sue I did a primark run yesterday as well and got some comfy pyjamas and a button front nightie. Although it barely covers my 5'11" arse! I have granny knickers left over from last time, and I really recommend their longer, thin strapped vest tops. They fit over the bump for ages, and are great as a base layer for breastfeeding.

I also found a normal top that is really long at front and back so that's a great extra top for now. It's actually a better fit than my maternity tops!

Mozfan1 · 30/09/2016 22:12

I don't suppose they plan on saying an awful lot... But I'm going to bring it up. It's really hard for me to get to the hospital (3 buses) as dh takes the car to work which is about 8 miles away and I would have to take ds. Bloody ball ache !

Bumplovin · 30/09/2016 22:34

mozfan I had to back for repeat bloods as midwife wrote baby's due date instead of my date of birth on the tube so lab wouldn't accept it. I guess errors happen sometimes

Bumplovin · 30/09/2016 22:35

It doesn't take me several buses tho so feel for you xx

Mozfan1 · 30/09/2016 22:38

Bump I've convinced myself my bodily fluids are being sold on the black market!!! 😂

barkingtreefrog · 01/10/2016 06:25

Southdowns yes, my nausea has returned this week too.

Kitch I'm also really struggling with SPD pain. I went to see a chiropractor on Friday and am going back on Monday. Went for sports massage last week. Haven't got my NHS physio appointment until Thursday so I was desperate!! Can't imagine being in this much pain for the next ten weeks, I can't do anything! I'm really hoping they give me crutches on Thursday. Did they help you? I'm just hoping to get a little mobility back. Currently not sure how I'm going to the walk the dog during my five weeks of maternity before baby is due, can't afford to keep paying a dog walker when I'm at home!!!

Nojo I'm feeling the exhaustion. Got three weeks left at work and they can't go quick enough, I just spend all day craving being in bed!!! Just so busy all the time, I can't wait until things calm down a bit when I finish.

Belgian chocolate Profriteroles for breakfast Grin

I've got a 4d scan today, I really wasn't going to bother but I emailed window to the womb and they gave me a £20 discount on the £89 package, so I couldn't refuse! Will add pictures later (rather excited!!)

Mejse · 01/10/2016 08:23

Bigfam we had a 4d scan last week and we were pretty amazed. Baby had his feet, arms and cord in front of his face most of the time so they gave us a time for another scan for last night. This time he had his hands in the way so we go back one last time on Tuesday. They have still emailed me about 130 pictures from the two sessions, I have attached some.

Sorry I don't get round to posting much, I keep up but as this is my first pregnancy I usually don't have much to contribute.
Hope you are all doing well

Nojo82 · 01/10/2016 08:29

Wow mejse those are amazing. Does baby have loads of hair in that last pic? Oh i want one now..

Mejse · 01/10/2016 08:44

Nojo they didn't mention anything about hair but if you believe what they say about heartburn and hairy babies then that could well be loads of hair.

Bigfam i forgot to say I hope your little one is a bit better behaved at your scan than ours

Kitch82 · 01/10/2016 09:13

barking the crutches have helped me be more mobile over short distances rather than painfully shuffling around, still can't really get very far though. Internet shopping is going to be my friend I think.
So after only being able to agree on girls names turns out I just needed to get dh a bit drunk for him to agree to my boys names choices, let's see if he dares change his mind this morning...

Kitch82 · 01/10/2016 09:15

I meant to say barking I hope you get a good physio, mine is amazing and the massages and realignment work she does actually make me great for 2 days each week. Good luck

sueevone · 01/10/2016 09:28

bigfam we had our 4d scan done at 26 weeks and it was great, baby had his hand up to his face for most of it but managed to get some great photos.

Bigfam · 01/10/2016 09:35

Oh wow Mejse & sueevone they're amazing! Thanks Mejse I hope so too.
This is (supposed to be) our last baby, so it will be a nice treat. I really want to see if she looks like her sisters!
I've done most of my baby shopping online kitch and hoping to get the christmas presents that way too, which I really need to make a start on...

Wow so many babies in that list. Bit jealous of the ones due in nov/early dec. Christmas day due date for us. Stressing a bit about when baby will make an appearance. Hopefully not xmas day as santa has to make an appearance too..

SolomanDaisy · 01/10/2016 10:05

Those 4d scans are brilliant! You can really see what the baby is going to look like.

