I was wondering that bonkers, I don't want to wash it all too early because I get that nesting stage where I wash/scrub/organise everything in a few weeks, I did it last time around 36 weeks thinking she'd arrive like the others (37+3 38+2 & 39 weeks) and by the time she'd arrived I had re-washed it 3 times already Blush I don't know when to wash all the chicco crib bedding either...

Londonmamabychance · 02/10/2016 16:28

I just automatically washed the clothes I got as it came
Into the house, and out it away. Now I'm
Wondering same thing should I re-wash t later on? Seems a bit silly maybe?

TipBoov · 02/10/2016 16:34

Hope he's ok nojo x

StubbleTurnips · 02/10/2016 16:44

I wouldn't wash too much now, you can't take it back if it's the wrong size or you get doubles as gifts.

Nojo82 · 02/10/2016 17:14

Ive washed all my baby clothes. Wasnt planning on doing it again.

Yea hes much better but oxygen levels are still low but hes getting nebs every 2 hours..

SolomanDaisy · 02/10/2016 17:40

Hope he's all better soon Nojo.

I've washed most of the baby clothes and won't do it again.

Has anyone else got really swollen feet? I can only fit mine in fitflops and it's going to be too cold soon! I need either shoe recommendations or a miracle cure.

veryfriendlylion · 02/10/2016 18:21

Oh dear, nojo, hope your son picks up soon and you are ok!

lovewatching we went for a tour of the birth unit/labour ward etc last week and the midwife doing the tour said they have a policy that they will not provide formula for people who aren't planning on breast feeding, but have got a supply for people who intend to BF but then can't for whatever reason. She said this was a pretty common policy at lots of hospitals now..may be worth asking at next midwife appointment?

Bigfam · 02/10/2016 18:22

Urgh I feel like I've been kicked in the lady parts, it feels bruised. What is this?!

Thisisbonkers · 02/10/2016 19:02

If they won't need washing again, I might put a load on this week 😊

Hope your son is better soon, nojo

SunnySideDownUp · 02/10/2016 19:08

I think the reason to wash clothes is because they may have chemicals in them from the factories. Use non-bio and don't use conditioner. I washed ours as they'd been in the dusty loft.

nojo I hope he's ok overnight x

Christmas I pasted a long list upthread :)

StubbleTurnips · 02/10/2016 19:12

lovewatching you can pick up ready made bottles with pre sterilised teats that are ready to go for hospital, DH kept them in the car for DD and they were fab.

Bigfam · 02/10/2016 19:17

I bought some of those stubble they're pretty handy but not cheap either!

StubbleTurnips · 02/10/2016 19:22

Definitely not the cheap option, I'm not sure I used ours last time but It might help someone who's planning on breastfeeding from not panicking :)

Lovewatchingrainfall · 02/10/2016 19:35

Thank you for the link stubble I will get some to go in the car so I have some as a back up.

Welcome to the group Christmas.

Bigfam · 02/10/2016 19:38

I'm formula feeding but will use them whilst in hospital, I did with dd3, she wanted to feed literally minutes after she was born. I assume hospitals do have facilities to make up formula feeds if you bring your own powder & bottles though?

DartmoorDoughnut · 02/10/2016 19:45

I remember DS literally wiggled himself down and latched himself on, I was still pretty out of it - had the shaking reaction to the epidural plus just exhausted and a tad shell shocked! - and I was trying to work out what he was doing lol. Determined wee beast!

Londonmamabychance · 02/10/2016 20:15

love as far as I know the newborns didn't need to eat anything for the first 24 hours or more, as they still have so much nutrition in them from being inside? The main reasons you say to put the baby straight to the breadth is to stimulate milk supply, not because the baby is hungry?

Nojo hope you son gets better soon must be hard dealing with an ill child on top of
Pregannacy.

solomon haven't got swollen feet this time (yet) but got it last time, acutely from
One day to the next and all I could fit into was sandals, had to wear them on a cold a rainy September day! After that got a pair of comfy trainers one size bigger than my normal size, and also got some roomy ballet pumps one size up.

veryfriendlylion · 02/10/2016 22:58

Bigfam sorry, meant to say that in my prev post about hospital saying they wouldn't supply formula that she said to bring the ready made little bottles as they didn't provide facilities for sterilising etc. Bit of a ball ache but as someone else said, baby doesn't need much at first!

barkingtreefrog · 03/10/2016 03:52

Been awake since 2am. Not what I needed to start another week! Three weeks left at work and counting every minute until I can turn my alarm off....

OP posts:
Nojo82 · 03/10/2016 07:25

barking being off work is great but my alarm still goes off at 7am so i can leave my eldest to the bus. Now that is so hard coz i dont have to b going to work. But i do tend to go in my pjs lol

StubbleTurnips · 03/10/2016 08:09

Anyone looking for one of the yummy mummy changing bags they had a few in my local TKMaxx, might be worth a look. I picked up 3 large swaddle muslins when I was in for a fiver.

OrianaBanana · 03/10/2016 09:19

I have 7 more weeks of alarms! Sad It was so nice not having an alarm set at the weekend, but having said that I did have a freezing cold naked child burrow under the duvet with me at an early hour both days (DS in case you're wondering! I do put him in pjs at night but he takes them off to go downstairs and watch telly Confused, gets cold then comes to me to warm up...)

Londonmamabychance · 03/10/2016 09:54

Have 6 weeks of alarms to go! thats aid, even on the weekend, i don't sleep very well, just can't fall asleppe and wake up constantly, it's driving me nuts. Feel really rubbush today, so tired and serriously considered calling in sick but have something important to do so dragged myself in (and look at me now just posting here...sigh, better get back to it).

Btw I jsut found this which is a general guideline to how much milk a newborn needs right after birth, I was wrong to day they don't need anything, but in the first 24 hours they only need the equivalent of one teaspoon, so shouldn't be too stressful getting that in to them ; ) www.babycentre.co.uk/x553873/how-much-milk-does-my-baby-need-in-the-first-few-days

Bigfam · 03/10/2016 10:17

Haha your ds OrianaBanana what is it with getting naked?! My ds is nearly 7 but just before he was due to start reception a couple of years ago he used to strip completely naked and crouch on the loo when doing a pooh Confused he would have his feet on each side of the toilet seat along with his hands, we had to explain he couldn't do that at school!

I didn't know that when they're first born they don't need much milk... I should know that with 4 already. Oh dear

KitKat1985 · 03/10/2016 10:26

I am so fed up with having to pee all the time! Especially at night! Agggahhh!
