor compactly.
The brake is also a nightmare. We went on a boat cruise at the weekend and put the brake on when on the boat. However when we docked my 14 stone strong husband was unable to unlock the brake and had to carry the entire thing off the boat.
After that incident my other half demanded we get rid if this now and buy a new one, so we did. This went straight to the tip! Its such a relief to no longer have to put up with this.
My advice - AVOIDRead moreLess

Bought this travel system for my daughter. It looked nice but quite flimsy, the buckles on the pram were really annoying and fiddly. My daughter bounced around in the bassinet, the car seat didn't sit at the right angle on the pram (daughter's head would fall forward when attached to pram) and the chassis broke at 7 months so the wheel would not stay on. I got sent a replacement and was intent on battling on with it but the replacement broke as well. With tweaks and better quality manufacturing it might be a great travel system but I would never buy another Hauck.Read moreLess
Again, thought it was great but wheels were flimsy and steering rubbish as baby got heavier. Then, after 6 months of moderate use, chassis has fatally snapped. No hope of repair. The carseat seems sturdy however - that has done a good service. Wouldn't buy another Hauck buggy though.Read moreLess

"Do not buy!…"
I too thought I had a bargain with the Hauck Travel System but I was so wrong! The foam handle split early on, the wheels lost their smoothness after a few days, the chair element sat wonky so my son always sloped to the right and he could never sit upright as it has a very low back. However, that doesn't compare to the whole frame completely snapping in two only after 1 1/2 year of use! Do not buy this pushchair - it is dangerous!Read moreLess

Thought it was an amazing pushchair for the price it was at, 2 and a half months on and only using the pushchair for 3 long walks and quick little trips around shops which doesn't use much 'wear and tear' two bolts fly out of it and one part that holds the car seat and moses basket on falls off.Read moreLess

Initially thought it was fab then the front wheels began to play up and the frame snapped in half after 6 months' use. Although the car seat and carrycot are spacious and comfy, it's a shame about the chassis - I had to buy a new pram.Read moreLess