KitKat1985 · 01/10/2016 10:09

Hi all.

Just to say Love that I found nipple shields a bloody godsend with DD. DD managed to crack my left nipple when she first started feeding, and it was bloody agony every time she latched, but was so much better with a nipple shield on. I'd day if you are finding it very painful then it's worth a try. I'd also agree with everyone who said that I found BF surprisingly painful considering I'd been told it was only painful if the latch was wrong. I think it takes a while for your nipples to get used to being sucked on for hours, but usually after a couple of weeks it gets much better. I do intend to BF this time around but I don't think I'll manage it for 6 months like I did with DD. I found BF very emotionally trying (you are tied essentially to not being able to be away from the baby for very long, and being responsible for the bulk of the feeding - especially at night- is exhausting). I did manage to express a bit so DH could do the odd night feed, but it used to take me nearly an hour sometimes to get enough milk out to do an expressed feed, and with a toddler around as well this time I can't imagine I'm going to be able to spend most of the day either breast-feeding or pumping. I think I'll try and exclusively breast-feed for the first few weeks but then gradually start to mix-feed after a few weeks.

My manager FINALLY told me this week about when my annual leave (pre mat leave starting) is due to start (I've been asking for this information for 3 months!) and my last working day is apparently Sunday the 23rd of October, so 3 more weeks to go. I am desperately counting down the days. The 5.30am starts and 14-15 hour shifts are KILLING me!

In another news, as an imposter on this thread (since I'm due 28th November) I can now officially say I'm due next month! Ekk!

OrianaBanana · 01/10/2016 10:55

I am so worried about Xmas. I'm due on the 16th but DS was 2 weeks late so it's perfectly possible she might appear on Xmas Eve, Boxing Day or Xmas itself. We have no family around so while I can just about leave DS with a school friend's parents for a day or two during term, or a friend out of term, I don't think I could bring myself to leave him with another family over Xmas itself - I don't think that would be welcome and it would be a real shame for him too. If that happens DH will just have to stay at home with him while I labour Sad

Mozfan1 · 01/10/2016 11:09

Oriana Flowers

Don't worry, just think you're giving him the best Christmas present ever!

I had ds last year, was induced on the 26th Dec and he was born on 27th, I felt really stressed over Xmas as I was due 29th. It will all work out for you I'm sure, and it's just one of many Christmases that will follow 🙂

SolomanDaisy · 01/10/2016 11:19

oriana, I know what you mean. My due date is 2nd December so Christmas isn't a worry (and my parents are coming anyway) but sinterklaas here is on the 5th and I'm convinced it will happen then! Luckily our friend who is our first potential babysitter usually comes to us for sinterklaas anyway and I think the older couple across the road who don't have grandchildren yet will be happy to be the sack deliverers. But I still think it will be better if DH stays at home. I've already got DS's presents wrapped and in the Sint sack ready!

SouthDownsSunshine · 01/10/2016 11:45

I haven't got any presents sorted yet 😣

bumbleclat · 01/10/2016 11:58

I bought a Britax travel system from eBay today really good condition etc came with carry cot, clip in Car seat and normal pushchair thing.
Does anyone know if so can have the car seat serviced anywhere/checked for hidden weaknesses?
Paranoid.

OrianaBanana · 01/10/2016 12:12

Yes I need to get pressies sorted too - I'll only get a stocking for baby (assuming she's here) but it'll be our first Xmas by ourselves (and my first not at my parents' house - I'm 37 Sad) so we'll need to sort food etc too. I think it's going to be a Xmas dinner from the freezer (DH is pants at cooking).

wilfrhodes · 01/10/2016 12:46

oh god christmas! due on nye so we will be at home and together for only the second time ever. i gently tried to suggest to my mum that as we wouldn't be there, perhaps i could be let off buying presents for everyone, but she was having none of it and i know she won't be in touch about what people want until the beginning of december at the earliest. i don't even know how i will get the stuff over there (they live the other side of london and we don't drive)

started to get ehat i think might be mild spd this week, hoping it doesnmt get worse, as those of you suffering with crutches and whatnot must be having a really hard time.

i'm right there with those whose nausea has returned too. before meals with me and also triggered by brushing my teeth. i was sick on an empty stomach this monring, which was vile.

getting behind schedule on the to do list, which is worrying too. does anybody have a recommendation for a bouncy chair?
